View Full Version : Cartoon Network Series Premiere for "Stoked" confirmed
During TDA, the USA premiere date of Stoked, a new show from the creators of TDI/A and 6teen, was confirmed: July 16 at 8:30PM. Question is, who's getting dropped, or who's joining the HHT roster? Are there still episodes of Johnny Test or LOSE left to air?

I have a bad feeling it's going to be Chowder. :(

You sure that's not a mistake? TV Guide's website has "Stoked" airing on 9:30, after "Total Drama Action".

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack airs at that time I think so I could see Cartoon Network working something out between it and Chowder. If this show becomes a hit like Total Drama Island/Total Drama Action or 6Teen then I could see it replacing The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack or Chowder with the show that doesn't get replaced replacing the replaced show. Hopefully, they'll keep airings at a minimum early until it has more episodes to air and that they air the episodes in order.

Oh, well. At least 6Teen is an animated show. Thats something, I guess.
They are airing promos for it A LOT now. I saw it about 5 times while watching Ed, Edd, n Eddy.
Maybe HHT is being extended by an hour? It seems CN hasn't aired some Johnny Test episodes.

They have. But Johnny is getting another season so it seems possible.

In Canada. As of yet, there's been no word on whether the new season of Test will be coming to the U.S. or not. CN would seem to be the most likely candidate to air it when or if it does, though.

A voice actor who works on Johnny Test confirmed that CN acquired 26 more episodes of Johnny Test on his blog.

HHT getting an extra hour would make everything better because we get to keep Flapjack and Chowder but get an extra hour to work with on the schedule.
I would like to see concrete proof though. Because if HHT stays at two hours original comedy is in jeopardy on the block, which would be the death blow for Flapjack and Chowder who are already in trouble.

8:00 PM Chowder (http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/chowder/EP00015265)(NEW)
8:30 PM Misadv. of Flapjack (http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/the-marvelous-misadventures-of-flapjack/EP01058624) (NEW)

9:30 PM Stoked (http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/stoked/EP01154742)(NEW)
Extending Har Har Tharsdays doesn't seem likely because there are CNReal shows at 7:00pm and 7:30pm.

That may have been the original plan, but CN's backdoor schedule, like the promo, says Stoked is airing at 8:30pm: http://schedule.cartoonnetwork.com/servlet/ScheduleServlet?action=viewAll&showID=364288&show=Stoked
Also, the CN Real hour before HHT is gone in favor of Johnny Test reruns.

The 6teen premieres are staying put at 9:30pm. What we don't know yet is what's going to happen to Flapjack, as that's the slot where Stoked will be airing.

Ugh, no more Johnny Test. I hate Johnny Test as much as I do Live-Action. It's a WB show that got moved to CN and I hate it with a passion. Can we just take off Johnny Test and put more of the classics like Ed Edd n' Eddy?

I don't see why Johnny Test should be taken off. It has proven itself to a ratings grabber since there are many people that actually do like it.

Would you rather have an animated show or a live action show?
Watch, they'll put BrainRush or The Othersiders in the extra half hour slot. :/

I just want something different than Johnny Test. The one thing Cartoon Network likes to do is continuously air re-runs, which they used to do for like 3-4 hours, and drove me up the wall.
I'd prefer any animation over Live-Action of course as beggars cannot be choosers.
And as for live-action no, it would not surprise me if they did that. Heck every other show broadcasted on Cartoon Network is Live Action because they're putting it in every spot imaginable now.

I hate johnny test and live action but I cant complain because I hate cn's live action more. If I could choose I would replace it with new episodes of adventure time when it comes to cn.
Here's what I wouldn't be surprised to see as the new HHT schedule.
7:00PM Chowder (NEW)
7:30PM Flapjack (NEW)
8:00PM BrainRush
8:30PM Stoked (NEW)
9:00PM Total Drama Action (NEW)
9:30PM 6teen (NEW)
Though I'm sure all of us could agree that any cartoon would be better off than A CN Real show. Even Ed, Edd n Eddy reruns.

Isn't Brainrush a CN Real Show? (I mean it's advertised as such.)
And I doubt that Brainrush would show up on HHT

Ed, Edd 'N' Eddy is currently airing on CN, so there'd be no reason for Johnny Test to be taken off in place of it. Anyway, Johnny Test isn't going anywhere as long as it still puts butts in seats. It doesn't matter to me how many times CN runs Test, because I'm not being forced to watch it.
Anyway, the absence of Johnny Test wouldn't bring back the "classic" Cartoon-Cartoons of the 1990s. CN would probably just air more live action smeg or more encores of Flapjack, Chowder or Total Drama Island in it's place. The only way that the "classics" would come back to CN would be if someone were able to convince the people in charge of CN that kids 13 and under would have any desire to see these shows and/or that a substantial profit could still be made from them.

No, it wasn't. It may have aired during one of YAH's timeslots, but it used the CN Real bumpers instead, so I don't think it was considered part of YAH.

In addition to {Shadow}'s post, Survive This could be placed as an action show unlike Brain Rush which isn't relateable to most of the comedy genre.

You mean on Har Har Tharsdays? No, they're all on Boomerang now, and even if CN was still airing those shows, they've ceased production years ago, and therefore don't need to be shown on a block that's supposed to be for premieres. Putting Dexter, PPG or Cow & Chicken on HHT would be like putting The Flintstones, Yogi Bear or Scooby-Doo on Cartoon-Cartoon Frdays.

Har Har Tharsdays is supposed to be for comedy, and Chowder's premieres have been half premieres lately, so I can't see why they couldn't fit in.
Or at least they could create a CN:Classic Block or something.

I'd say the latter suggestion makes more sense. The Cartoon-Cartoons definitely have a place on CN and they'd be a welcome sight, but blocks like HHT are for first-run shows. Chowder and Flapjack may be running half-premieres right now, but both shows are as of this moment still in production; by contrast there hasn't been a new episode of Dexter's Lab or Cow & Chicken in years. Those shows are both old enough to air on Boomerang now (which they do).
So even if the so-called 'classics' did return to CN, they shouldn't be on HHT. Just my opinion, though.

Well seeing as YAH is gone, it couldn't hurt to put it there and see where it goes, maybe even revive the original Cartoon Cartoon Fridays somehow. (Not saying I would expect this at all.)
Of course, friday is now more know for action, thursday for comedy, wednesday for Live-Action (Despite how much I'm disgusted with it.), so maybe a CN:Classic on monday or tuesday?
Or, as suggested before, since there have been half-premieres of Chowder and Flapjack, they will share a timeslot.
Example:
8:00PM Chowder (NEW)
8:15PM Flapjack (NEW)

Sounds like it might be worth watching. Haven't seen a good surfing cartoon since Rocket Power left Nickelodeon. At least the character designs will be a little easier on the eyes.
Speaking of character designs, that one girl in Stoked could just about pass for 6Teen's Caitlin's twin sister. (Correct me if I've got her name wrong. She's the blonde girl who works wearing a lemon hat at the mall.)

Okay, I looked at the backdoor schedule and this is how it will be starting July 16
7:30 - NEW Chowder
8:00 - NEW Flapjack
8:30 - NEW Stoked
TDA and 6teen will stay the same.
Essentially, Chowder and Flapjack will now air half-hour earlier than the current timeslot.

I just hope they do at least promote the time change a bit like saying "Catch Chowder at it's new time". But considering that the schedule being what it is, the phrase "I don't think so Tim" comes to mind.

It wouldn't surprise me if they don't mention Chowder's new time slot either. However, considering how they have mentioning how HHT is new all summer long, I could see them airing promos for all of their new episodes and then at the end mention the new time for the block.
