I've heard from many websites that Speedy Gonzallis has been baned from TV. PLEASE SAY IT'S NOT TRUE! When I was little, he and the Roadrunner were my favorite Loony Toons characters. I'd hate to loose SG forever!

Dude, a few things.
1. Yes, he is banned. Free the Rebel Rodent!
2. This board is not the place for Loony Tunes disscution. Try the The Termite Terrace Trading Post.
3. Have A nice day.

Ok the thread was moved :)

I have heard Speedy was banned from Cartoon Network in 1999 for being a negative stereotype for Mexicans. I don't know if he'll ever make it back.

My only problem is they might not show the SYlvester (the REAL villian in the series) series and ONLY show the non-Warner done DePatie-Freleng Daffy and Speedy shorts. That Daffy is an imposter. :D (fave smiley).

[HOWEVER..thre three Format Films anda few Bill Hendricks in-hopuse WB shorts were good, and both 1968's two "The Skyscraper Caper" & "See ya Later Gladiator",their alst for years, had a better teaming, esp. the first where Daffy and Speedy are buds. (Only thing, Daffy's sleepwalking a la Max and David Flesicher's A DREAM WALKING thru the pictru but Speedy tries to WAKE him up!)

Yes, Speedy got exiled from CN, but there's hope he may return. It seems that since the banning, a lot of Mexican-American fans have been expressing outrage about it on Hispanic-topic discussion boards and such.
The view that Speedy is a degrading steriotype seems to be held only by a whiney few, and I, for one, don't think they should be the ones setting policies.

Speedy has been un-banned, IIRC. For future references Steve, do not revive threads that are over two months old. It's very confusing.

Since when was Speedy unbanned? The only cartoon I've seen him in in almost three months was that one short where he races the Roadrunner, with Sylvester and Wile E. Coyote teaming up to catch them. I even mentioned that short here when I saw it, hoping it meant Speedy was once again allowed on CN, and I was told that that short had aired before after he had been banned, that the ban was still in effect.

Read this (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32958). In addition, some fans saw another well-known "Speedy" cartoon on Cartoon Network two weeks or so ago. Plus, according to CN schedules that are available, they had scheduled Looney Tunes "theme blocks," one including Speedy. Not sure if that was delayed or whatever, but I will check out the schedules again tonight and see if I find anything.
