Do you consider people that you meet on the boards here at Toonzone, or on the internet in general, your friends? I'm not sure if I do or not, but I know I'll be thinking about it for awhile. :)

I only talk to one person from toonzone :( if anyone one to talk to me go ahead. Anyway I just consider them my online friends.

In a way yes and in a way no. You see many people act different on the net than they do in there real lives. So the person your befriending may not be the person he/she seems.

The people I've met on the net have been many and yeah i will say I consider a few of them friends, But it's rare. I mean in my real life I don't consider A LOT of people my friends, but rather aquatinces to keep me from being an outsider. I don't tell these people that(I do but I'm so sarcastic most of the time they don't take me seriously), i mean I have 6 "suposed" best friends right now off line and only 3 are ones i honestly give the title back to.

So right now I consider most of you my aquaintences because well I can't really trust you more than I trist people that I actually see everyday, now can I ? Possibly over time that status will upgrade and some of you will become one of the well One actuallypeople that I call a friend that I have not met outside of the internet.

I call the people around here my online friends. I treat the internet like a whole different world where you have friends seperate from the one in the offline world.

That's exactly how I am Dark Spider. The Net is like a whole other place for me. I've got my online, and my offline friends. I consider most anyone I come across as my friend, but then of course I've got a core group of very close friends. There are some people online that I've known for a good while, and we always talk together and share things. There are things I'll share with my online friends that I'll never talk about with my offline friends, and visa versa. It's a completely different sent of people, and it's great.

I try not to get too personal, but I must say that there are a lot of nice people on this board. It's great to have a handy board where I can find out more about my fav cartoons, practice lame jokes, spout my wisdom(?), etc.

I'd say the people I meet here are my friends. I don't think I've ever had a bone to pick with anyone here, that's not to say that some things don't get annoying, I'm just saying I don't ever leave this board hating anyone. It's easy to talk to everyone here, and people here are willing to help you if you need it...

I'm weird, I keep my friends in categories...
I have my close friends, the ones I talk to every day and call best friends
I have my acquaintance friends, people I talk to and know from school and work but don't really hang out with or talk to outside those environments
Then I have my internet acquaintances. People that don't know my real name or address or very much about me at all. But these people are the best for conversations about things that I don't get to talk about at work or with my close friends because they're not interested in movies or cartoons.

I have tried turning internet acquaintances into friends a couple of times, but it always ends badly, so like several others, the internet is just a different kind of world for different kind of "friend" relationships. And I like to leave it at that.

I Like almost everyone here so almost everyone is on the list. :)

I would pretty much have to say yes, but I agree that it is different than your friends at school or work. Everyone here calls me The Penguin and that's the way I pretty much want it. The people I form a connection with here I trust, but I call them by their screen name they call me by mine, and no one thinks anything of it. None of my friends that I see face-to-face everyday call me The Penguin.

The TZers I talk to on AIM I'm for the most part closer to than the people I just see around on the boards. But you get the right PM or find a common view on something and you can make a new pal.

This particular board is the ultimate example of that. We share our thoughts on life issues, ask each other for relationship advice. We learn things about each other that we sometimes may not even know about our "real" friends.

If you think about we are kind of like a high school or a college here. You have your good friends, the people you like but never do anything with, and there is at least one person for everyone that just rubs them the wrong way. The mods are like the teachers, they make a point to get to know as many people as possible on some level and they have to step in if a member is picking on another member or if someone is speaking out of turn.

We're either a class or a family, to some extent. :) :)

Well, the ones I've chatted to or emailed on a daily basis I would consider them to be my online friends. And technically their just Internet acquiesces.

Oh definitely! There are some people I share PMs and emails with on a semi-regular basis, and I think I've been accepted into a "clique" of people on TZ off the boards on instant messengers ^_^'

Most of my online friends are from another board though, the Cybersix board. I usually talk to them on ICQ, and get cards and stuff from them at Christmas. I met seven of them in real life so far. :)

I'd say when the friendship leaves the message boards and progresses into phone calls and physical meetings, then it becomes something special. Especially if two posters were to fall in love (which has happened to me elsewhere). It is possible to feel closer to someone two thousand miles away than right in your own backyard, if the geographically-closer person is more difficult/jealous-natured/emotionally distant. And if it lasts, it's a great excuse to travel....

I only exchange private messages with John Stewart. I also exchange PMs with a moderator but that's not really fun conversations (It's not bad either don't get that idea)

So other than that to answer your question no. I don't think anyone likes me. When I first came here I know that to be true since I was every where. I kind of over exposed myself. It's cool. I don't feel hated.

On AIM I have two people and one is my girlfriend and we don't talk on the net. So it's kind of just there.

That is exactly how I feel ladies. Some people on these boards I can share anything with them. I do consider everyone my online friends. I just love meeting and making new friends online and offline. I know that some people I won't lose contact with. Hopefully, I'll meet some of you when I visit the states again :)

PS: If anyone wants to chat well then send me a PM or email me^^ There are so many people I would love to talk to on these boards but I'm too shy to PM them :o

Hmmmmmm, I guess I can consider everybody to be online buddies of mine (even if they don't talk to me, or they hate me...... :p I'm not mean once you get to know me  ).......... but, the main people that I talk to I know personally, I mean, we go to the same school, we're best freinds, yadda yadda yadda........

This is off-topic, but I really like the thread title. It just screams "cute".

Thread: "Am I your friend?..."

Dark Spider: Aw, you are such a cute little thread. Why of course your my friend!

Just a bit of randomness for you guys...
