the first one was good up until Robot started halusinating, then it lost me. I also found it very un-CN that robot both lost and his rivals (i forgot thier names) never got found out and never punished. But i guess that was to humanize (excuse the expression) Robot more, show us he's not perfect even though he is a robot. at the end he was frustrated and didn't even want to give in his final report showing us the range of his emotions.

the second i liked much better, principal Madman was the best part ("I understand your song floresent lights") and It made me feel better with it ending with the evil snake twins (who might get in trouble with some people about thier lisping even though it's ment to represent hissing and snake like qualitys) getting in trouble.

was i the only one who picked up on an AIDS reference in the last one? maybe it's just me and my professor in college always telling anecdotes about all his friends who died of it.

the theme of these two eps was that through good and bad Robot has his freinds to fall back on

With the kankers the Ed's kind desurve it for being so sleezy with their scams (or at least Eddy, and the other two ed's are unfortunatly along for the painful ride)

But with the Yogmans Robot did nothing to desurve thier hatered but simply be Robot. (although IMO they should explain alittle more about why they hate robot, weihter they hate all machines or just him. though It's probably just him and the fact that he's an outcast seeing ashow they know enough about computers to give him a virus. there i go answering my own questions again  )

Did anyone notice that the Comp Sci teacher was played by one of the original "Kids in the Hall"?

I was not expecting him in a Cartoon Network production.

And I also miss Maurice LeMarche. He played Principal Madman well in the pilot. Oh well.

All right, today's episodes were better than last weeks, but overall I'm still not a fan of the show. Some of the stuff I liked:

1. Cubeneudo.

2. The stuff with the computer malfunctioning and the principal who was "infected".

Interesting that the stuff I liked didn't even involve Robot Jones.

Too bad they didn't have any of the Gameboy/NES-esque music. Everything else ranged from ok to boring. I don't like those two boys either. FOr that, I find the show a bit mean sprited.

BTW, the game on CartoonNetwork.com is nice.

Ahh ... Rubik's Cubes. I still have one; it's sitting on my bookshelf right now.
I enjoyed Cube Wars, especially Robot Jones's hullucination. I think the ending was unsatisfying, however. Sickness was ok. I don't like the Yogmans, I think they're too irritating and pointlessly cruel to be enjoyable villains. Although, I guess that could be the point, since in real life, bullies are irritating and pointlessly cruel.
I like the style of animation in this series. It reminds me of Schoolhouse Rock.

Cube Wars: Eh, it was okay. When Jones was hallucinating though, that was out 'n out wierd oO; And I dunno why, but I like watching Jobes freak when he gets upset (spasming, glowing yellow and red, etc). *shrugs*

Sickness: An improvement. Principal Madman was funny with the flourescent light bit. Jones' "sneezing" looked funny too. But what waS under his eyes? An oil leak? I definitely liked this one better than the first.

Overall: This week's were good, but last week's were better. 3.5/5.

I didn't really enjoy tonights episode all I saw was Sickness though, Robot Jones just didn't snag me when it preimered a year ago as a short... I know the animation is "original" but I can't bare to watch it, it looks so 10 dollar budget! And the story just is so unappealing to me, a 14 year old robot? Please, he could finish every class in a day, why is he being kept back? And the Yogmans, what are those things on their heads!? Anyway the only thing I like is the Pac-Man shirt on one of Jone's friends... Not sure which! Sorry to sound harsh but I don't think this show is CN materiel o.o I prefer PPG

'CUBE WARS':This episode reminds me of the 1980's (because of everyone being obsessed with the rubix cubes and how they dressed). When that cube thing started talking, my sister and I were reminded of that stupid "Rubix: The Magic Cube" cartoon. It gave us a good laugh and for that, I give this episode 5/5:D. I also liked the twist ending of the Yogman brothers winning and not getting caught. It really makes you sympathise with poor Robot Jones.

'SICKNESS': The "we never had interface" line really suprised me! This episode was a lot of fun to watch and those stupid Yogman brothers finally got punished for something *YAY*
I gave this one a 5/5 also.

Very clever, I must say.

"Cubik, the Amazing Rube" was a reference to Rubik, the Amazing Cube, an actual '80s corporate tie-in cartoon character.

Principal Madman has an uncanny resemblance to America's greatest enemy of the 1940s...I think it's the hairdo and the mustache that's the length of his nose. (I think he's just as insane as you-know-who as well-his robot getup was hilarious!)

Mr. Mitchell's Ping-Pong, hockey, and soccer games are references to early video games of the late 1970s-early 1980s, which were just variations of Pong. It wasn't until Space Invaders that the Japanese developers tried to do things differently from the Americans.

We've met three more important characters-Principal Madman, who is an authority figure, but an insane one, and the Yogman Twins, who just want to make Robot Jonessssss' life misssssserable. (I think the things on their heads are those funny hats Devo wore in the "Whip It" video.)

Man, this episode really resonated with me. The characters seem to be junior-high age, and it was set smack-dab in the early 1980s, when I was in junior high.

Yes, the Yogmans are wearing Devo hats, and Devo-style music plays whenever they're on screen. I was the class Rubik's Cube solver (and other puzzles), and remember watching cube masters on "That's Incredible" (parodied as "That's Amazing" in this episode), so that hit a good chord with me too. The dancers doing the robotic stuff also is right from that time period, and the early computers and video games. However, there was some visual mistakes with those early games. "Hockey" should have had a square "net" and "Soccer" should have had two paddles! It's true! I had a pong/hockey/soccer videogame system by Atari (predating the famed Atari VCS/2600)! Even had an Odyssey in the 1970s -- it was amazing; there were TWO dials, and its Pong variant allowed you to use the inner dial to move your paddle closer to the net! A whole new dimension to game play! Everyone in the neighborhood wanted to play!

I still remember the day a friend of mine called me to tell me he'd just been to the Straw Hat pizza parlor and saw a new videogame called Breakout. He explained it as "like Pong but for a single player." I couldn't quite figure out how... at least until I saw it and was suitably amazed. But anyway, this all pre-dates the time of Robot Jones. Pac-Man indeed was new in that time, as referenced by "Dot-Man" in this episode. I didn't quite understand Pac-Man when I first saw it. I thought you had to time hitting the ghosts just right in order to eat them -- your mouth had to be wide enough. I think that, therefore, Pac-Man was the first video game released for which I had to read the instructions to understand it! Seems silly today...
