Not very familar with him but it loks like he was the voice of 80s gumby and woody the woodpecker. It's always a sad day when we lose a great voice :crying:.

"80s Gumby":Almost correct. He directed it. He did do a Mel Blanc-worthy job, doing all voices, almost all original [save for "The Groobee"* episode with a W.C.Fields voice], for early 60s Gumby.
"Woody": Supporting voices [some of which turned up on Gumby.]
Mel Blanc, then some others, then finally Grace Stafford was Woody.
*The Groobee was a 3 foot high honeybee that built crates in some episodes of "Gumby"!! He had a "cousin" that never met him,,"Mason Hornet". Guess what HE did..Never talked but the salesman who siold him to Gumby had a rare case of a voice imitaiton [W.C.Fields] in a Clokey production.

Dallas McKennon was the original toon voice of Archie (1968-78), and also did Courageous Cat. He will be missed.

"Damn, damn, damn!" :(
I had no idea he was that old. He was obviously a versitle actor. I remember him most as the voice of Archie. Did he do him also in Archie's Weird Mysteries, or was that someone else?

Actually, Dallas McKennon DID voice Gumby in the 1988 revival series. He was uncredited for doing the voice, but he did it all right (for some reason some sources mistakenly credit some mysterious "Charles Farrington"). He also voiced Gumby in the 1995 movie (I think he also voiced Professor Kapp in the 1988 series, too).
And while he voiced nearly all males in the 1962 Gumby shorts (including Gumby and Pokey), Norma McMillian and Nancy Wible voiced the females, and in the Santa Witch episode, Dick Beals voiced the naughty little boy (that looked kinda like Davey!)

Dallas McKennon even had a role in the 1960's Fess Parker Daniel Boone drama adventure series.

Just 2009 and we've already lost from the Golden theatrical/TV age of cartoons:
*Sunny Skylar, composer of songs that Warner toons used ["Gotta be this or That", "They're Taking me Away"-the 1947 counterpart to "Napoleon XIV's" Dr.Demented fave "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Ha!', "Besame Mucho!"-great 1940s Latin there--and so many others I forgot
*Dal McKennon, as discussed.
That was in 2009..
