It dosen't make sense to me. Why are they going show the episodes out of order? It sucks for someone like me who hasn't seen the entire series before. To me, showing them in order just makes sense. Does anybody know why they are doing this??

Because this is like the fourth run so why not spice things up a bit.
They're doing this because in September we're getting new shows, and they're trying to show things that new viewers might find interesting. It's not necessarily the best strategy, but this Marathon will get WAY better ratings than CB has been getting recently.
And if you really NEED to see it all the way through (it doesn't have a ton of recurring storyline elements, and I think they're being shown back-to-back this weekend anyway, IIRC), then get the DVDs like Ikwig did so you don't have to complain... we can't help that you missed it the other 3 times it played through. Not trying to be mean here, just saying, don't complain about them doing something a little different that might actually pull in some more new viewers as their friends tell them to watch this really cool show Saturday night.

I thought there was only 26 episodes or something like that, are they making more shows for September?

They meant that more stuff is coming to ASA in September, not more Bebop.

dude, the episodes they are showing sum up Spikes fights with vicious, which is important to the show.
i can't say much more without spoiling the whole series for you

I wish they'd show Hard Luck Woman fourth (after Jupiter Jazz, before Real Folk Blues) instead of... not at all. The first episode doesn't tie into things much more than any of those other episodes, and Hard Luck Woman actually does affect things in the final episodes. Although it doesn't deal with the whole syndicate thing, it's definitely a "final" episode for the relationships among the crew members before the villain is confronted. Then again, you do kind of have to see "Speak Like a Child" first... so I dunno.

The opening to "Asteroid Blues" is important, and it also gives some forshadowing to the rest of the series.

Ehh I bought mine one at a time as they came out, and have never regretted it... the DVDs are AWESOME.
And by "new shows" I meant Cartoon Network would acquire shows (meaning actual an series, not an episode) that haven't been on Toonami or Adult Swim ever, we should see at least one new show coming in September, as Pilot Candidate happens to have its last episode playing the last weekend in August...
