Why doesn't CN buy Dr. Katz?CC aint getting any use out of it and they could put it right after Home Movies.

STOP WITH THE ****ing DR.KATZ TOPICS. Comedy Central alreadty has it, and plays it Sundauyy nights anyway. Topics like this and "bring the Critic" or 'Bring the Tick" piss me off.

CC hasn't played it in years, now.
But Soup2Nuts can't control that. CC still owns the rights and they're not gonna give them away. Shame.

I've followed this board for months and this is the first Dr. Katz topic I've seen, and I've never seen a Critic topic. Why does this board attack every person who suggests a show they'd like to see on Adult Swim? This isn't like Trigun or something that really has been beaten to death.
If Comedy Central does still own the rights to Dr. Katz (when they first pulled it, it happened so suddenly that I suspected at the time that they'd lost or hadn't renewed the rights, though I certainly don't know) Then the revitalized Home Movies would make them more likely to hang on to them, since it might drum up enough interest to start rerunning them again. Not that I have my hopes up for that or anything. Comedy Central has dropped every good show they've made in the last five years (other than The Daily Show), and now their production budget is so low the only way you can get a second season is to be something like "Insomniac".

I really miss Dr. Katz. That was one of Comedy Centrals best shows. They don't really show any of the cool animated shows like they used to on CC - just South Park, which is okay, but not great. They also used to have this show called Bob and Margaret, which was actually kind of funny, and they would run an animated block with that, South Park, Dr. Katz, The Critic and The Tick (which I never understood, because I thought it was a kids cartoon).

The Critic and The Tick would be great (so would duckman while were at it) But I would hate to see Dr. Katz. The look of Home Movies season 1 is bad, but Dr. Katz is much much worse. I can't even stand Ed, Edd n Eddy because of that horrid squiggly look. I realize the point of Dr. Katz is really the dialouge but ya know, I still have to look at it. If this were radio i wouldn't see a problem (literaly) but it would make me sick to have to watch Dr. Katz.

For those of you who don't remember Duckman from anywhere but Comedy Central, it was originally a USA cartoon on before Up All Night, when Gilber Godfried used to host.

I used to watch Duckman on USA.I remember the first episode even. The show had a few really great episodes such as the first one where Duckman thought noone cared about him or with the really ugly girl who became beautifal.

I've only been here for a month and a half, but that doesn't mean there weren't a lot of them before I got here. I think many of the shows people wish were on here were mentioned in threads like "Fantasy AS Lineup." Of course, it's also plausible and probable that threads for shows like Dr. Katz and the Critic popped up in the very early stages of the board quite often... Especially since Home Movies has been a staple of AS.
Of course, it also probably good to rehash old problems every few months.
And Duckman rocked the hizzouse, my brothahs.

I remember the first episode too. I think I recorded it somewhere. Now that was the best lineup, Weird Science then Duckman. The last episode I saw on USA was at 12:30 over 5 years ago. It was part 1 to teh return of Beatrix, Duckman's wife...

Weird Science came up because it showed before Duckman on USA. The name of the "scantily-clad chick" was Vanessa Angel, though her character was Lisa. She was also in the movie Kingpin with Woody Harrelson, Bill Murray, and Randy Quaid, directed by the Farrely Brothers, directors of There's Something About Mary, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou, and Blood Simple.
Speaking of which, wouldn't it be cool if they made a cartoon out of Wierd Science... and for that matter, out of The Big Lebowski??? Who could fault a cartoon about bowling hippies and vietnam vets on Adult Swim???

P.S. - This is just a little off topic, but it sure is fun.

it'd be impossible to make BL on CN.It just wouldn't be the same without the cussin plus it's one of those things that,IMO,is best as live action.I canm't imagine it as a toon.

Really? I like Squigglevision. I don't know if anyone remebers The Dick and Paula Celebrity Special, but it had some of the same voice actors as Dr. Katz, Home Movies and Science Court, and it was also done in Squigglevision. I think that it might be a cute addition to the ASC block.

P.S. - This is just a little off topic, but it sure is fun. Hate getting off topic here... but Werid Science was a really good show. ESPECIALLY the first 3 seasons... and then the 4th dragged on, and by the firsth all the good writers left and it just faded away. I was lucky enough to catch the last unaired episodes on Scifi one year, when it was being used to promote SLIDERS of all things.
Anyway... a year ago, FoxFamily got the rights to it... and I was really happy, because I wanted to tape a few episodes like the "Mr. President" one... but they edited out all the "revealing" scenes with Lisa. By that I mean... if she's in a low cut skirt or wasn't wearing a bra or something, and all innuendo. Nothing BAD... I guess you can't get away with that stuff on the Family Channel though. And they even edited out the bathing suit and 'digital pasties' shots from the intro... and didn't even air 2/3 of the episodes.
I want WS back the way it was intended to be. :(

LOVED Dr. Katz...would love to see it on AS but alas the bigger reality is Viacom VS AOLTime-Warner. It's like Godzilla VS King Kong
