Anyone know the Dexter episode "Filet of Soul"? Up till now, I had never gotten the end with Dad saying, "How many times do I have to tell you...Early morning hours are Daddy's private bathroom time! MWAHAHAHAHAAA!" But today, I think I figured it out, and.....Well, it is NOT appropriate to post it here. Hopefully you can figure it out yourself.
Now you figure out: How in the world did they get that past the censors?
Well, actually the ratings board gave Dexter TV G.
Most parents would find this program suitable for all ages. Although this rating does not signify a program designed specifically for children, most parents may let younger children watch this program unattended. It contains little or no violence, no strong language and little or no sexual dialogue or situations.
So they can put in some jokes and/or gags that you can call slightly inappropriate. Anyway, I don't think kids will understand jokes like that.

I think it's a bit too ambigous to say if that was what he meant.

Another thing I can't believe they got away with:
In the episode of C&C "Slug Boy", in art class Chicken said "What are we drawin today? More waxed fruit?" Cow said "No! We've got him nude!" Chicken looks over and Slug Boy is on a table... NUDE! How the heck did they get away with THAT?!

Many artists draw nude people. Nothing is really wrong with that. In fact, the naked human body has every shape you can think of. If they didn't show anything nothing is really bad.

I don't know why nuditity isnt alowed on american TV. It doesnt make sense. There just body parts. No different than any other part of your body. Japan doesnt think nudity is a bad thing either, its perfectly fine on TV there...I saw a japanese show for little kids, and it showed a little girl getting dressed. She was naked before that. I mean, what could nudity really do to kids?!? I mean, Nudity isnt porn or anything, porn is totally different. Its just the freakin human body!

Yeah! Now that u put it that way, I agree! Some Pokemon episode that aired in Japan was banned in the US because Misty was nude in one seen! That's plain stupidity!

Are you sure? I've never heard of this before. I only know of 3 banned eps:
One of these eps was aired as a lost ep but was edited. The offending scene had James, disguised as a woman, using inflatable breasts. Another ep was banned because of a trigger happy warden. The last banned ep is 'Digital Soldier Porygon', the infamous seizure ep.

I don't recall Misty ever getting naked in Pokemon. I don't recall ANYONE getting naked in Pokemon.

I think he's either confused with the inflatable breasts episode(Which DID get aired in the US, with the scene cut), or an issue of a Pokémon manga that had a part of everyone in a shower taken out for the American version. From the pictures I've seen, the water covers up eveything most of the time, but you can see Misty's breasts for about two panels.
There was also a rumor going around that in a scene in the old Diglett episode where they all stand up in a hot tub with swimsuits(For those who know, it's the "Ash, shouldn't we put some clothes on first?" scene.)that the suits were edited on, and they were nude originally. The real answer is no. The suits were always there.
Pokémon's pretty tame even in Japan, isn't it?

Pokemon's *especially* tame by Japanese standards.
I suspect the Pokemon creators had it in mind from the start, that they were gonna market their show internationally.

For all you devoted 'Cartoon Cartoon' fans, there are some shorts that have been pulled after their original airings, meaning that what Cartoon Network had gotten away with in the early days of the originals, they realized afterwards that the content was a little too creative for viewers.
You see, CN no longer airs the Monkey short "Barbequor" or the Cow & Chicken ep "Buffalo Gals", mainly because of content that became unsuitable after their original broadcasts.
And you thought CN's "Looney Tunes" airings were the only ones with shorts dropped from the package. :yakko:

Barbequor wasn't pulled for content from what I've heard; there were some copyright issues with Marvel heroes they spoofed, apparently.(So why don't they get sued for the Justice Friends?)

Actually, I think I was confused with the inflatable episode. Also, the episode "Legend of Dratini" can now be seen here (http://pojo.com/pokemon.html) , believe it or not! It's just not on TV. It'll probably take a while to load, though. :(
Edit: Oh no! It's in Japanes! :( If someone could translate it to english, that'd be great! :)

Prehaps Marvel is less annoyed by that spoof. Or maybe they've made some kind of 'gentlemen's agreement' with Genndy.

Actually you can see that scene in the American version, but only in the graphic novels. While the Pokemon mangas are edited, the graphic novel versions are uncut and have 13-UP stickers on them. It's pretty funny actually. Pokemon: 13-UP, not for kids under 13! :D

I've heard they edited another card because of a perverted Muk. From what I've read, the girl on the card is dressed in 'Slutty girl' style which was apparently quite popular at the time the card was made. Her Muk was supposedly quite clearly looking up her skirt

I used to have that one. Sold it about a year ago. Had to cause I drooled on it almost every night!
There's a big difference between drawn nudity and "real" nudity. I mean really, they don't censor (or cut off :D) anything on statues or paintings. So I don't really think it's bad to see animated nudity. Although, nudity with real people is treated differently.
Anyway, you know in the Titanic 'that' scene was pretty long for brief nudity. I can't see how that got PG-13.
Anyone notice this thread is drifting off topic?

Naa, this topic is still on topic in a way.
If anything, Animated nudity should be considered not as bad. I mean, Its not real, its drawn. America makes no sense in some ways...but i still love ya good ol USA!
