Samurai Jack Lone Wolf and Cub tribute

Just noticed this when watching the new SJ on CCF...that scene with the warrior at the bridge is a homage to the manga/movie series Lone Wolf and Cub, the warrior has his infant son AND the booby trapped baby carriage. Never really watched SJ but seeing this has given me a new appreciation for the series!

I wonder if the SJ crew had to get prior permisson from the 'Lone Wolf and Cub' creators? Though I can't think of any reason for them to object- the two character's worlds meshed amazingly well.
