Okay, Harley and I have narrowed the choice of names down to 10. Here's another look at the cat, to help you decide:

I can't guarantee that we'll use the name that wins, but it will be given strong consideration.

Does someone here know my password? Because the message tells me that I voted in this poll already. And I haven't.

Judging by the "(s)he" in the Fluffy name, I assume we still aren't sure of the gender. Whatever it is, you might want to take it in when it's old enough and get whatever tubes need to be tied up tied up. To help control the pet population, you know. Have your pet spayed. Or neutered.

I voted for Pussyfoot.

This post brought to you by Bob Barker.

It always says "You have already voted in this poll" after you vote. You should only be concerned if you get that message before you tried to vote at all.

(Craig slaps his forehead)

She *KNOWS* her password. What she is saying is that she attempted to vote, and it says she already has. So she's asking if someone else maybe hacked into her account and voted under her name.

(Craig slaps his forehead again) Hey, that's fun!

Danielle,

If you don't log out when you are done with the boards, then anyone who uses your computer will have the cookie with your name and password, they could wind up here using the history of addresses in IE or bookmarks and will be automatically logged in. Go to forums.toonzone.net to see when you were last logged in, that might give you some clues as to whether someone else has logged in between the last time you did and now. If you need to change your password, you can do that under control panel. And if others might come here on your computer, you might want to disable cookies or just remember to log out.

Well, this page isn't bookmarked on my computer, and I always log out after I'm done. Okay, almost always, but that's usually if I'm up at 1 AM. No one in my family goes on the computer during those times, and I just come back and log off afterwards.

I chose Pussyfoot. I think that kitten is so cute! However I think it's gonna be Fluffy the Killer Cat of Death and Destruction and Master of All [S]he Surveys II, according to the votes. Boy, Brian, you're gonna have a hard time calling that cat! :p

Prehaps he can address the creature by it's acronym: Ftkcodadamoahs. Which would be pronounced something like Fit-kod-add-a-moe-ahs; a nice Polynesian-sounding name. For short, it could be just plain Fitkod.

'Hope this was helpful.

Sounds more Egyptian than Polynesian to me. Not that it matters what he calls it; cats never come when they're called. They only respond to rattling a food dish.

You're cat's name wouldn't happen to be "Toonces," would it, Danielle?

Huh? No. Her name's Bella.

I believe don Jaime is refering to 'Toonces the Driving Cat', a former SNL regular.

Too bad Toonces died, I really liked him. Didn't his theme song go "He rides around, all over the town, Toonces the Driving Cat!"

don Jaime:
...[C]ats never come when they're called. They only respond to rattling a food dish.
Or the sucking sound a pull-tab cat food can makes. Now...Tiger Lily comes when I call her, or when I click my teeth to her a certain way. I'm not sure if that's because female cats (and dogs)are easier to train or due to what I call the Principle of the Opposite-Sex Master (POSM). It's sort of like the Oedipus complex in people; cats basically regard people as just big cats on two legs, and will even kindly groom us on occasion (usually Tiger Lily does it to me while on the computer or taking a nap).
If nothing else, that name will raise the vet's eyebrows. Watch the nurse try to fit all that on two lines of an admittance card.... :D

CRAIG:
[slaps his forehead again] Hey, that's fun!
Maybe so...but not too much, now. Otherwise you'll end up with a big lumpy Klingon noggin. ;D

Looks like Fluffy (etc.) is winning out so far...

I forgot to mention that I did actually know a cat, formerly Casey, that got re-named Evil the Cat after he single-handedly destroyed a stereo system.

Oh, my heavens I haven't been here in awhile.

Anywhoo...that kitten looks a heckuvalot like my kitty's mother who sadly passed away a few months ago. Her name was Whiskers. That's the only name that comes to mind when I see that cat. My kitty ate most of my pork chops today (blecch) so she gets a big happy face from me! :) :) :)

I'm also trying to find a place on this board to post my life story without starting a new thread. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I haven't really touched a computer since October. I am doing a lot better now and am in a local production of "Bye Bye Birdie"...I'm the second trombone player in the pit orchestra. Probably won't post often, but I'll be here in spirit. I also did not make drum major or assistant in my dear little marching band. My best friend got assistant, though. :) Well, that's enough babble. Ta!

Or, he could just take the Fluffy, Killer, and Cat part, mix them around, put a vowel in, and then he'll...

Since I came in late...

I get to start anew!

how about:

1. Hypno (love the eyes)

or an old favorite piebald (look it up) and Hawaiian:

2. Kahuna

...you know, I actually read about a guy who did that sort of thing in a psychology textbook. He'd been carrying on monogamous relationships with female cats since his teens, and when he appeared in the psychiatrist's office he wore striped clothes and had grown out his fingernails. In his adult years he realized he didn't want to be a housecat, but a tiger...and turned his attentions to a tigress at the local zoo. He schemed to break her out and woo her, and was heartbroken when she was transferred to another institution. Now that's one sick bugger....

Actually, I think Danielle has been influenced by the "Jingleheimer Junction" sketch on Saturday Night Live. One of the pearls in the dungheap, IMO, that is the last five or so seasons of that program....

Just in case anyone's curious, it's a girl!

And we'll probably announce the name later this week.

Here's a wacky question... does Toon Zone need a mascot?

If you can rig a live cam of her, YES!

(it will probably be a few years before she mellows enough to stay in one place long enough to bother with a camera - there used to be a 'Nikita Cam' featuring an abby - its no longer with us, or I'd have included a link - it was cute while it lasted...)
