ABC Family, Turner Classic Movies and the Cartoon Network were among the top winners at the BDA Design Awards honoring broadcast promotion and design. Meanwhile at the Promax Awards, TV Land landed the highest honor, and NBC walked away with a clutch of awards for its promotional work on its Olympics programming. The awards were announced during the Promax & BDA conference last week at the Los Angeles Convention Center. On Thursday, ABC Family and Turner Classic Movies won two Gold BDA awards each for in-house on-air design. The Cartoon Network took home the Judge's Choice award for its work on the Adult Swim block. The Adult Swim campaign also won a Gold award for on-air overall package. ESPN won a Gold in the sports overall package category, while Showtime won a Gold Overall in the image print category for its "Queer as Folk" campaign. VH1 won the topical print category Gold Overall award for its VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards campaign. (Marla Matzer Rose)
