DAMN!!! I just got really sucky news, and I feel like complaining about it. Colorado is banning any and all fireworks this year because of all the stupid forest fires. The state is worried that there will be too many idiots out there that will create even more fires, and that the state wont be able to handle it. I think that this is rediculous because there are always forest fires in Colorado during the summer. This is really crappy because my cousin's birthday is on the 4th and we always do fireworks and it's always a lot of fun. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should do, please i beg of you to tell me.

As much as I love to see stuff get blow'd up, I have to say that they are probably right to do this. You say that there are fires in Colorado every year...maybe that's helped by the fact that people do dumb stuff like use fireworks? Even if it's not, playing with fireworks in a tinderbox is probably not a good idea. Think about it...on one hand, the government could let us all blow up some stuff cuz it's pretty, on the the other hand, that could cause a lot of damage to forests, homes and buildings, and kill many people and animals.
Fireworks are illegal for use by the public in Mass. but we can go see displays that are run by people who take the necessary precautions. I know it's not the same but maybe you should try it.

I have to agree, nobody wants a big tragedy on Independence day, it's a reasonable action.

Big deal. Here in Texas, this happens every single year, without fail. June rolls around and we get slapped with a burn ban. It's shame, really.

Yeah now I'm waiting for the ever popular Texas drought phase to start. It's already hotter than heck here. As for the fire works if you can't find a public fireworks show that you can watch just go watch a movie. You know what they change is good. (well sometimes.)

Looks like the only way you can get any fireworks is to get a girlfriend over to your house.

Ayup, I'm living out in the country where we can buy and shoot off fireworks any dang time we please, but it's been dry for weeks. I get a little worried every time we burn our trash out back the winds going to shift and my old woodshed and the fruit trees are going to go straight to hell just like that [snaps fingers].
It's the environmentalists' fault. Consider it: they utterly ban logging, our national forests get choked with trees, and then some whacko lady forest ranger sets hundreds of acres ablaze burning a "Dear Jane" (female equivalent of a "Dear John") letter in the middle of the woods. If we were allowed to cut down a few trees here and there and thin out the herd, maybe things like this would be a lot less frequent. Also, a lesson to you dippy dames out there who want to dispose of a letter from some guy who jilts you--just flush the bugger down the toilet! ;)

Gotta love the south, we love our intense humidity that lets us have fireworks whenever we want. I feel bad for people in colorado, while I understand making private fireworks illegal, public fireworks displays are attended by fire trucks and police, the forests would probably be safe from those. The real worry should be about idiots who will set off bottle rockets in the middle of the woods.

Where I live everybody blows off fireworks, so I guess its not really a big deal for us, unless you live within the city limits you are not allowed to blow the things off, but I don't really care for the fireworks in July, because its to light outside to really enjoy them.
