So what did you think of last night's episodes of "Dexter", and "Samurai Jack"? I thought they were surprisingly good. Jack was at his best slashing the robots, (High Five) and "A boy Named Sue" was not only a wickedly creative origin story for Mandark, but the title was named after a comedy song I heard A few years ago. What did you think?

A boy name Sue didn't quite run with the continuity quite right, I alwayys thought that the 1st meeting between the 2 was
"Dexter's rival."
And as for Samuri Jack, it was a pretty cool ep but still not as good as the last one.

Why in the commercial for the brand-new episode, Dexter was dressed like a girl? I didn't see that in this ep.

SJ: Fairly good, Darth Vader reference "All too easy." among others.
DL:
"A Boy Named Sue"
Didn't see that coming. Was an alternate retelling of the Mandark/Dexter first encounter story (it's a show of cartoon shorts, they tend not to have any thing near solid continuity).
I wonder if they'll have LaLa VaVa(sp?) back?
"Lab On The Run"
Who were they voice actors in that on? I can picture of face but can't remember the name of the comedian who did the voice of the glass domed headed robot and the other one sounded familiar also.
It also very strongly reminded me of this (WARNING: PG-13'ish content):

Boy Named Sue is a poke at the Johnny Cash classic, but it has nothing to do with that song...
The ep does throw the Dee Dee's Rival off, but given these are a different group of writers they must have decided to throw a lot of things out the window and create their own interpretation of the show--at least from my take.

Perhaps it's possible that Dexter dosen't know that "Sue" will become Mandark untill they officialy meet in "Dexter's Rival". They came rather close to interfearance in that line of continuity, but have managed to pull it off as best they could. However, I do remember Mandark saying that he had another name when he introduces himself to the class (with thunder & lightning behind him) that was too complicated to pronounce. Also, I would love to see LaLa VaVa (Mandark's sister) show up again.

Astronominoff.
The song at the end of "Lab on the run" isn't too bad. Anyone know where I can download a mp3 of that?

I think it was probilly just a little mistake, showing the dexter in drag one... but on the other hand, I really liked "a boy named sue" (becuse it has hippies, flowertopia, and baby mandark) plus, I really want a screen shot from that ep, whene 'Susan' frist met Dexter...
