A Little Too Adamant, eh?

Recently I've been noticing that JETBLACK87 has been going from thread to thread spending his time bad mouthing every show but Cowboy Bebop and eveyone who dislikes his favorite show. Now while once or twice I don't find that bad, the other times has began to bother me.

This thread is dedicated to providing help to people like JETBLACK87, attempting to kindly teach them how to argue a point without being overly cruel and immature. So please, if any of you have any words of wisdom for JETBLACK87 and other members like him, grace us with them.

And don't badmouth them or we only sink to their level.

Yes, I have noticed this. Its not really right, and if your reading this, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If they don't like Cowboy Bebop, boo-hoo, end of the world, big deal. But its no reason to badmouth everyone and everything.

He's entitled to his opinion as much as anyone else is. A normal poster making a thread to vote if he should be banned or not for simply stating his opinion (reguardless of how annoying and uninformed it maybe) is completely zealous and stupid. Wanna start a "Ban Mecha Washu" poll now? :p

I haven't witnessed him being "cruel," but then I haven't read all of his posts.
as long as he's not personally attacking someone, he should have the right to say he doesn't like something, even if he does say it over and over and over again at every possible opportunity.
if he annoys you, just put him on your ignore list.

I say give any poster who might of made a few bad posts 2 more chances and they screw up big time, then ban them from the message board.

Look bassist, it's a free country so if JETBLACK87 wants to go around bad mouthing every other show then CB, then I say let him, unless the Mods tell him to stop or warn him. Other then that there's no reason to hate. If it bother's you that much then just ignore the threads he makes. And their is no reason to ban people like him.

I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would appreciate if they support their opinion with maybe one sentence of why. In addition, they should post their opinion in a thread that actually has something to do with what they are talking about. Going into a thread about ATHF trivia, and just stating, "That show is stupid" doesn't seem relevent at all.

I completely agree. I don't think he should be banned, and I didn't mean to make this seem like it was aimed at him alone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

All I was trying to say, to people in general who have or who may make posts like he has recently, is that a little etiquette and tact goes a long long way.

If he gets out-of-line, believe me, the mods will definitely put a stop to it, until then, you just have to accept that there will be people on these boards that do things that can be irritating.

Personally I can't stand people like that. "That show sucks posts" are just absolutly pointless. There are like 3 or 4 shows in AS I completely dispise. I just review them... tear them apart with actual factual evidence and then be done with it.

People are entitled to opinions of course but unless they actually post nicely with reasons why they hate a said show I'd reply and argue the case out... its a shame people can't talk like human beings when it comes to disagreement.

If all they can post is "This show sucks.... you suck if you watch it." don't flame them... it takes up valuable board space, server bandwith and time that could be spent to better use...... like writing something, going to the bathroom, or even grabing some snacks or something.

I think that the bottom line is that there is a big difference between opinion and insult (nearly all of JETBLACK87's posts). Like hydrokarst said, going into a thread just to say a show stinks is just plain obnoxious.

He shouldn't be protected by "freedom of speech" for being an ass. I am sick of total losers using that excuse, or people defending them with the same. I hope everyone does use the "report" button on him.

Go Ravenger! :) Have to say I pretty much agree with you: if you don't like something that's you're opinion and that's perfectly fine; but if you want say you don't like it, tell us why (don't just say "because it sucks"). After all, the whole point of a board is "discussion", not "flame wars".

Okay, I guess I should say something mod-like in here...

Basically, I think that you should have the freedom to have any kind of opinion in here.

But, it's obvious that you do not have freedom of speech here, because there's swears that get bleeped out, and saying some things gets your post edited/deleted, and can possibly get you banned. That's the price you pay, but I don't think that it's a big one, esp. considering that it allows us to have discussions that aren't constantly interrupted by trolls and flamewars.

There's no problem with disliking a certain show/character/whatever as long as you don't act like a jerk. Don't beat people over the head with your opinion, and don't just go into every thread saying "ATHF SUX!!!" That's getting into trolling territory, which we've already seen enough of on these boards.

JETBLACK, I guess this is an official warning. It sounds like you want to change, so if that's the case, there won't be any reason for another warning or flat-out banning which I could give you if this continued. You might want to check out the Rules (http://forums.toonzone.net/misc.php?s=&action=showrules) if you haven't done that yet.
