In downtown Seattle, there are two multiplexes within a few blocks of eachother, The Meridian 16, and Pacific Place 11. They are owned by different companies, but they never have the same movies. Up untill recently their matinee prices were almost the same, $5 at Pacific Place, and $5.25 at The Meridian. These were where I went to most of my movies.

I went to a movie only a few weeks ago at Pacific Place for the usual $5 price tag. Yesterday I went and the ticket costed $7! I wouldn't have gone in, but the girl had already charged my card. I thought it was a mistake. I asked her "Isn't it a matinee?" She told me it was $7 for a matinee and $9 and change for a full price ticket. I went back to The Meridian today and their prices hadn't gone up. I won't be attending Pacific Place anymore. If they have a movie I want to see, I'll just have to go to another part of town.

Wow, $7 for a matinee ticket. I'm sorry Matt...that's truly painful.

Here in the metro-Detroit area, tickets still range from $4.50-$5.25 for a matinee and $7.50-$8.50 for an evening ticket.

I dread the day when tickets reach $9 here...

It's around $5.50 for matinee and $8.50 for later showings. Just another reason why I don't care about movies much.

7 bucks? Just buy the DVD at Target for 15.

Our prices went up 50 cents on evening shows. I think it's not 6.50. :( But with a nifty student idea you get a dollar off. :)

Prices going up? Get used to it. Prices always go up during the summer months. For around here it's 9.50 for a late show and 6.50 for a matinee. Two years ago it was $8 for a late show and $5.50 for a matinee.

My theather tickets are like $4.00 for the all the shows before 6:00pm. I don't know the prices after 6:00 pm.

We had one of those "$2.00 theaters" here last year. Then all of a sudden, it went up to $6.00. The good thing is they play current movies now (and it's real close to me). The bad news is now there are no cheap admission movie theaters now.

It could be worse though. I hear that it is $10.00 in New York.

My local MJR Theater wants $5.50 for matinee shows & $7.50 for anything after 6 pm. But if you've got a student I.D., you can always get in for $5.50.

Wow, you can use your school I.D.'s to get a discount!!! That's neat... our school give out I.D.s, but they have no purpose or use. Tickets at the R.C. Theaters cost $7.50 and (I believe) $5.50 for matinees. I wish they would do the school I.D though!

Sigh.

I remember the days when an evening show was only $4.
