Favorite ASA Show?

So, Given what we've seen (2-3 Episodes at this point) Which shows are your early favorites?

And why?

(I can't wait to see if this changes after the shows have been on for a while.)

Id say Yu Yu Hakusho just because its funny. I loved it when he took over that girls body and beat the living crap outta those guys.

I think this question is more difficult than can just be answered with a vote. I'm not saying it's a complex subject, I'm just saying there are a couple things that make for voting for a "favorite" a little difficult.

This first thing is, I sort of consider Cowboy Bebop in a class above the rest of the shows. I think a lot of people here would agree that this show, as a whole, is much better than anything on the Adult Swim Action lineup (perhaps I'm wrong, but that's the impression that I get). However, I also think that many people here have seen all the episodes a few times.

I've never seen YuYu Hakusho, so when ASA comes on I look forward to it more than I look forward to Bebop just because it's something new for me. But, that doesn't mean that I think it's really a better show than CB.

Also, shows that are edited have a potential to be better than they are, if they were to be shown in their orignal form. I'm not saying that cursing and blood always make a show better, but watching Gene play "Go Fish" with Jim on Outlaw Star really detracts from the overall atmosphere of the show.

So, if I had to pick my favorite show on ASA, I'd say Cowboy Bebop. But, if I had to pick the show I most enjoy seeing on TV, I'd say YYH.

Right now, I said Yu Yu Hakusho. Just where it looks like they are following a formula, they put curves into every episode. It's so refrshing to watch ( I like the one where Kuibara (sp)? has to get a higher test score;great stuff.)

I just started watching Cowboy Bebop so I didn't vote for that (although I really like it so far). Gundam and Outlaw Star are a little hard to follow, but I like them both. Pilot Candidate is the weakest show with the bad dubbing and the slow movement of story.

Tenchi is good (at the end, I always have a smile) but confuses me. What kind of show is it :comedy, action, or combination of both??

Right now, I'm enjoying YYH the most out of all of them. Granted, it's not exactly an "adult" show, but it's still good. :D

For a second choice, I would pick 0083. Mainly because I'm a Gundam fanboy. :p

That's hard to say. In the next few episodes, you'll notice that the action will pick up big time, but then die down almost nothing the rest of the series. Personally, I consider it comedy since that element of it outweighs the action element. Most people would probably consider it both, though.

Cowboy Bebop--the music synchronized with the action and reflecting the mood of the show makes it a fave in my book. Get it on DVD or listen to the soundtrack(s) and it's well worth the money.

I have missed YYH most of the times... I have seen half of Cowboy Bebop... PC just not moving anywhere so far.... Gundam 0083 I am being watching and I like it.... So my vote goes for Gundam 0083 and I am being wanting to watch this series since GW premired on Toonami... I got intrigued with this series when I saw the second intro at Ign.com 2 years ago... Tenchi and Outlaw Star would be good but I have seen them on Toonami...

Not that that's bad, but at this point it is nothing like what I was expecting.

I had thought that Gundam 0083 would havebeen the favorite after CB, and I WOuld have thought that Yu Yu would have come in third, but so far Yu Yu is blowing everything else away (and with only four episodes!!!!!

What the hell? This Yu Yu nonsense is beating CB? :eek: I havn't seen ASA, I watched CB when it was on the regular AS and now I own the whole series on dvd. I guess I will check it out, and it better be the best god damn Anime I ever saw because otherwise it doesn't beat CB.

I think that the reason why YYH is doing so well is because the poll says "at this point." Right now, we've seen CB a couple of times, so people are probably looking forward to new episodes of YYH more than repeated episodes of CB.

YYH is the best show in ASA!!! It has everything. It is funny and emotional. It is full of action, mythology, romance, etc. Whatever you want for a show (except for mechas) it has it. Gundam is great, but it is nothing compared to YYH. Cowboy is great, but it is nothing compared to YYH. Pilot Candidate is just plain crap. Tenchi and Outlaw has been shown so many times that I am starting to get sick of it that is way I am not watching it any more. So YYH deserves to win. YYH deserves to be the king. YYH deserves to be the best. YYH will kick the arses of the rest.

I had to go ahead and vote for CB. I look forward to watching YYH because it's new, but I know deep down that I really watch ASA for the Bebop. The animation, the music, the plots... CB is way ahead of the competition. Yea, YYH is my second favorite, and then Gundam. I still wonder why Pilot Candidate is still on the air.

There's a good bit of topics on what people want brought to AS, so I'll just let you know about the series'.

Evangelion has no chance. ADV clearly said they won't let it be aired edited. It has female nudity, blood, religious references, and homosexual references. It's not happening.

Record of Lodoss War is currently on Toonami's Reactor. I don't see why using it instead of Pilot Candidate is out of the question. It's a hell of alot better, and more "adult".

I don't see how you can even compare Cowboy Bebop to YYH. Don't get me wrong YYH is not a bad show, but CB is much better.
