I'm sure many of you have shows you wish were on Adult Swim (or you wouldn't have followed the heading into the thread). So besides the shows no one wants to hear about (Ranma, Trigun, Invader Zim... etc.) I'd like to know what other obscure shows people know of that would fit into AS well.
My Picks:
Aeon Flux
MTV's Liquid Television
Ren & Stimpy
The Brothers Grimm
Note: All of my picks are owned by MTV, which owns Nickelodeon and VH1 as well as some other networks, making the liklihood of their showing up on AS slim to none.
-Big Ben
Gundam_Warrior

American-
The Maxx
Family Guy
Invader Zim
Clerks
Dr. Katz
God, The Devil and Bob
Anime-
Full Metal Panic
Hyper Police
Ruin Explorers (as a mini series or a mid-season replacement for something)
Allen's Nickname.

Just as a note, Viacom Owns Mtv.
Anywho,
Family Guy
Gary and Mike (Haven't Seen it)
Short Films (I.e. shorts like "25 ways to quit smoking," "Fifty Percent Grey," and hopefully "YATTA!")
Dr. Katz
The Critic
"Killing Useless Cartoons"
and Propoganda Cartoons
I don't claim to be an Animie expert, so it's best i don't pick Animie.

I thing I'd like to see that hasn't been mentioned yet are Plymtoons. Bill Plymton's excellent cartoons. He's worked with CN in the past(his Xmas special) and he has a good portion of "adult" cartoons, so it would be a great addition to the block. He has some 30 minute ones, 15 minutes, 5 min, and even some short enough to knock out Captain Linger. Unless Bravo still owns the broadcast rights, it would be a good choice for CN.
Check out his subsite on AtomFilms at http://atomfilms.shockwave.com/af/animation/series/billplympton/
Be sure to check out the film "The Facts of Life" to see why he's a great AS candidate :D :D :D

The Critic. I used to stay up late every Sunday night to watch it on Comedy Central, but alas, it is no longer showed in that time slot (not sure if it is on anymore). I would be very pleased if they brought that back.
Also, how about Ren and Stimpy. This is the show that warped my mind as a child and caused me to turn out to be a very strange teen. Bringing it back would be superb. If you are going to bring back anything from the creators of R&S (Spumco?), don't bring back the sad Ripping Friends show. The Ren and Stimpy magic was not there...
Hmm...does MTV ever air Dr. Katz anymore? I don't usually watch MTV, I hate almost everything on there, but I haven't seen Dr. Katz on MTV in a long time. Anyway, if this is true, then would it be more likely that MTV would sell Dr. Katz to cartoon network, because MTV doesn't air it anyway?
Allen's Nickname.

Dude, Dr. Katz was on Comedy Central.
All of those are great picks, but Gary and Mike won't ever be on AS unfortunately. UPN is owned by the evil Viacom family.
You know, Home Movies was On UPN. (Not that Viacom isn't evil.)
My dream line up would be as it is now (ASA and Sat. and ASC and Sun.) But add one extra night in the week for Shorts and propoganda cartoons. Ohhhh yeahhh.

I don't know what other shows could be added to the lineup but I wish Adult Swim could have a movie for the last weekend of every month. For Adult Swim action there are plenty of movies they can play like Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (Uncut DVD coming out April 23rd!), Ghost in the Shell, Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, Akira, Chars Counterattack, Millers Report .ect.
Oh! I just thought of a great show for Adult Swim Comedy: Clerks Ooops! Gundam Warrior already said that. Sorry.

[indent]Something I have not seen mentioned is Invasion America. Before anyone jumps on me I realize this did air on Kids WB (although it failed their rather quickly) it was originally intended for an adult audience. It aired as an hour long show at 9 PM (8 Central) (I forget the day) on the WB in its early years. This was an interesting series about, as the title suggests, an alien invasion of America. There was lots of conspiracy and the characters were pretty interesting also. This is one of the few, if not the only, mature action animation series created in America and intended for a wide audience via a broadcast network. The hour long format probably would not suit the limited time Adult Swim currently has, but it could fairly easily be split into half hours for a total of 13 episodes (the final episode was 90 minutes). It would be fairly "new" also considering its very short run, about as new as Home Movies, Mission Hill, The Oblongs, or Baby Blues. While this isn't likely to happen, ideally I would put it on in place of Pilot Candidate after its current run. Assuming they continue to deedit Gundam 0083 this would give Adult Swim Action a solid 2 hours of programming. Finally, this would actually be doable and cheap, if not cost free, to the network since it was a WB series.

Yeah, I remember "Invasion America". It was, really, pretty damn revolutionary and I remember being frustrated that it didn't get more attention. It was well-animated, well-plotted, had hour-long episodes (bringing it closer to being a drama), was originally aired and produced for a teen audience....yeah, it wasn't too bad overall. I remember being pissed off that it never got a DVD release or anything.

COMEDY:
Sam & Max: Freelance Police This was a short-lived show on Fox Kids. Since it was on Fox Kids it was very restrained compared to the semi-profane, comedically brutal comics and PC game, but it still managed to be really funny. I'd love to see this resurrected, with brand-new TV-PG episodes.
ACTION:
Final Fantasy Unlimited
This could probably actually be on Toonami, so I'm not sure if it'd be worth putting on AS. Also, it's very new in Japan, so I guess it would have to be a while. It'd still be cool on AS, though, because there is some stuff that would definitely be edited (good amount of bloodless violence). Actually, one of the major reasons is that I want them to keep the Japanese ending credits song :)

As of right now, the only show I know enough about to desire on television is TRIGUN...
Otherwise, I just don't know.

I hate to sound like a parrot, but Dr. Katz would be awesome. I don't think The Critic would be all that good, because there weren't that many episodes produced. Dr. Katz, however, I could never get tired of: stand-up comics + Jonathan Katz + Laura Silverman + H. Jon Benjamin = Happy Lola

I think seeing Dr. Katz is completely possible... I swear to this day that I once saw an episode of Home Movies on Comedy Central...

For me, cartoon network is channel 73, and comedy is 74. You could have easily mixed them up, if it was in the same case.

No way, I'm talking like 2 years ago... before I even got to college... perhaps I just saw an add for Home Movies, though...
