I have this idea.. What if they turned Boomeraction into a "retro" Toonami block, with shows such as Thundercats and Sailor Moon?
They could very well recycle older Toonami bumpers..

Here's my schedule for it.

8:00PM Samurai Jack
8:30PM Megas XLR
9:00PM Thundercats
9:30PM Sailor Moon
10:00PM Dragonball Z
10:30PM Voltron
11:00PM Transformers
11:30PM Superfriends

I'd rather keep more recent vintage shows like Megas XLR & Samurai Jack away from this block for now. Let them settle in on Da Boom. This is my idea of rebooting Boomeraction into Toonami on Boomerang:

8: Super Friends (1 HR.)
9: Voltron
9:30: Swat Kats
10: Thundercats
10:30: Silverhawks
11: Justice League
11:30: Centurions

I think retooling Boomeraction into Toonami would be pretty cool. I wish there would be a better rotation of series though.

Yes, I don't know if they can or notm but I would love to see the old toonami Broadcasts re-aired on Boomerang. either that or Re-name Boomeraction & add DBZ & Naruto into the mix.

But that would require... Spending money on Boomerang.

In all seriousness, if Toonami were added to Boomerang, I would literally call Comcast every day to tell them that I want Boomerang.

Ah... Sailor Moon... well that wont happen until Toei decides they'll let someone license it for US distribution again.

That said...

Boomeraction could easily be Toonami. Should it be? Well I'd like to see it but some people prefer it stay Boomeraction.

They've yet to air Thundercats and The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest on Boomerang and that'd be a good opportunity to do so.

They don't have DBZ anymore so I guess that's not worth trying to get back given FUNimation will want bank for it...

Or if Toonami were to be the more modern action cartoon block then Megas XLR, Samurai Jack, IGPX (at least one more time), Justice League, Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Batman Beyond (which I believe they still have), The Batman, Teen Titans (though that's getting good play on CN so maybe not), etc. would be great to see pre-Boomeraction on weekday nights or perhaps in the afternoon.

Toonami on Boomerang would just be a renamed Boomeraction, since most of the shows on Toonami's heyday are no longer available to CN/Turner; that said, I don't see why they couldn't do it, provided people would be OK with the facts that a) it would just be Boomeraction with the TOM wraparounds, and b) only a handful of people would be able to see this "new" Toonami.

However, I'd say the entire point is moot, since networks don't make a habit of bringing back old brandings or wraparounds. The chances of CN resurrecting Toonami anywhere are about as likely as CN rehashing the old City bumps, which is to say, very unlikely.

Well now I wouldn't say that... ;)

Anywho, as for the idea, I don't know. Wouldn't it be a little jarring for newcomers/people that are not us? I mean, if it was a gradual thing like maybe Tom taking over the bumper one by one, then it could work. But suddenly replacing one block for another block just like that? I dunno, that sounds risky, and we know executives don't like doing risky things.

Now, don't get me wrong, I would LOVE for something like this to happen. to happen. But let's think logically here. Would the ratings go up? Would it bring good things to the demography? Is it something that'll being lots of MONEY? Yeah, that's just wishful talking folks...

CN has rarely, if ever resurrected dead branding, promos or programming blocks. Same goes for most television networks really.

I understand that "Toonami" was CN's longest-running brand and popular amongst many the world over, but it was a shell of its former self in its last year and a half and is now dead. The people running CN & Boomerang don't care much for the history of CN; they're continuingly moving on.

Boomerang, apart from "Late Night Black & White", hasn't resurrected any of CN's old brands or blocks, yet they've aired many of the shows which were once a part of old CN blocks under a different guise ("Boomeraction" is the modern-day "Super Adventures", while "Those Meddling Kids" and its predecessor block are the modern day equivalents of "Mysteries Inc.").

Toonami depended heavily on outside acquisitions, many of which have LOOOOONG expired or are not available for licensing. Considering BOOM rarely airs anything outside the Turner library and has trouble even putting on varied action programming before 10PM if at all, this is indeed wishful thinking. Toonami's time has come and gone.

No. I didn't care for Toonami when it was apart of cartoon network and I most certainly don't want to see it again.

No. I didn't care for Toonami when it was apart of cartoon network and I most certainly don't want to see it again.

The question is moot since networks don't make a habit of resurrecting old brands, blocks, bumpers and wraparounds (yes, CN resurrected 'Super Chunk' recently, but just the name; it's merely an umbrella title for their marathons, and note that CN didn't resurrect the bumps with the fat kid screaming "GIMME MORE!!"), but even if Toonami did resurface on Boomerang, it wouldn't be the Toonami that so many people remember so fondly. Heck, Toonami wasn't wasn't the Toonami beloved by so many during its' last 2 years of being on the air.

Most of the shows that aired during Toonami's heyday CN has since lost the broadcasting rights to, so a Toonami Boomerang would just be a renamed Boomeraction for the most part.

DBZ? Gundam? Reboot? Sailor Moon? Yu Yu Hakusho? Outlaw Star? Tenchi Muyo!? on Boomerang? Won't happen. Can't happen. These shows aren't part of the CN library anymore. The creators of Toonami have since moved on, so I wouldn't bet danger money on seeing Toonami resurface on Boomerang.

They don't have rights to Sailor Moon, DBZ, Voltron or transformers anymore. There really is not much point in putting a Toonami on Boomerang.
