Does anyone know how to make objects invisible with your mind? Also, if you disobeyed my comment, still don't post negitive replies.

Actually, there are lots of times when I look all over my pantry for something and it ends up being right in front of my nose. But I swear, I didn't see it there before! Would that count?

You probably did not notice it before. Your mind was playing tricks on you.

Listen, I mean like you think or say some magical words or something and the object of your choice starts fading away with sparkles to make the fading look more "magical". Has anyone ever seen this on TV? I saw it a few times.

Ever listen to Art Bell, Skarr? Maybe you should call in and ask, or something... That's is a better place to be asking such questions. Unless you're talking about TV tricks, which I doubt.

You mean a TV trick? Take two different film reels.

Reel A contains a still of a cow in a pasture.

Reel B contains a still of the exact same pasture, minus the cow.

Now, make a reel C of some sparkly effects. (I dunno, shake glitter in front of a camera or something)

Now, with modern film editing technology, you can simply splice A into B with a transition and just superimpose C over it while it happens. I have no idea how to do it with old 'frame by frame' techniques.

One time I put a glass plate into the dishwater and it became invisible.

I used my mind to do it, but I couldn't have done it without the help of my hand and the dishwasher.

Take a bow, hand and dishwater!

*Claps as hand & dishwater bow*

You mean like that illusion where you stare at your hand so hard a hole appears in it? (I forget exactly how it's done, though--I think it involves a cardboard tube, the sort that toilet paper comes on.)

Now what I'd like to do is will myself through time backwards, even if only for short distances, if anyone has theories on that.... ;)

hmmm.... trying to do some Jedi tricks are we... well.... here is what I think you have to do... and I am serious...

There are people out there, over in Asia, who can make a sudden force out of their hands to break things... It takes years and years of dedicated discipline... but here is what I think. Take all those people and fund them where that is their only purpose in life. And then take all those people and make them reproduce... repeat that process... eventually, due to genetic variability and adaptation, we should see people who can do strange things with their minds... but that would take thousands or millions of years... but eventually, it will be done.

Now to solve your problem, try carbonite freezing or something, and check up on humanity at around 5234 ad. I am serious....

say these magic words:

"rubber spoon, rubber spoon, rubber spoon, rubber spoon, rubber spoon, rubber spoon, rubber spoon, rubber spoon, yes"

Anyone can make anything invisisble by following these 2 easy steps:

1. Close Eyes. You should not be able to see the object that you wished to not see, therefore making it in-visible.
2. Enjoy!

Special effects were "discovered" by some guy {Forget his name. Figures. } who was trying to film a bus, but it ended up as a carriage on film. I think. My mind's on the fritz.
Since it was pretty much an accident.....that counts! :D

I dunno about disappearing, but you can make something reappear! Take your index fingers and hold them slightly apart from one another. Then look past them {dont' focus on the fingers}. You'll then create a tiny little flesh-colored ball in between your fingers! :D

Some one else who knows about Art Bell, neat. I can stand to listen to the show or go on his site because I always get freaked out. My friend got the government to send him some papers after following Art's Directions and most of it is vblacked out when it starts to get interesting. Anyway back to the question...

Look into Jpanese and Chinese magic, my friend(smae one who called art) bought some type of cream from china town that can make people and things invisible but only for a few seconds at first when there's no movement but after seven years you can hold it and move. I've never seen it but that's what the book that came with the stuff said.

If you're talking about making objects invisible just to yourself, then there are several ways to go about it: close your eyes, or ignore its existence. Now if you're talking about making an object invisible to all people using just the power of your mind, then i'm afraid its very much impossible. You can do it with illusion or technology, but otherwise a solid object that reflects light will never be invisible.

It's not impossible! I'll prove it someday! Any way! Well, here are some times I've seen it done on TV with technology:

On Sesamie Street once, Oscar was showing Maria this new product called "Dissappearo" which was a spray-can withsome liquid inside that made people invisible. He sprayed he and Maria with it and they were both invisible for the rest of the 1-hour episode. They disappeared with the same "sparkly" affect.

Edit: The dang list skipped one:

When I was about 5, an extreamly (and I mean extreamly) hot lady put one hand on her hip and the other on her head and just disappeared! Her body, cloths, hair, everything! I saw the commercial again later that night except she was lying down when she became invisible so it made it look mch more sexy (excuse my language)! Yes, it had the sparkle format and everything! The thing is, I don't remember the point of the commercial, I think itwas just her disappearing. Anyone ever seen it?

That's sesame street logic. According to sesame street logic, I can run around and break peoples legs while counting off: "How many deadbeats owe me money? One...*snap*....two....*snap*" then simply apologize at the end of the show, the deaf storeclerk gets a whole new shipment of knees, everyone cheers, we celebrate diversity, muppet style, and the whole thing is brought to you by the letter J.

*SNAP*

But still, it was pretty cool. Anyone else seen that one? How bout the other commercial with the disappearing lady (read two posts ago and find out what I'm takin about)?

P.S.: She was wearing black. Anyone have a clip of it?

I think RogueMartian put it best - with technology, you can create the illusion of invisibility on TV. Also, I believe your mind, with proper self-discipline, has the ability to change the way your personal body works and reacts, but I can't see how its possible for your mind to change, move, or 'invisibilize' anything outside that personal physical realm. Maybe in the future, we'll be able to use the magic of technology to cause light to pass through an object and make it completely transparent, but currently it seems simply impossible, with technology or your mind.

Ok, I had a headace last few posts and couldn't remember the commercial exactly. Here goes:

Ok, there was one commercial of her standing up and one commercial of her laying down. Ok? Ok! In both commercials she was wearing black. In the one of her laying down, she put one hand on her hip and the other on the side of her head, but in the standing one, she was straight. Good so far? Great! (Wee! Headache's commin back! Just kidding!) In both commercials, she started sprarkling and behind the sparkling she was fading away, almost like the camera was dissolving into an identicle background (which was white, BTW), only without her. I'm not sure, but I think at the end she may have said "(in a hot type of voice) I'm invisible!" I was at my grandma's house when I saw it my reactions:

(standing one)
Me: (when she started becoming invisible) Look Grandma! That lady on TV is disappearing!

Grandma: Would ya look at that!

(laying down one)
Me: Hey! Grandma! That lady is disappearing again but she's laying down!

Grandma: That is something!

Me: Can you and Papa disappear too? (no answere)

You know that this is just a camera trick, right? You know that she can't REALLY turn herself invisible, right?

Please say yes. :yakko:

Well, I wish I could se it again cause it was kinda cool! But if anyone else has seen it or knows where I might find the clip online, please tell me. Also, if you of know any other clips with people turning ivisible in that fashion, please tell me and where I can find them! I just think it's cool watching them disappear like that, even if it is just a camera trick and it's impossible to do it really!

Well, it was good posting this tread, and it's lasted longer than any of my other invisiblitlity threads (Hey, I know why! Gyro hasn't posted on it! No offence, Gyro, but you have been the cause of a lot of my threads being closed!) but no one seems tobe answering my question! I really hate being mean, but you guys shouldn't ignore people's questions. I hate it when I see threads about 8 weeks old and no replys except maybe "Hey, anyone reading this?". I really think this thread should be closed and I should start another one like it. If that's against the rules, sorry, I didn't know, but I think it should be like that. This thread has a lot of posts and a lot of ignored questions and comments. So maybe we could start a fresh one. Just a suggestion.

Don't take it personally when no one replies to threads... it happens to everyone! And besides, you only gave people three hours to reply... sometimes, it takes a lot longer than that. Patientce, my son.

While I'm at it, I'd like to remind posters to please refrain from posting replies to yourself... not only does it discourage other people from joining in the conversation (since they would think that you're doing just fine talking to yourself, and don't need any help), but it's unneccessary. See the "edit" button by your post? Use that if you think of anything new to say, and you can add it to your original post. Handy, no?

In the meantime, since the topic has long since been lost, thread closed.
