Where do you find them?? The grocery stores didn't have them, and the dollar store had a cheap plastic one.

Suggestions??

What kind of piggy bank are you looking for? Amazon has some very cute ones but I don't think you would want it in your room.

Just a regular one where you can put change in it and unplug the bottom to take it out. Nothing fancy, just the usual kind.

I once had a plastic Big Bird bank. Big Bird was in his nest and he was holding a giant sack with a slot that went into the sack. And written on the sack was, "BIRD SEED." Oh, I had many a splendid laugh over that hilarious bank.

I never had a "piggy" bank. I was given a really old fashioned looking jar with a slit in the top. I think my dad liked this idea better because the idea of children, a porcelain pig, and a hammer probably made him uncomfortable.

Right now I have what is called a "change jug." Essentially, I take one of those crystal clear Zephyrhills gallon bottles and fill it with change. I don't smash it with a hammer, but I smash other things, like beautiful statues.

Some local craft stores may have them.

I've got one shaped like an outhouse, and it talks when the roof chimney or the bar on the door are depressed...picked it up a few years ago at the toy store at the Indian Mall in Jonesboro. Heeeeeeeeee-larious....

I throw my change at homeless people to see them scramble to pick it up. :D :D I am a sick human being.

If you don't mind painting one of your own, you could try a local ceramics/craft shop. I was able to get a Garfield bank at one - for a fee, I was able to sand it down and paint it at the shop, and have it fired in their kiln. I made it a few years ago, and still have Garfield - he sits on my desk!

::gushes:: Aaaawwww!!!

I had a plastic Minnie Mouse bank when I was younger. I had a heck of a time trying to get the bottom open too. I guess in retrospect, that's a pretty good thing - I saved a lot of money :D

Now I keep my money in a metal Sailor Moon bank - I'm regressing quite nicely, thank you very much :)
