That's strange. I was just in a Valvoline Instant Oil Change thing, and their machine had pink ones in it. These weren't the Easter ones either: just regular peanut M&M's with pink mixed in.

During the contest, they put out bags with the new colors so you could see what it would be like. There were bags that had the aqua, bags that had the pink, and bags that had the purple.

Purple swept the ballot with a whopping 41% of the vote. This is the first new color added to the M&M family since 1995, when Blue was voted in as the successor to the now-retired Tan M&M.

We should be seeing the triumphant arrival of Purple sometime in August.

M&M Tid-Bits

On my trip to New York City, we went to NBC Studios. There, they had all this candy, including different color M&Ms. I mean DIFFERENT too. They had gold, peach, dark blue, gray, light pink, magenta, etc. There was almost every color you could think of. Being from a smalltown in Ohio, my friends and I stood there looking at them forever. Never had we seen so any different colors of M&Ms.

Also, when they had the last contest, there was this guy in Cincinnati that was campaigning to keep the tan color. He said he called in EVERY DAY to vote for no change in color. This guy was REALLY into keeping the tan M&M.

ANYWAY, I voted for purple. The rainbow is complete!

There is a store in the mall that has been selling purple, pink, aqua and just about any other color of M&M for over a year now. It's the real deal. There is this M$M candy machine and you just pick the color you want. It's a candy store btw.

ALRIGHT! I'm not really that surprised. I was pretty sure that it would win. It's a fairly popular color...especially when it's up againt PINK of all things. Sorry, I'm not a big fan of the color. My stupid room has pink walls, (not MY choice..it used to be my mom's business room and that's the color she wanted) so that certainly doesn't help my opinion of the color...having to stare at it all the time..

I'm going to paint it eventually...as soon as I get off my lazy butt and decide to do it. :p

Go to Vegas, they have an M&M Store where you can get EVERY Color of Eminem's and some onscure Skittle's flavors.

And yes in Vegas they do have black M&M's. They also had purple, pink and aqua..not to mention white, tan, and any other color you can think of.

It's kind of stupid as they all taste the same anyway.

Yea I liked Purple because it blended with the others. Aqua and Pink were to bright.

I know the contest was supposed to be fun and all, but... I just don't get what the big deal is. :confused: Don't they all taste the same, no matter what color they are? And don't they change the colors all the time, for holidays, colleges, etc.? To be honest, I don't know what colors M&Ms are NOW -- they usually don't last long between the bag and my mouth. :p

But hey, if voting on the colors of M&Ms makes people happy and enjoy themselves, then more power to them. :D
