I was just thinking... what determines whether a show gets a certain amount of seasons? Is by how much people like it?

Danny said that he always planned that the Eds should have 4 Seasons, so that means that the Eds' Seasons were pre-planned.

I wish it was more though.

I'm not so sure on the other shows.

On most networks, the single most importaint determinate is how good the ratings are- ie; how many people are watching the show. Because the more watchers, the more the network can charge for running commercials in that show's time slot, and the more profit the network will make. If the network thinks a show isn't drawing suffcient viewers, they may try tinkering with the format or moving it to a new slot, but usually they'll simply cancel it.

Advertisers are generally not concerned about how well the viewers actually like the show, or whether the show deserves it, so long as there's actually eyeballs turned towards the tube.

Ya, like Spongebob is doing good now, so as of this moment it'll probably go up to at least 4 seasons. Also, Rugrats isn't doing so well at the moment, but it still has 9 seasons and over 300 episodes.
