I vaugley remember this show from the 80's I think, it was kind of an odd show with a white blob like character as the star and the drove around in a 3 wheeled bubble car, I was wondering if anyone else remembers this show, in the uk it always seemed to replace fang face or scooby doo

The Shmoo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shmoo) was actually a creation by cartoonist Al Capp and was introduced in his comic strip Li'l Abner.

The Shmoo's first TV appearance was on Hanna-Barbera's The New Shmoo (NBC, September 22-December 1, 1979). The show was basically another H-B show in the Scooby-Doo mold, with Shmoo as the pet/mascot of 3 teens/twentysomethings (Mickey, Nita and Billy Joe) who traveled around investigating mysteries for their publication, Mighty Mysteries Comics. Reruns of The New Shmoo were then incorporated into NBC's Fred and Barney Meet the Thing, which was retitled Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo (December 9, 1979-November 15, 1980). Though the title was something of a misnomer, since Shmoo never actually interacted with Fred and Barney....

.....at least not until The Flintstone Comedy Show (November 22, 1980-Sepember 5, 1981), where Shmoo co-starred alongside Fred and Barney in the "Bedrock Cops" segments.
