What do you think the case is that the Powerpuff Girls have to solve?

A monster wrecking Townsville? Fuzzy Lumpkins gone crazy? Could it be "Him"?

What do you think?

Having read the transcript, I already know, and I'm not telling- you'll enjoy the ep more if you find out for yourself.

I'll just say, this is one ep you'll probably enjoy in any case. :)

Found some little in-jokes:

1) The man in the soda ad at the subway entrance looked like Him.

2) The kid driving the car was Jim from the "Mime for a Change" episode.

3) The Two Ms. Keanes--Didn't the Two-Headed Lake Monster ask Samurai Jack that question in "Episode XV" of his show?
("Which one is telling the truth," etc.)

4) 360 on the building canopy--360-degree angle (looked like Blossom performed on at the clock tower to attack the monster from the top of his head.)

I saw the "Professor will pay" punchline coming at 10 parsecs, but what a delivery!

And it was the first time a PPG episode didn't end with the familiar "So once again, the day is saved...etc." and the three 'Puffs with wide-eyed, blank looks on their faces!

It wasn't the best episode EVER, but it was really good. My fave parts and things I noticed:

- Even though it was a gag(A funny one at that), does Buttercup doing better in a test than Blossom really make sense?

- The Mayor DOES know some facts, I see.

- Him has a day job?!:p

And yes, that was a great ending. What sucks is that I accidentally had it spoiled for me when I saw a topic about it on a message board.:( But I still laughed. The narrator and girl's reactions were priceless.

Not A bad episode. The twist ending sure had me surprised. Even the narrator (Tom Kenny) was stumped. so stumped that he didn't go into his usual "The Day Is Saved, Thanks To The Powerpuff Girls" diatribe. I'm sure that's refereshing to most people who find it repetative.

By what I remember that's the first time the Narrator didn't say

"The Day is Saved" or anything close to that.

That was also his only line in the show. Certainly different.

The point of the SAT test was that the machine was only counting how many dots they scribbled. Buttercup answered more questions than Blossom which is why she scored higher, and Bubbles drew a flower out of 1,500 dots(or something to that effect), and that's how she scored so high.

The best gag was that they go to a commercial for 2 minutes and 45 seconds for one of the riddles.

Nobody mentioned the line borrowed from Rocky & Bullwinkle...

Just before we see the 2 Ms. Keanes, Him says "And now here's something I hope you'll really like..."

The best part was the announcer's ending. Hilarious.

I was slightly disappointed by the Ms. Keane riddle, just because I've heard that riddle before. I remember seeing it in a Superman comic with Mxyzptlk, among other places, so maybe it was a tribute. Blossom's explanation was good.

Did any one else notice the Pokeball in the SAT book?

Yea, I did. Hmm...What the heck would a pokeball be doing in a SAT book?

It looks like Pokemon are invading other cartoons.

Anything with Him in is pure gold to me. Him has the strength and power, but sometimes I feel that he just won't come out and actually fight the girls. I knew something was up at the end of the story, and I was right. I noticed that Him kept on saying that "the Professor will pay" over and over, so I knew that had some importance. All of the gags were funny and the expressions on the girls faces at the end were just too funny. I guess the narrator didn't say his normal line because the girls didn't really save any thing. All they managed was to get the Professor to pay. This is definately one of the good ones.

I knew you guys would like this episode. It did, however, hold one disappointment for me: the creators failed to correct an error that PPG fans in the UK noticed some time ago. Alan Back explains it in detail here:

http://www.rowdyruff.net/keane_puzzle_explained.shtml

Below is an excerpt:

"Two women, each looking and sounding exactly like Ms. Keane, are suspended over a shark tank. One is the genuine article, while the other is a phony. "Him" tells the girls that the real Keane will answer any question truthfully, but the phony will answer with a lie. The girls are allowed to ask them one question before choosing the one they think is real. If they pick correctly, her life will be spared; otherwise, both will be fed to the sharks.

The girls consider and discard a few useless questions before Blossom comes up with this:

"Ms. Keanes...who will the other Ms. Keane say is the real Ms. Keane?"
From Keane 2, she gets this answer: "She would say that I was the real Ms. Keane!" Keane 1 responds by saying, "And she would say that she was the real Ms. Keane!"

Blossom reasons it out and decides that Keane 2 is the real one, and "Him" concedes defeat. The problem is that she gets it dead wrong.

Suppose that Keane 2 (K2) is real and Keane 1 (K1) is the phony. Each one knows who is who. K2 knows that K1 will lie and call herself the real one. Since K2 tells the truth, she will say as much to Blossom. K1 knows that K2 will tell the truth and name herself as real. However, K1 will answer with a lie, saying that K2 will call her the real one. The result is that both Keanes will point the finger at K1, so it is only necessary to ask one of them. Note that these answers are the opposite of the ones given."

Tisk! I really thought Craig & company would've straightened it out by now.

Unless they're doing an experiment, to find out what proportion of their American audience will notice?

I didn't really like that episode. It Lacked the humor of most of the other episodes.
The only joke worth laughing at in that entire episode was when, Him made the Professor "pay" full price :D ;).
