What should DC do to revive itself?

Well, I think it's pretty much safe to say Marvel is getting more attention these days and putting out several noteworthy comics, while DC seems to be sticking to it's guns, but they just aren't getting the top talent Marvel is attracting and therefore their books are suffering.

What should DC do to give itself a shot in the arm? I personally don't expect the Batman 10¢ Adventures to be it's savior. And I don't think they will go the Marvel route and bring in all this new talent that's been more well known for their work on independent comics. I honestly don't know what they could do to revive their tired titles, but they need to do something.

I think DC needs to trim and re-organize? Do we really need 14 or 15 regular Batman titles? I don't think so. We need maybe 7 or 8 of them at the most, which would be easier for fans to keep ahold of. DC, I think needs to just keep fresh. They have some new artists coming this year which may help. I can't wait to see Pascual Ferry on ACTION COMICS. and Yvel Guicket on MAN OF STEEL (Bye-Bye Manhke!). Maybe DC needs a facelift...and to lower Canuck prices. :)

I agree about trimming. I said that a while back on either the JL boards or somehwere around here, that they should trim down the Bat and Supes titles quite a bit (I opted for one title for each character, weekly or bi). It's over kill right now, and intimidating to new readers.

I don't think the new artist news excites me at all. I don't tend to buy books for the artists who draw it (tho I will admit the ar****t on X Force, Allred, was a deciding factor in me picking up that book) but go for a book for the writing over the art.

Lowering prices on both ends would help out comics. I know it's nice to have comics printed on this slick paper and all, but when it drives the price up, is it worth it in the end if people can't buy the comic because it's too expensive?
