New Tenchi... sort of

Get ready for one and a half new Tenchi series!
Well, word on the street is that they're are creating a new Tenchi OAV in Japan, in which the series creator says that Tenchi actually chooses between chooses a love interest (Of this I'm highly skeptica, but I'll let it go as long as it's not Sasami. I know she's 300 something years old, but I think on Jurai, it ain't legal). There's also a battle between Washu, Tsunami and Lady Tokimi.
As for the aforementioned half is Tenchi Muyu GXP, which... won't star Tenchi (Hey, I guess there really is no need for Tenchi). While the Tenchi cast might make cameos, the only recurring character looks to be Mihoshi, judging from the promotional art. It features young Seina Yamada, who is inducted into the Galaxy Police when they think he's part of the Masaki family. But is he. I hope he isn't, just for humour and plot twist's sake.

I've seen the first 2 episodes of Tenchi GXP. In the very first episode Rykoko makes a guest apperance, but you never seen her face, just her back, carrying her trade mark sake hung over her shoulder. Mihoshi's mom seems to play a fairly important part in GXP as well, but what that is hasnt been made clear yet.

Just for the record Yamada was NOT mistaken for Tenchi. the lady which runs into him (named Amane Kaunaq) and hands him the GP recruitment form knows that hes not Tenchi, she just handed him a note to give to Tenchi, him unwittingly joining GP was ment to happen. Don't worry about it being too goofy, the guy is a total clutz and makes Mihoshi look like a good luck charm. Yamada acts far differently, its hard to describe but even though Yamada is a total cluts, hes much less of a dork than Tenchi is.

I heard that Tenchi is supposed to be in there more than a cameo thougt, but i just wanna see the 3rd Tenchi ova :D

This is very old news. People have been speculating OVA 3 for many months now. From what I've heard, OVA 3 will revolve more around the three goddesses: Tsunami, Tokimi, and Washu. Washu may or may not know it yet but she is the goddess of wisdom in this realm. Why do you think Lady Tokimi is searching for her, and D3 said somthing along the lines of, "Indeed, it is fortunate that Tsunami and Washu are both in this dimension." I think most of the people who know about this are getting their information from the books written by the creator of the OVA's.

I've also heard rumors that a girl may be choosen by Tenchi. Then again, I've also heard just the opposite and that the series will not wrap up in OVA 3.

well ther was a recent intereview with the co-creator and he said tenchi WILL choose a girl in the series! and your right about the goddess war

also there will be a BIG role played by that guy in that epsiode 12 in that OVA, codename ZED right now, it is kinda interesting, :)

Well I can't wait untill it comes out and that I hope they will show it on Adult swim hoply with less edits and cuts.

I am excited, but just not the whole tenchi picking a girl part. I know I already said that in the toonami board, but this is how I honestly feel. One of the great things about tenchi was its bizarre love story, and we were always able to play out in our minds who tenchi would pick, I mean I know if I I don't like the new OAVs, I won't take them seriously like the third movie, but for me it just won't feel the same.

To Jonny Unusual, when you said looks like Mihoshi will be the only reoccuring role, I think you actually referring to her mother, all though I can't be sure. If it weren't for my stupid computer I would have downloaded a fan sub.
