I was wondering which show would you like to see be added or replace a show on Saturday night AS:
Trigun
Hellsing
Rurouni Kenshin
Beserk
Neon Genesis Evangelion
BEFORE making your choice read a short review on the 5 found here in Alphabitical order:

Then choose....
I personally would like to see either Trigun or Hellsing...

Though I know this is all a flight of fancy type of thing, I've seen the end of Berserk and NO WAY are they ever going to let that on. I just wish they made the rest of the series (The series is appearently a prequel to the manga).
I'd like to see Full Metal Panic, which is one of the funniest mech based shows in a long while. (Imagine if Heero Yuy went to school and people realised who much of a military psycho nut he was).
In fact, I'd love to see any series animated by Gonzo, who consistantly give excellent stuff.
FLCL might be too edgy, but it would be cool if they showed that as a mini-series.

I heard Trigun is a little silly in the start, so that's no good for ASA, maybe NGE or possible Gasaraki?

Obviously you misunderstood what someone told you about Trigun. It's very action packed by the hero himself is a bizarre dichotomy. While he seems like a goof who gets by solely on luck, he's actually the world's greatest gunfighter, who'd rather run than fight. So he does a lot of running. Basically the hero himself is quite the clown but often laughs to hide his feelings of sadness towards his tragic past. I mean, if your hero has $60,000,000,000 on his head you expect action. In fact there's only two episodes without action: Rem Saverem (The somewhat incomplete but very helpful origin of Vash) and Live Through (where Vash has to cope with the aftermath of the hardest decisions he's had to make before the final episode). Trust me. This show is chualk full of action.
Sides, Yu Yu Hakusho wasn't very action oriented the first five episodes.

I understand that Trigun is serious, but I have seen some footage and it looks like people would reject it before it can get "deep"

I would like to see NGE and Trigun on ASA, but as other have told me in the past threads, it will be a long time before they considered showing those.

Tirgun is an excellent series in my opinion, although I've heard the dub is terrible (I've only seen it subtitled).
What we now have to worry about is the fact that this thread may be closed solely for mentioning Trigun (which you would know if you had read the "Posts that will be closed/deleted" thread).

I've only seen the first two discs, and I was disappointed by the end of the second, but I still think Vandread might fit in well on ASA. Fun, flashy, and slightly suggestive, I think it would generate a bit of a following and be a guilty pleasure for a few. And while it's dried out for me midway, I'm still hopeful it will pick up again before the end.

I'll have to go with the majority and say Trigun. It seems to be the most logical choice from my point of view.

I'd like to see Trigun as well, same with Kenshin, and Ranma 1/2, at least the first few seasons. There isn't a ton of action I know, but it would still be cool to see it on TV. And when the 3rd tench OAV, and tenchi GXP are released in America, I'd rather see them on Adult Swim, so they won 't have to be edited so much.

:dot:
And I shall answer. Trigun is one of those anime that can appeal to almost everyone. It got action, drama, Western, Sci-Fi, and of course humor. Also, it has almost zero to nil Japanese references that would usually confuse the non-diehard anime watchers or non-anime fans. It also helps that it has a very likeable and sympathetic hero--Vash.
And IMHO, the dub is great.

I think the dub is decent as well, which is kinda scary considering that Vash is voiced by the Black Power Ranger. *BRRRRRRR*

I'm gonna go with Rurouni Kenshin, simply because I haven't seen the full series and it wouldn't be as butchered as a certain other series I haven't seen yet.

A very vicious and evil (at least he seems that way to me) vampire named Alucard works for an organization called Hellsing, hoping to destroy the armies of the night: artificially created vampires, as well as vampire mutations called Ghouls. One member of Hellsing is a young woman who is held hostage by one vamp. The only way that she can be saved is if Alucard... blows her away? While the vamps dead and the girl has a whole in her chest, Alucard drinks from her and turns her into a vamp, who really ain't keen on being a creature of the night, despite her newfound super-strength.
Alucard doesn't just face faux-vamps. He also must go up against interference from the Vatican (yes, that Vatican), who constantly send they're deadliest warrior, Anderson, after him. But how powerful is Alucard. And what threat has emerged that Dwarfs everything that came before. The answer: real old-school demons.
The best way to describe Hellsing is a weird mix of Vampire Hunter D (in atmosphere and vampires) and Cowboy Bebop (in action and style, and a bit of the music, such as the kick-ass opening theme). Man, calling something a cross between two things makes me feel like I'm pitching a B-Movie.
It consists of 13 episodes so far but I don't know if they plan to make another OAV.

I'd love to see The Critic back on the air. That's show hilarious. Unfortunately the flash episodes on Shockwave seemed to have stopped a while ago....
