Hi, I only saw a few episodes and they seem pretty good. What is the TV rating for PPG?? Is it ok for adults to watch too? So far I like the one with orange hair the best (Blossom is it?).
The only episodes I saw so far:
1. The one PPG was knocking out people's teeth to get money.
2. Mojo JoJo gave a group of kids Chemical X.
3. One of the girls was wearing glasses and didn't like to be ridiculed.
4. Him was sending riddles to find the kidnapped professor.
5. The one that just finished with the giant blowfish.
Also to note, this is the only Cartoon Cartoon I have seen. Besides CCF, when is PPG usually on?? I wouldn't mind seeing more episodes of it. Are the DVD's any good?? Is there any cool PPG merchandise?? Any feedback will be appreciated.

It's on Toonami at 5:30 PM during the week. It is also on other times of the week.
The 3 Powerpuff Girls are.
Blossom- Red Outfit
Bubbles- Blue Outfit
Buttercup- Green Outfit
It's a Y-7 rating.
Adults can watch it.

I was surprised to see that The Powerpuff Girls movie got a PG rating. What kind of content gave it this rating?
Are their any celebrity voices in the PPG cartoon or the movie?? How are the DVD's?

> The one PPG was knocking out people's teeth to get money. <
That's 'Moral Decay', & Buttercup was the culprit. It's to the PPG creator's credit, that they periodically remind us the Girls aren't perfect. There's also some eps where Blossom and Bubbles misbehave.
> Mojo JoJo gave a group of kids Chemical X. <
That's 'Mo Jonesin'. Not considered one of their best eps, but that Captain Planet ref is funny.
> One of the girls was wearing glasses and didn't like to be ridiculed. <
'Bubble Vision'
> Him was sending riddles to find the kidnapped professor. <
'Him Diddle Riddle', which was broadcast in the USA for the first time just yesturday (June 21.)
> The one that just finished with the giant blowfish. <
'Uh Oh Dynamo' (boy, Townsville really took it's lumps that time!)
> It's on Toonami at 5:30 PM during the week. It is also on other times of the week. <
It's also been premiering new eps, Saturdays at 9:30 AM, on WB.
> I was surprised to see that The Powerpuff Girls movie got a PG rating. What kind of content gave it this rating? <
According to the blurb, it's for "Non-stop animated action." The clips I've seen *do* indicate the movie would be rather too intense for younger children, and that there's some scary moments.
By way of welcoming you to PPG fandom, allow me to point out a website where you can read transcripts of every ep that's been broadcast so far (and a few that haven't):

Also, here is (in my opinion) the best PPG Fanfic site on the web:

Don't forget http://www.ppgworld.com! Is there an Ed, Edd, and Eddy site that is as up-to-date?

Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate the two links, but I'm not into fanfiction stories. Are there any PPG merchandise? I noticed they have DVD's. Are they any good?

PPGWorld isn't a fanfiction site. It's a PPG fansite with lots of info. Also Wall-Mart is going to have some new stuff next Saturday.

There is TONS of PPG merchandise. The DVD's are pretty cool too.
Oh, by the way Jimmy Kustes, There is an updated Ed's site, here it is. It rules! http://nav.to/eddzone
You should try tuning in to Ed Edd n Eddy too. Another great Cartoon Cartoon. Its on at bad times right now (8:30 AM and 11:30 PM) But in July the times they show it will be much better.

Jimmy, I was referring to Sharklady's links. I'll check out ppgworld.com once this Dragonball Z block ends. EDIT: They have shown so many PPG commercials. How could I resist?
Ed man, can you provide a link so I browse through the PPG merchandise??
Also, I know nothing about any of the other Cartoon Cartoons so that is why I have never seen Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The reason I am able to watch The Powerpuff Girls is because they explain where they came from in the intro.

Heres a link to the cartoon network shop: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/shop/ppg/
Also, Amazon.com should have plenty of stuff. And you can find PPG merchandise in a Toys R Us, Walmart, or any other department store really.

I suppose PPG got the Y-7 rating in addition to what was said, and the general stuff-violence, some themes may not be suitable to young children, scary villains, etc.
I can't deny this is a good show for adults too. Like all true classic 'kids' programming, there's plenty of inside humor for the grownups. ;) Besides, it has something called PLOT in its eppys, which helps a lot to make adults like it rather than have it be a cheap gag factory.

PPG merchandise ... what kind of? Kiddie stuff ... there's a good bit of it out there. Stuff more suitable for adults ... that'll be a bit tougher to find.
Some of the cooler things (IMHO) that was out there ... the light sculptures, the pillow fight bed bank, the Applause plushies and PVC's (they're pretty on-model), shirts suitable for guys, the DVD's, the 45 and 33 version of the albums (pressed in pink vinyl, no less) ...
Some of the lesser desired items (IMHO again) ... the waffle iron, the flower pots ...
-- Kane ... but until B.L.O.S.S.O.M. gets past the vapor-site stage, I ain't got any pics.

Yeah, that one is pretty good. I got it a link on the Toon Zone's link page. Wish it was easier to navigate, but it is the best Ed site on the net. Be sure to tell anyone from the Edd Zone to stop by The Fansite message board!
Yea that website is good. Atleast they update it. And have good info. So not bad.
Well here's the official rating for the Powerpuff Girls, Y7FV (Y-7, No one youger than 7, FV, Fantasy Violence
This program is designed for children age 7 and above. It may be more appropriate for children who have acquired the developmental skills needed to distinguish between make-believe and reality. Themes and elements in this program includes more combative fantasy violence or comedic violence, or may frighten children under the age of 7. Therefore, parents may wish to consider the suitability of this program for their very young children.
Sometimes the rating is TV-G, Don't ask me why
Most parents would find this program suitable for all ages. Although this rating does not signify a program designed specifically for children, most parents may let younger children watch this program unattended. It contains little or no violence, no strong language and little or no sexual dialogue or situations.
If you want to check the content press the "display" button on your remote control if it has a v-chip. If not look on the top-left corner as the show begins.
Here's how I think the ratings go
TV-Y,TV-Y7, TV-Y7 FV- Ussually like a G rated more
TV-G, occaisionally TV-PG- Ussually like a PG rated movie
TV-PG, occaisionally TV-14- Ussually Like a PG-13 rated movie
TV-MA, TV-14- Could be like a R rated movie
Underneath the ratings of TV-PG, TV-14, and TV-MA you may find the letters V, L, S, or D below is what they stand for and the amount or intensity ussually corresponds with the rating.
V= Intense, or Neutral Violence
L= Mild, Coarse, or Strong Language
S= Sexual Situations, Sexual Activity or Explicit Sexual activity
D= Mild, Neutral, or Intense Sexual Dialogue (never under TV-MA)
So that's my ratings guide.

Just wanted to welcome you to the club, JTurner. :) I'm a big Powerpuff Girl fan myself. I only have one of the DVDs, but I have most of the episodes (minus any I don't like) on tape. I have a large Blossom plush, and a small Bubbles, as well as the beanie dolls and keychains that used to be available at the Warner Brothers Studio Store before it shut down. :( There's other items I have too. I won't go into too much detail 'cuz I don't wanna bore ya. :)
Anyhow, welcome! Hope you stick around! :)
(By the way, I'm a bigger Pepe Le Pew and Penelope fan than Powerpuff Girls...as you can tell from my choice of nickname :))

I've got one of those little Mojo Jojo beanies, which I had to bid on at eBay because, even when the WB stores were in buisness, none were close to my place of residence.
The beanie is reasonably on-type, especially since I cut off that ridiculously short cape & replaced it with a longer one I made from purple velvet (this may reduce the resale value, but, unlike Lenny Baxter, I don't buy toys as investments. Anyway, Mojo seems happier now that he has a cape he can wrap around himself whilst laughing villainous laughs.)

Another episode (I noticed I didn't mention it in my first post) I saw is where this girl became Mayor and declared crime legal.

That episode is "Bought and Scold"

In 'Bought and Scold', the aforementioned girl is Princess; a spoiled rich kid & regular nemesis of the Powerpuffs (she once aspired to be a Powerpuff herself, not from alturism but because she wanted the same adoration the Puffs command. When Blossom first refused her application, saying "Money can't buy you superpowers!", Princess replied "Yeah? Tell that to Batman!")

I just noticed that The Powerpuff Girls is on Kids WB. I just finished one episode where they go to Citiesville and hate it there. Is this a popular episode because it didn't seem that good.
Sharklady
06-24-2002, 10:45 PM
It's title is 'Town and Out', and no, it's not considered one of the very best eps. But a lot of fans do find the Cityville mayor an interesting contrast to Townsville's ("Let me tell you some words...")

After that one was one where Mojo was babysitting the girls. That one was so funny.
Then on Cartoon Network, they had one where they went back in time to see the professor as a little boy that Mojo wanted to get rid of.

Ok, I actually have questions this time.
1. Why are they called "Powerpuff"??
2. Besides the games on CartoonNetwork.com, are they any other PPG games (including home console)?
I saw two more episodes today. One guy was controlling all these cockroaches (until it was discovered that the guy was a robot ).
The other one was where these three guys dressed up as the PPG and framed the originals.

1. I have no idea
2. There is a Nintendo 64 game, and (i think) 4 Gameboy games
Sharklady

To answer your first question: 'Powerpuff' was not their original name. Craig McCracken created 'em to star in a college animation project, and named them the Whomp*** Girls. When Cartoon Network expressed interest in putting them on television (initially as an installment on the 'What A Cartoon!' series), they predictably requested he change the title. I guess Craig appreciated the ironic potential in 'powderpuff' -a soft, fluffy noun which undergoes a radical alteration of meaning if you drop the 'd'.
BTW: the eps you describe are 'Roach Coach' and 'Powerpuff Bluff'.

I dont really know much about them but the Toon Zone Store (http://www.toonzone.net/store/) carries the PPG games (http://www.toonzone.net/store/games/powerpuff.html) and other goods.
Edit by Jimmy Kustes-replaced with TZ Store links.

I was wondering if the following episodes are on DVD (Sorry, I don't remember the episode titles):
1. The one where Mojo Jojo is babysitting The PPGs.
2. The onw where it's raining and they pretend they are fighting villains (with Buttercup as Mojo and The Professor as Bubbles).
3. The one where the girls go to Mojo for help to destroy the giant robot (he tells him that the girls must become evil and stuff like that).
One more thing: Besides Mojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, and Princess, are there any other villains have that more than one appearance in an episode?? I ask because it seems like Mojo is in almost all of them.

That's 'Child Fearing'. Not exactly the Girls at their most admirable...
> 2. The one where it's raining and they pretend they are fighting villains (with Buttercup as Mojo and The Professor as Bubbles). <
That one is noted for having the series' longest title: 'The Powerpuff Girls Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever' (BTW: it's Blossom who does the Mojo impersonation.)
> 3. The one where the girls go to Mojo for help to destroy the giant robot (he tells him that the girls must become evil and stuff like that) <
'Forced Kin'. Recently broadcast in the USA for the first time, and one of my new favorites.
But I'm afraid I don't know what eps are available on DVD.

Don't forget the Gang Green Gang- mean teens Ace, Grubber, Lil' Arturo, Big Billy, and Snake.
