Title says all. They all star very conventional families, pet included. All three of the husbands work in a blue-collar job, and all three modernize some other place in time.

No they weren't exactly. Flinstones was a spoof of The Honeymooners, The Jetsons was a spoof of some other show (I forget what) and Holidays was a rip-off of Jetsons but with the genders of the kids reversed.

Isn't this the same type of argument that exists with The Simpsons and Family Guy? The two shows do have strong similarities, but they also both have strong differences. With this logic, one could almost say Futurama was a ripoff of The Jetsons.

The Jetsons was more or less inspired by the Blondie movies, which of course were based on the comic strip of the same name, right down to the hapless, milquetoast salalryman father (Dagwood/George), two kids (Cookie & Alexander/Judy and Elroy), a tyrannical boss (Mr. Dithers/Mr. Spacely), a dog (Daisy/Elroy) and a spendthrift mom (Blondie/Jane) played by Penny Singleton.

The Jetsons, I think, might've had its roots in the comic strip Blondie.

I'd like to know what you consider "white collar". George Jetson pressed buttons on a computer. In an office.
Last I checked, George Jetson wasn't a blowhard. He didn't have a next door neighbour to act as a foil/sidekick. His wife never gave birth to a child during the series run. Nobody is going to mistake Dino for Astro (though both are really funny characters). So there really aren't a lot of similarities with the Flintstones if you strip away the surface.
Granted, Hanna and Barbera took a 20th century family and juxtiposed it on clichés of another time. The idea worked once, so they tried it again. But that's about where the similarity ends.

They tried it thrice. Roman Holidays was a Sitcom in Classical Rome.

Well, agree about the last part, but you do know the first part describes like 3/4 of the sitcoms ever made since the 1950s?

Come to think of it. Are there any cartoons about families where both parents work?
Anyway, the three shows have names and places that are based on puns. The Flintstones had their rock and stone names; the Roman Holidays had Roman suffixes added to names; and the Jetsons names are all Sci Fi related. But I doubt Las Vegas will become Las Venus 100 years from now. And I doubt it was ever Rock Vegas either.

Well The Flintstones and The Jetsons do have something in common; both shows have stood the test of time and are still well-remembered to this day.Whereas the Roman Holidays had a less than successful run and pretty much faded into obscurity.

A small handful, namely "Blondie" right down to the same actress for Blondie/Jane [Penny Singleton--not to be confused with "Hairspray"'s Pingleton.] , and also "Hazel" [which conviently, "Jetson" production company Hanna-Barbera's sister company Screen Gems produced].
Also, Judy Jetson [Janet Waldo] and Elroy Jetson [Daws Butler] were kinda deja vu for their voices though Judy's came from her voice's radio and that one 1951 "I Love Lucy" episode and Elroy's from Augie Doggie, etc. Likewise George and animation-releated Warner's "Joe Doakes". Oddly, the actor [George O'Hanlon] never voiced Warner shorts.
And that's just for the main actors voices.

IIRC, both the Hills on "King of the Hill" work...
If not counting primetime fare, both Turners on "Fairly OddParents" work (and do literally *anything* else besides spending time with their only kid)---Dad as generic office middle-management and Mom as a realtor.

The Jetsons, I think, might've had its roots in the comic strip Blondie.
That could be one reason. The voice of Jane in the show, Penny Singleton, played Blondie in a popular movie series made throughout the 40's that later often got aired on the weekends on many stations through the 90's.

Another show would be Kim Possible. Both parents are doctors (Mom a brain surgeon, Dad a physics scientist).
I guess you could count The Simpsons, although Homer and Marge had quite a number of jobs over the years on and off aside from Homer's job at the nuclear plant.
