My friend just had his first baby last night and amoung my hometown friends of heroes, vagabonds, and adventurers that I grew up with, he's the first to bring forth the next generation of us.
It's weird... I used to compete with this guy on who had the better ninja.
Finally we had it out.
Something that never happens in D&D.
Two characters go head to head. My dark elf ninja vs his fighter/mage with his bag o' ten thousand magic tricks.
And in the end, it came utterly down to the last strike. Perfect samurai finish and it all depended on who hit first.
Our skilled warriors had each run out of magic tricks and it came down to the sword. I tell ya it couldn't have been written more perfectly, but that's what the dice deemed.
D10 in hand, we through down our dice..... our charcters bright blades flashed, inscribing the final arc on all tomarrows........
.....I beat him by one point.
Our characters landed, but as mine kept his poise, Jim's fell in the dust.
It we epic amoung my friends and I, and I thought about the Batman vs Superman fight. My character went to his and raised him up by the scruff of his shirt.... "I want you to remember this Edrick.... the only man to ever defeat you..... was me."
My katana went up, and the game ended, our characters zapped back to whatever realm we were in before.
And now he's a father!
Please, all..... gaze upon the cutest lil' tike in the realm... Halee (http://home.wi.rr.com/jiml/).
Heh... if the subject ever comes up infront of her tho, I'll tell her her daddy beat me.... no contest. ;)
