Do You Know Any Board Members Outside of Toon Zone?

Do any of you know anyone here on the outside? Did you introduce that person to this message board? Did someone else bring you in? Is this question even appropriate?

I suppose it depends what you mean by "know". I've gotten pretty friendly w/at least one other TZ member by e-mail...but a physical meeting and exchange of phone numbers/addresses is still a ways away....

Well I've known Bird_Boy for awhile, only on the net though, I dunno anyone from the net off-line. He's once in awhile showed me threads on things like upcoming movie info and stuff but I got pulled in when there was that one Star Trek trivia thread. :D

I really don't know anyone here, but I get the impression that most of you are intelligent, nice people in real life. It's intellectually refreshing to engage in such thoughtful conversation.

Well I'm one of the originals, so to speak, meaning I've been with World's Finest since it first started. So, I've known most of those people for a few years. But now I know a lot of toonzone members as well. So yeah, I know people outside of toonzone, though they are kind of in toonzone now....does that even make sense?

I was just wondering how much word of mouth comes into play with people joining Toon Zone. I myself am responsible for the brief introductions of Batman's bride and Bluntman to these boards.

Well, I've met Romey and Gookie and will meet Craig and Colin sometime this summer. And of course I know Harley, since she and I started this wacky place in 1998 and have been a couple since 1995.

BTW, there's an interesting feature of the board that I've never turned on which allow members to earn referrral points by getting other people to join. I never saw much point in it so I've kept it off.

I think he means if we've ever "converted" anyone into the boards, not if we talk to them outside the boards in IMs or emails.

I brought my friend SK (joey) over to these boards... she's an online friend though, we know each other through another board and talk on ICQ, and recently, my IRL friend (RevToiletDuck) has started showing his face around here.

Well I meant that I thought you meant if any of us have brought someone that we know (online or off) INSIDE, rather than knowing a regular member OUTSIDE. ^_^' Ah well...

Yeah, I know Razorblade, Sumi, Atari, CoolBlue, Tootlez, Wakari, and gandalf4242 outside of TZ. We all go to the same school (except "Wakari" and Razorblade) and hang out all the time. :D I sorta introduced all of them over here, I guess. Er... Wheeeeeeee! :p

:p Lol, it's all your fault! Uhhhhh, Wakari is a friend of mine that I told to join........ yeah...... but if Wat hadn't of told me about TZ, I probably never would've joined....... :(

And if Sensei can't find some way to get online soon, I'll go crazy! Of course, he's in the middle of being stalked by this weird girl at school who falls in love with any guy who, well, any guy period.............. it gets annoying after awhile.

It does to me, but that's probably because I was in a similar boat, as I came in shortly after DG started up his Batman board. Then, through that, I found TZ, and posted on the message boards a few times over there, until it all merged.

I haven't introduced anyone to come here, but my roommate always enjoys the news I get from this place, so that's almost the same.

I don't really know any members intimately, even here. I don't do private e-mail all that much, but I frequent many, many boards. I'm more of a journeyman. Ever seen "Littlest Hobo?" That's me. (no, I'm not a dog, but I act like him, see? Uh, I don't act like a DOG, but this dog was special, because he was a wanderer...erm you just have to see the show yourself)

But the boards I frequent most are: Toonzone, Animeondvd, alt.sports.basketball.nba.tor-raptors...

Trust me, the last thing Toonzone needs are a bunch of testy and frustrated Raptor fans overrunning this place...

I met Maxie Zeus this December to discuss the April Fool's writings that came out this week. He's pretty cool. Blonde, glasses, clean-shaven, about 6'. Teaches philosophy. Great guy.

I've talked to a few TZ members over e-mail, chat rooms, and AIM. But as far as meeting any of you in person, haven't done that yet. Nor have I talked any of my friends into signing up (yet ;) ), although I do mention the boards and topics people discuss on here.

Le'see... I've met both Brian and Harley on numerous occasions, and I've met Craig and Gookie too. Quite the looney bunch of people, we all make. ;-) I definitely intend to meet up with several others, when / if the opportunity arises.
