I love accents. I think Midwestern accents (like in Fargo) are sexy and I love the way Puerto Riccan girls from Brooklyn and Queens talk, but tome the sexiest accent has got to be Jamaican. What do you guys and gals think? What is the sexiest accent to you?
And what is the unsexiest accent? Mine is Malaisian (ugh).

I like British accents a lot. Unfortunately, I haven't run across any British fellows in Jersey yet, so I'm out of luck. I like a slight touch of a Southern accent, not a drawl you'd hear from the stereotypical redneck. And I don't know if it's the pot or the other mind-altering substances, but I like the non-surfer Californian. Once again, Jim Morrison is an example.
Unsexiest? Probably the above-mentioned redneck drawl. Also the stereotypical Chinese voice that they put in those old cartoons...irritates me to no end. Oh, yeah, and those "Wassup/What are YOU doing" people. Don't know if that counts, but it does irritate me.

Nothing like a girl with a slight Southern lilt who's a little self-conscious about it. And of course back in '96 I I found myself taken with a Japanese girl--the accent coupled with the innocence and naivete was very exotic. And I just heard a very sexy Russian accent on Hogan's Heroes that a man would have to have been in a P.O.W. camp for two years to resist. ;) I'm mixed on accents drawn primarily through the nose--Rosie Perez's is cute, but Fran Drescher's is a little harsh...and I'm still undecided on the Fargo/Bobby Generic's mom Minnesota accent....

I love British accents also. Something about it...oh yeah. I always wanted to find a British woman to date. Of course, I have had an affinity for all things Brit since I was a kid, so that may have something to do with it. Unfortunately, I haven't come across too many British women in my days here in the ol' midwest!

Well, not that i'd ever not like the accent a woman i'd love might have, but i'd go with British also. It's just so formal, or something. I'll second Cal's "oh yeah" :p . I think that i also like the way a girl with an American accent would pronounce words a little differently than the norm.

Why doesn't someone put a poll for this up?
But i like Ghetto accents. consider ing the girl i kinda like talks really ghetto. but i also like spanish accents. It Just sounds sexy to.me. the worst accent is British it just to .....PROPER.
There is absolutly nothing propper about the british accent if you take the average British person. Horrible! ...But quite charming!
I had an accent but I think it's kinda gone now, but when I talk fast I stumble and sometimes I have to repeat the word for it to make sense :p

What?! No mention of French accents? What I wouldn't give for a cutie to talk to me with a French accent.

[points frantically to her avatar] connor and murphy are irish in south boston. that alone makes the irish accent the best one to have. ooohh..and french = lestat and louis, so that shall be my number 2. the worst, though, has to be redneck or ghetto, because that is what i hear every day. spanish i can handle. i hear it too often not to handle.
while on the subject of accents, does anyone have one? as i believe i've said before, i'm a strange, strange girl. i have all of these accent tapes for drama, and i study them for no reason other than i have noting better to do. whats funny is that when i'm reading something aloud, i'll start to go into a british or scottish or irish accent without thinking, and it freaks out my friends. its my party trick..if i ever get away from the computer and go to a party. ;)

Not a big fan of accents, but a mild southern accent can be sexy. Then you can make fun of them when they say something like y'all. :)

British, New Zealand, or Austrailian accents are totally sexy. ^_^ I would love to imitate an accent one day, preferably Irish because I'm Asian and it would really confuse people! :D
I think Vietnamese accents are yucky. Same goes for Cantonese, the language, not the accent. It just sounds so...ugly! =( I like mandarin, it's softer and prettier. Anyway, I digress, so no offense to Vietnamese people here....please....

I find British and Australian accents, depending on how heavy the accent is, incredibly sexy, and adorable. Ever watch Off Centre? I love the british guy, he's absolutely adorable!!!! And very very sexy, to me at least. French accents are nice too though, but I definetly prefer British above all.

My favorite....just a hint of the Irish in the voice...that gets a bit thicker with emotions come on strong.
As far as an accent that turns me off...the really strong New Yawk accent. There's just something about it that drives me crazy.
And I come from the land of "no accents"...better known as Southeastern-Lower Michigan. ;)

I think British accents are darling, and Irish even more so. :)
But there is absolutely nothing sexy about a thick Chinese accent. :( It just makes you seem like you don't understand English (Which one probably wouldn't, if he had a really thick one, but still... ^_^')
I don't have an accent (Apart from maybe a Canadian one ;P), but apparently there's a certain pattern to how I form words with my voice. Eh. Go fig.

No offense intended to anyone, but I find this whole thing silly. Speech or "accents" mean nothing to me.

well, except for the ghetto one. I don't want a girl who uses CONSTANT SLANG over and over (I'm assuming that's what you mean right?) Most british people have accents that make them sound like, well, rich snobs, not proper, but rich snobs.

I agree with Pilmedium, accents aren't an issue with me. From a strong New York accent, to ghetto street slang, to a cute little Japanese girl trying to speak English, they're all the same to me....just as long as they don't sound like men with deep baratone or raspy voices.

My voice hits a high note when talking to a girl with a British or French accent...(my face also reddens, and I become clumsy)....
...but my voice never comes out (I run away) when talking to a girl with a deep, manly voice (especially with a Scottish voice)...
