Toon Zone News (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37897) has some interesting ratings results and it appears that two shows that some people here love to hate, are leading Cartoon Network to victory.

Thoughts? Opinions?

— By Lily Oei

NEW YORK (Variety) - Current box office champ "Scooby-Doo" proved to be a small-screen ratings winner last week for the Cartoon Network.

"Scooby" features aired during the cable channel's Cartoon Theater block, 7-9 p.m., June 10-13 as the various arms of the AOL Time Warner empire joined forces to help plug the June 14 release of the movie starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The Tuesday night broadcast of "Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase" was the series' biggest hit, beating all other movie competition in kids 2-11 and kids 6-11.

Compared with same slots last year, the network saw a 28% gain in kids 2-11, with nearly 1.5 million viewers tuning in. The older crowd also checked in, resulting in a 46% increase and yielding 322,000 viewers among adults 18-34.

The "Scooby" feature stunned the industry with a $54.2 million first-place bow last weekend.

It's going to get worse before it gets better...

Hasn't anyone ever heard of a backlash? When will the hating start? I want Scooby-mania to die! :D

Why won't scooby just go away? The movies I don't mind, the movies actually make fun of scooby doo a bit. In the Cyber Chase the gang meets themselves from the 70s. In Zombie island there a lot of scenes making fun of the show. The Alien Invaders one was pretty boring though. I haven't seen the movie yet, I know i'm going to be dragged to it at some point by some friend, but I agree with MDawng957, 'I want Scooby-mania to die!'

Yup.... -__-

Remember the Saturday Scooby Block?

4-5 straight hours of Scooby Doo coupled with about 4-5 airings within a 24 hour period -______-

They wouldnt dare pull that again with the way the shedule is now and how they've been getting ratings. They'd be fools.

But I guaranteee that one way or another, by the time the first season of "What's New, Scooby Doo!" is ready to air, we're gonna get a nothing but a boatload of Doo.... -_____-

And yeah, there's a double meaning in that last sentence... ;)

I don't like either of those shows. I've made anti-avatars featuring both. :p

Oh well...ratings are ratings I suppose.

EDIT: I haven't used my Scooby one yet, but I will as soon as the avatars are back.

I haven't seen the Scooby Movie yet and I don't plan to do so during its theater run. I'll check it out when it comes on video, but I'm just guessing it's bad.
I can see how it has regennerated interest in the cartoon for a few days, but like many, I hope the scooby fad dies a slow, painful demise. It's the same plot every time! Can't scooby supporters see that?! BTW, are there any scooby supporters whatsoever on this board?

I'll watch Scooby if I'm too sick to reach the remote control, as long as it doesn't involve Scrappy Doo.

That's about as close to being a Scooby supporter as I can get!

I should have done the same, but my curiousity got the best of me and I went to see it a few days ago with my little brother. It wasn't that bad considering that it was in fact a movie ABOUT Scooby and the gang. I don't think it deserves all the horrible reviews it's been getting, but I also don't think it was that good of a movie either. I mean give the writers a break! It's not like they had a lot to work with. Scooby Doo has never been a very complex or interesting cartoon, so what were these critics thinking the movie was going to be like? I think this movie was as good as can be expected considering the cartoon has always had such shallow characters and the same uninteresting plot every time. (If you liked the cartoon I see no reason why you wouldn't like the movie..I say this because there have actually been a lot of FANS that hated the movie. I don't understand that.) Considering that it was a SCOOBY movie, I thought it was alright. It has it's moments. Some surprises here and there, (specially the end) and some funny scenes...as well as some mocking of the earlier cartoon. On the other hand, I'm fairly easily amused so my little brother and I were laughing at all the stupid stuff. (It seemed like we laughed at everything that was actually funny, while no one else did. They all laughed at the incredably stupid stuff...like the farting scene...)
