View Full Version : Eyecatcher Voice Actor / YYH Capture -_-

Hey... as I hear more and more of whoever is the AS eyecatcher announcer (right now for YYH), I'm thinking he's sounding exactly like the dub voice of Jet from Cowboy Bebop... He was also the narrator in a few other AS commericals/promos including one of the promos for Cowboy Bebop (four bounty hunters, one ship, one destiny, for example)... Also listen to the "the spirit detective takes over AS" promo... it's the same actor.
Is he Jet or not? ... anyway... I also captured this picture and I thought it might make a good avatar .. it's pretty cool -_-

Yeah it's Beau Billingslea who plays Jet, narrator from Outlaw Star, someone on Gundam 0083 among many other roles.

Why did AS cut out the Hakusho Eye Catchers?
Steph

What eye catchers? Are they holding out on us again? Say it isn't so! NoOoOoOo
*Strikes a melodramatic pose* All is lost! The darkness is clouding my eyes...
To...much...coffee... *Sweatdrops*
Heh, sorry... what kind of eye catchers?

Oh, Thanks! I was a little hyper this morning. Please forgive my ungodly perkiness. X.x
Yeah, I've seen that one. What other ones are there?

I think thats the only one for Yu Yu Hakusho...
Cowboy Beop has some strange ones.. a different one for Each episode..
Steph

One for each episode? Wow. You know what? Just thinking about all the time the writers, animators, sound actors, etc. spent working on just one show makes me really appreciate the shows. To me, Cowboy Bebop has some of the finest animation and I only hope I'll be apart of the animation creation one day
Hmm...I wonder if they ever had an eye catcher for Outlaw Star.
*Smiles* A little midget Gene Starwind with his castor running around with Jim chasing him would be extremely entertaining to me! But then again, my mind is on the level of a 3 and a half year old sometimes. -.-!

Perhaps FUNi thinks we're sick of them?
Another reason may be because the eyecatchers come on the DVD/VHSes, and the DVD/VHSes for these later episodes have not come out yet (they come out in 10 days, I think).
And that weird "Get ready for Yu Yu Hakusho" intro is also on the VHSes.. which is probably why you haven't seen any in recent episodes for the same reason as the eyecatchers..
OR maybe I'm wrong.

*Pouts like a child*
I thought the little Yu Yu eye catcher was cute... stupid people THINK they know what we want... but they don't...
I really don't want to go out an buy all the episodes on DVD or VHS... *Sighs*
Hey... you all see to be smart people who know a lot about anime and stuff... I've already asked this question somewhere else but I haven't had any replies yet and I'm incredibly impatient so I'm going to ask you guys...
"I'm new to the Yu Yu and Cowboy Bebop thing and like most people I've only seen the episodes shown on AS. Besides the episode movies are there any Yu Yu or Cowboy Bebop movies?"
I keep on hearing yes and no on all the other boards I've been to and I'm about ready to scream!

*Smiles* I still want to see a midget Gene running around though...

By: Galvatron,
Why did AS cut out the Hakusho Eye Catchers?
I hope Willim's Street is not cheating on us again or does not want to give us hints.

Well it could be that they need to shortin the time of that anime so it does not take too long to run, or does not want to make any hints for the whole series untill the last episode.

Midget anime characters are SO kawaii! :D :D :D :D
By midget, I take it you mean the SD nature of the characters in the eyecatches? SD being Super Deformed?
Steph

Heh... SD... right... that's what I meant... ^_^!
You know, someone e-mailed me after reading my message and told me I was rude and I was not politically correct. To that person and anyone else who found my colorful vocabulary offensive... I'm sorry your knee high in polictically correct bull.
I refered to something short as a midget... its not like I dressed up a *dwarf* as a oompa loompa and made them run around so people like YOU could laugh at them...
However, if I really did offend anyone then I am extremely sorry.
I don't think the time an eyecatcher takes up is significant enough to cut it out. Maybe it has joined the thousands of "LOST EPISODES" in the Anime Graveyard.

We send Cartoon Network the eyecatchers on all our properties (DBZ,DB,and YYH) as well as the openings and that weird "Get ready for Yu Yu Hakusho" intro. Whether they use them or not is their call!

Espically considering that the eye catchers for DBZ are removed on the DVDs and VHS... -_-
