Since CN is owned by the same people who publish Vertigo, which adaptions of mature-reader comics do you think would make good shows on ASA? My picks:

Preacher-The penultimate modern western.

The Invisibles-The ultimate conspiracy comic makes the "X-Files" look like kid's stuff.

Doom Patrol-Gotta love bizzare superhero stuff.

Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Sandman, Sandman Mystery Theater-Three words: Adult Swim Horror.

Planetary-This is actually in pre-production for live-action.

The Authority-Not a chance in hell. But I can dream, right?

Good calls on Preacher and Sandman... great stuff right there... in fact, Neil Gaiman's novels could also be well adapted. As for the Comics I'd like to see:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the way it should be done)
Crow (please make it different from the movie sequels)
Tank Girl
Robin (specifically the 1st mini-series, good darkness quotient)
Azrael
Any comicbook Bible (must use blood, and lots of begatting)

I'm sure there are so many other good ones, but unfortunately, I moved from graphic novels to novels right before high school and haven't looked back...

Webcomic Sinfest would rock. I love that strip. Road Waffles (also a webcomic) would be great in animation too.

Maybe a Penny-Arcade or 8-Bit Theatre comic?

Sinfest would make a great cartoon, as would The Class Menagerie. As for published comics.....I wanna see a Lenore cartoon. ^^

I'd also like to see TMNT and Tank Girl made into a cartoon for adult swim. I think they'd be perfect. It may be a tad sacriligious, but how about some Battle Pope!

I'd like to see:
The Sandman
Athena
Strangers In Paradise
Grendel (I would kill to see Devil By The Deed animated)

Definately Penny Arcade but one great one that a lot of people over looked is Powers (about superhero homicides). Plus Brian Micheal Bendis is working on a Spider-Man cartoon so it ain't completely out of the question. (Actually I heard Frank Oz will be directing a movie based on Powers). I would like to see the return of the Maxx, a very intelligent cartoon that takes directly from the comic. Top Ten would also rule. And I just wish they animated Lone Wolf and Cub and/or Uzumaki in Japan. They animated most other manga that I can think of.

Usagi Yojimbo... in letterbox. :p

I heard there was a 5 minute pilot of Space Usagi that was made 5 or 6 years ago... but I guess nothing ever came of it.

Sorry for being uniformed, but what comic is that? Is it related to Kurosawa's movie Yojimbo (based on Shakespeare)?

Indeed Adult Swim needs a Penny Arcade or 8-Bit Theater show, although I doubt Square would allow it.

And of course High Score. ;)

-Big Ben It's Stan Sakai's animal based B&W comic, set around 17/18th century Japan. The series stars... you guessed it... Usagi Yojimbo (Rabbit Bodyguard) as a Ronin, occasionally Samuri for higher, who began travelling around Japan after his master was slain in a battle many years ago. Of course, this usually leads him into a lot of towns and a lot of fights.

:p

The series, although it features cuddley looking characters, is very well made... and is the only comic I continually look forward to buying. The comic has one numerous awards and has even been used in schools/colleges by some to teach their students about ancient japan.

If you were a fan of TMNT, you may remember 2 episodes of season 3 that featured Usagi (although his comic and show characters are very different). The series was originally at Fantagraphics, and then moved to Mirage, and finally to Dark Horse comics... and even a TMNT comic crossover here and there. You can follow up on all issues as they are collected in TPBs. Space Usagi on the other hand is a futuristing series, based in the same universe, where THIS Usagi is a distant descendant of the original.
