Don't yoo think it would be great if adult swim was extended to 4 hours. I mean who watches some of those old no good shows anymore that come on before. I don't mean the Cartoon Cartoons. They're ok. plus it comes on way to late and whats the point of showing OS and tenchis so late. How many people watch it at that time anyways. And the eextension would be great fpr shows like YUYU. I heard that YUYU is very long. At this rate i'll take them a year to run the first season once and then just imagine another year before the second season comes in.
If not 4 hrs, then they should at lease move it to 10 time slot

I like the fact that YYH will take a long time to complete. It eliminates one of the problems Toonami & ASC have - repeats. Anyway I think they're going to split YYH into chunks and recycle them at least once before showing the next chunk (but I could be wrong)

I'm of two minds on that...it's good for those of us who sometimes MISS a show, but man...I hate repeats.

As long as the cycle chunks are a decent size (26 or more episodes) it won't be too bad - unless they end on a cliffhanger. Then you'd have to wait 6 months to see the resolution (sort of like regular network series). Maybe 13 episode chunks wouldn't be as bad (3 months new, 3 months replay, so on & so forth). That way Funi has 6 months to get another batch ready for air (and DVD).
Anyway.... it's not up to me but we'll see.

I have no problem with the times, my problem is with the content. But that's not for this thread.
To answer your questions...
I mean who watches some of those old no good shows anymore that come on before.
I think I'm one of them. What shows are you talking about?
whats the point of showing OS and tenchis so late. How many people watch it at that time anyways.
Not sure, but I'm one of them.

I'm one of them also... actually my VCR is one of them (so I'm virtually watching - timeshifted)

i think so too, i think this chunk is 21 episodes and then repeats

I wont mind watching repeats of Yu Yu if
1. They only repeat it once then new episodes.
2. They had another show on with new episodes airing on the block
I dont mind watching repeats a second time but watching for a 3rd time i wont do.

I think they should remove that Batman Beyond and I forgot what the other show was. I mean its already shown on Toonami so whats the point of having singular episode outside the tooami block. Geez all those shows have had 5 days to run already. I don't think that giving one more hour to ASA would hurt.
Those Cartoon Cartoons already get a full overnight run on friday nights. I think two YUYUs a week is fair, like the way the did Cowboy Bebop (Greatest of anime). Maybe this will ahppen when the block becomes more popular
The block needs 4 hours like it's comedic counterpart. Kill Batman Beyond!

I think they should stick with one YYH a week. For one thing, it'll take longer to complete, which is good. That way, they'll be more new YYH for a longer period of time, and if you miss a night, you miss one ep., not two. Additionally, say Funi continues to show it in 21 episode blocks. Judging by the speed it took for them to dub the first few episodes, it's feasible that they might be able to have a new set of episodes dubbed by the time the first set is closing up. That way we'd never need reruns at all. Think about it.

That may be true but just because Funi Has finished them, doesn't necesarily mean cn will show them. It is most likely that they will run repeats at lease once after the first season. It's just natural all networks do this. Just like Dbz Just because they have them deosn't mean they'll show it within a few weeks. Dbz gets new season every year. If YUYU will run 21 eps, that means they'll probably do reruns twice so one year after the end of last season they show new eps.
Thats my prediction.

They show reruns of DBZ because by the time when they want to show new ones, they want to show the entire season. And they usually do show the entire new season as soon as it's finished. The only reason they have reruns is because they have to give Funi time to dub an entire season. Since DBZ is daily, that's a whole lotta reruns. But since YUYU is only once a week, it means that you could have the whole entire season finished just as this first one is wrapping up. I don't know why they'd even bother showing reruns at that point, it wouldn't make any sense.

They will show reruns because.... FUNi won't give them the shows unless they milk it at least once more.

My two cents: YuYu stays at one a week. Sure, it's the best thing on ASA, but that doesn't make it good. If I'm gonna to watch a Toonami spin-off, I want it in moderation.
A) Batman: The Animated Series is what airs after ASA. Which is part of Toonami's Rising Sun, not ASA.
B) Batman Beyond is what airs on Toonami's afternoon block, also a good show.
C) It's a great show with a large and loyal fanbase. So is The Adventures of Superman. Bruce Timm is a genius. If you don't like it, fine. But keep in mind others do, and all CN wants in the ratings so they can get more advertisers.
Most of you expressed you're not awake during these times, so obviously the audience that doesn't like these shows, is sleeping when they air. I'm up, and I enjoy it. Why complain about it?

What? We're not talking about the shows that come on after ASA, we're talking about the shows that come on before. Let those shows that come on after ASA stay, don't mess with them.
We're talking about batman beyond and some of those CCs. Well one of them anyways. and i think that the superhero shows should stay because it is probably good for cn.

The only way I'd want there to be new shows on ASA would be if they were new. YYH is better at one episode a week, Cowboy Bebop has already been aired all the way through twice, Pilot Candidate doesn't even deserve the half-hour it gets now (IMO), and Gundam 0083 is only about 13 episodes long, so in the time it'd take to run CB once through, it'd have been aired twice. Let some new shows extend the block, not repeats.

Right on! i say they should bring some new one in. like Serial Experiments lain. maybe show some movies too. like akira, or princess mononoke. it would be a good treat for the burned out viewer. i sure enjoyed it when they played movies on craptastic old toonami. thank god we've evolved from 150 episodes of DBZ in one week.

I don't really think we'll see Princess Mononoke; I doubt Disney'll let it air on a competitor's channel.
Lain might work. It's from Pioneer, and CN's aired Toonami stuff in the past--i.e., Tenchi. If they get Lain, I hope they also get Boogiepop Phantom, since it's also weird, and good.

THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING FOR TWO WEEKS! You are indeed a wise one. http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/biggrin2.gif
Lain would be cool, but we NEED Boogiepop Phantom! Lain is already main-stream, It'd probably be pretty expensive to get the rights to airing it... Boogipop Phantom shouldn't be a problem in the cash department since it doesn't have a very large fan-base.
...but then again, BP is alot newer than Lain, so probably more expensive. I don't care, I'd be happy with either. I love both.

Thank you, ,thank you. I appreciate your admiration for my wisdom. :P
I'm certain we're not the only ones who feel this way. Heck, I would have mentioned something earlier (I'm new posting, but I have been lurking for awhile) but I only got Boogiepop Phantom a few days ago. I immediately watched all of it, and am now rewatching it, with the commentary track on. BP is a show where I feel paying the full MSRP would have been a good deal, and worth every penny. (Of course, I'm not complaining that I got the whole thing for under $50 retail)
Hmmm...Lain or BP. Well, as I said earlier, Lain is by Pioneer, so that's a definite plus. AFAIK, no Right Stuf title has shown on CN. Then again, before Tenchi, no Pioneer title had been shown, so why not start with Boogiepop Phantom? :p

Yes, in fact, if they started at 9:00 (11, please, pbth), they could even double up shows if they wanted to, because at this pace i feel like YYH is never gonna finish. 1 eps. per week hurts me so...
Rule #1 of Cartoon Network marketing- never get the shows people want. ;)

Not true. Toonami's been giving back to the same anime fans who ***** and complain about it for years. There's many a hardcore anime fan these days because of that block, who unfortunately, now seem to feel the need to constantly berate it. Just my experience, anyway.

On an unrelated note, the boards now automatically edit my language. Uh....good?

old news...
II dunno...to some extent..I've become very burnt out on the "I love this show...I just wish it was entirely diffrent, at a diffrent time...on a diffrent station" type mentality that I get from a number of people on these forums.
I'm exagerating the problem a bit but ever since the announcement of Toonami getting it's 3rd hour back, and the morons who said this was a bad thing.....after all of the compaining about the LACK of a third hour..
so, if I angered anyone earlier..I'm sorry.
There's just ALOT of thread, thread fragments, and ideas that things are wrong..it gets really old..
Honestly..CN is doing a good job. Not a great job, not what I always want..but a good job nonetheless.
If we could try to be constructive with our critisism, and suggest ideas on changes that aren't impossible/impractical (Air Trigun, Escaflowne, and start an Adult Swim Channel while only airing when I'm not at school) and things will hopefully run smoother..

Gee whiz, then why is it constantly breaking records in the ratings!?!? I think a more appropriate rule would be: never get the shows Beatdigga wants. Then again, if you're watching the block, you have to like it somewhat, right? ;)
As for the whole YYH issue brought up earlier, I think it all depends on the jump they got on the show. If they went and dubbed 20 or so episodes before ASA started up, I think they're in great shape and probably will never have to air a single repeat (assuming of course that it stays at the same 1 ep a week schedule). Remember, this isn't DBZ where the eps are aired every day; YYH is going at 1/5 the pace, meaning no need for a 10 month wait between newly dubbed episodes.
