new dexter

i was wondering which dexter people like more. the new one or the old one. personally I like the new ones more.

The new Dexter is much more abstract than the old ones. Also, The humor is much different in the New ones.

Definitely the old one. My little brother feels the same way. He used to love that show, but he thinks the newer episodes are stupid.

Same thing (although not as much) with Johnny Bravo. I liked the old one better. I still watch the new ones sometimes, but I just liked Johnny better when he didn't get his butt kicked by EVERYTHING. He is a complete moron in the newer episodes. He's never been very bright but he can barely tie his freaking shoelaces in the newer show. He also used to say really funny (sometimes even clever) things to "badguys" but now he gets his head stuck in pickle jars. :rolleyes:

The old one! :D I personally don't like how the characters are drawn in the newer episodes. :shrug: That won't keep me from watching Dexter's Laboratory though. :) I just don't see why they had to change how the characters are drawn after the years Dexter's Laboratory has been on. :rolleyes:

The old one. Not only did the old one seem wittier to me, but Dexter looked a lot less like a smooshed feminine penguin. I just can't stand the new Dexter's VA... I hope they leave Dexter alone and stop ordering new episodes.

Yes the old one was better. The jokes and animation worked better. And Dee Dee never made me want to smash her head in with a lead pipe until now.

As far as Dexter is concerned, the older the better. Season 2 was great, but not nearly as good as Season 1. Seasons 3 and 4 took the series into a ridiculous cliche direction that's an absolute disgrace to old time fans.

Season 4 is at least watchable, something I can't say for the train wreck that was Season 3. But NOTHING and no one will ever be able to match the magic touch the good ol' Genndy put on the show. I don't much care for Dexter's new VA, not because she's bad-- she's not-- but just because Dexter's is a very unique voice, and no matter how hard she tries she'll never be able to match up exactly to the old one. She has improved between the third and fourth seasons, though.

Most of the new character designs are minor changes and thus not a huge big deal, but I HATE what they've done to Dexter's Dad. Where did the arm hair go? Argh.

well, it needed a shakeup.. i like how they still have mordecai and the principal around from the older episodes..I still wish lalavava /mandark's sister would make a showing?

btw , in 2-3 years dexter's show will be 10 years old or so...

the art is different, and less 3-dimensional, yes.. but everythign looks much more futuristic.. and mandark's own lab stuff has never looked creepier and more fitting his character.

Dexter's dad is a bit funnier in this one, and not just in look... i hope he never discovers that lab .. i think he'll probably wind up fighting dexter for the lab in the final , final episode...

I've also liked some of the newer ones , like the one where dee dee shuts down the lab and pretends to be mandark.. so funny.. and the one where they're fused i'd wished they'd show more of, like sole brother...

The old ones because the animation on the new ones stink and they changed Dexter's voice actor!:mad: They should just stop using computers and go back to the original drawings!

It's really hard to say, since the old episodes and the new ones have had some great episodes and some terrible episodes. I have to say the old ones, on an account the newer 3rd and 4th season episodes have had more clunkers then the 1st and 2nd season episodes. "Monstroi Dee Dee" and "Sore Eyes" were so terriblely unfunny and boring that even the worst second season episode couldn't compare with them.

And while I'm on the subject, why don't they make more mini-episodes with Monkey and the Justice Friends? That might spice up the show.
