Worst Show Ever! (Pilot Candidate)

Pilot Candidate is a waste of a good time slot on ASA. Come on who here stays up and watches PC. In my opinon PC rips off Evangelion which they should be showing instead of that crap. PC is exactly the same as Evangelion. I pity all who think evangelion will never show on ASA. If they can air YYUH they can air this show. So who here think PC should be replaced with Evangelion, if not something better

I agree the PC should be replaced with EVA, but you're out of your mind if you think that EVA's content is even remotely similar to YYH's.

Try watching both of the shows since you clearly haven't watched one of them. Pilot Candidate can't get further apart from Evangelion. Cut out the typical lazy response about any post-1996 anime and pay close attention. Heck, you don't even have to pay close attention. Evangelion's though provoking, somewhat mature, and extremely entertaining. PC is a little kids show that does its best to drive the audience to insanity. The only true similarity between the two is the fact that their dubs are horrid.

Bah...I swear some of you folks don't know from comedy. PC is great, but for all the wrong reasons. It's like, the script translation is so bad that it just BEGS to be made fun of. And it has some of the silliest scenarios too. It's cliche in a lot of ways, but it wallows in it.

I know some folks can't stand to sit through it and all but you're just taking it (and your cartoon viewing) way too seriously. If you've ever been a fan of MST3K, just think...what would Joel (or Mike, whoever you prefer) and the robots be saying while watching it? Just think of that...it'll be okay.

Also, if I was Bandai, I'd seriously think of tapping into the cult comedy possibilities for the show. Things like reissuing the DVD's (or putting out a seperate one) with audience partitipation scripts and such. I can see it now, midnight screenings, people in terrible costumes and ugly jackets smoking toothpicks, folks yelling at the episodes, people throwing stuff on cue...just like Rocky Horror, except in space.

Hmm... it does kinda come off better as a comedy :rolleyes: I for one find myself laughing out loud all the time with this show, mostly during the dramatic scenes.

THere is no question that this is the weakest show on the Adult Swim Action block. I feel bad saying it stinks because the animation is pretty good (if the CGI was gone, it would be even better). The story is just disjointed, they start one thing, never explain it, then remind you that something happened just to make you angry. A lot of the stuff that has happened could of been in earlier episodes instead of drawing them out.

I can see how the MST3K thing can work ..... AT FIRST. But after a while, it's the same thing over and over. How is that any fun? I will watch PC to the end just to be nice.

PC's not too bad it's just trying to be something it's not. I think they should try to remake the show and do a better job on it all the way around. And I wouldn't mind seeing Eva on AS.

PC is not that bad for a block just starting out. Maybe in the future PC will be moved to Toonami but untill then it is decent. Plus, maybe it is time to stop comparing it to EVA.

The only good anime shows on Cartoon Network are Cowboy Bebpop and 008th MS team and maybe OutlawStar. All the others are lame-ass. Especially Dragonball and all its filthy relatives. Magical Powers and monsters are for little babies and fruits (Princess Mononoke was intresting but it was a movie and it isn't on CN).

Pilot candiate is truly, as Bart Simspon once said, "craptacular". It is the weakest show on the Adult Swim Action block, but the only reason it is on is to supplement the block untill better, less edited shows appear. What are those shows? Ever since CN lost Slayers to Fox, it's kept mum about any aquasitions. So I don't know. What I do know is that it won't be on more than two whole runs.

Pilot Candidate would obviously be more enjoyed if it was less edited...but it's impossible to view it uncut without purchasing it. I started liking it for a while, but with all of the bad lip-synching and the editing of blood, death, and even episode titles; I kind of lost hope for this anime.

Being an adult, & I don't mean 18, lol, I can find not that too much wrong with Pilot Candidate. I
don't know, maybe I have an imagination or the fact that I know that not every show on television is
going to be to my liking. I also knew what to expect coming into PC. As far as pointing at PC &
making the EVA comparisons, even EVA was 'esque of many shows, that's the point, it's
robot-ism:p!

Get the hell over it, there's more "crap" on TV that millions of people LOVE than I care to mention.
Alot of you probably watch those shows. Smallville, Dawson's Creek, Friends, Seinfeld, Buffy,
people watch that garbage, & I find it WAY below a real quality level. I would never watch any of
those shows, nor would I tell you that people who watch the shows must be lame, nor would I
complain to those networks, or outlets for fans of those shows.

Why's the translation so bad? GEEEZ! It COULDN'T have been the english speaking people who
did the job translating it, AFTER buying it from Japanese creators. Some things become rushed,
mainly because people complain. It's safe to say alot of young North Americans have very loud
voices that roll through their computers & are full of opinions that are made without qualification or
thought. People cry & whine, make fun of things, request new things. It's no surprise that there are
those who listen to the voices, & have felt like they should maybe, rush some things out to keep the
public happy. Sometimes, we get what we ask for.

If you people are watching something that sucks, or limiting yourselves into expecting CN to owe
you something, it's time to move on & stop thinking too much, & stop over-valuing your own
crtiticisms/opinions so much.

Besides, only ADULTS should have criticisms of the shows on Adult Swim. If us adults want to see
the crap they show & it continues to baffle a slightly younger audience, maybe the younger audience
just needs to wait until they're older to try to have an opinion about it. If I don't feel like watching a
show during the block, I put it on something else. Like tomorrow night, Braindead comes on IFC,
so forget PC & stuff, I wanna see zombies.......

Wow you sound like an adult, look friend I agree with you, not everybody likes the same shows, that's just the way it works. But you must not have read my thread. I gave my reasons why I don't like the show and I wanted to Know WHO AGREED WITH ME DUH. I am not forcing every body to hate PC, I voiced my opinon and a lot agreed with me. Pilot candidate is just terrible, bad plot, bad animation, lack of for real action. Im no anime expert I don't even know what half the stuff you guys talk about on here is. But I do know that this show sucks. And whats with the outfit designs anyway, they're terrible(aren't those shorts a little to short)

Hey someone feels the same way I do. They do show a lot of crap on T.V. As for PC I think it's cool not all anime can be great just like all books can't be great. My prob with PC is the story gets good then it just stops on to goes to something else. PC can be a great anime if only they did the story better.

I like it.

It's geared more twoards kids with the characters age and junk.

But I'm sure everyone would love it if they were all the age of the pilot's in the first few episodes.

None the less, it's got a great storyline, it's just that you have to see most every episode to understand every part of it.

And, unfortuanetly, since AS only has 10 episodes scheduled, it will most certainly flop more then likely.

I'm all for the less popular anime being brought over.

I'm sure that most of the people complaining about it now, would like it after they (obvious spoiler) all become pilots
