Pebbles and Bam Bam's absence in TFMTJ

Anyone know why Pebbles and Bam Bam were not in The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones?

I were to assume that TJMTF took place before they were born? I find it hard to believe, as I stated in another thread, they particular Fred were different people in the early seasons of the Flintstones, or were they away at a relatvies house.

Anyway what was the reason not to include them? I know there was no Jetsons to play off as much, but they still had Rosie in the movie and there was no Flintstones counterpart to play off of.

They could have some comedy relief, with them causing havoc messing with the futuristic techonology being babies and all. The Jetsons having to baby sit, that would have been funny.

Edit: I got the title mixed up, the movie title is actully The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones, not The Flintstons Meet The Jetsons

Something they could have gone with is a teen/pre-teen Pebbles & Bamm Bamm, and have them play off of Elroy and Judy. As it was, Elroy didn't have much a role in the movie outside of building the actual time machine, so he could have had a subplot with Pebbles or something.

Speaking of Elroy, they never meet in any Hanna Barbara cartoon, but Elroy and Bamm-Bamm meet each other (as adults) on Family Guy. That is one of my favorites, "Take me to Astro's grave." I know that doesn't count. But still LOL

I had a proposed fanfic series that never got written where all the HB kids (Jonny Quest, Pebbles, Bam Bam, Elroy, Judy, etc) all lived on the same street. It was a parody of Desperate Housewives called 'Desperate Animated Housewives' with Wilma, Betty, Josie, Daphne, and Jane in the main roles. One of these days I'll have to get around to actually writing that.

Since Barney didn't work with Fred at the quarry in the original series, I assume "The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones" 's Stone Age portion probably took place after Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm grew up and went away to college (thus explaining why they weren't seen...).

But yeah, a scene where college-age Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm called home to check on their respective parents and found out what happened might've been amusing...
