For those who have Cablevision's iO, Cartoon Network has been added to their roster of high-definition channels. Now that iO has Boomerang and CNHD, I wonder if CN West is on the way.

For those who already have CNHD, what programs (outside of the YAH shows) air in true HD?

Wow, I didn't even notice. Then again, I haven't watched Cartoon Network all day as I was out for a bit, and then just finished watching CNN's Michael Jackson special and am now watching the BET Awards. I'll make sure to check it out later and see what shows are in True HD.

None of them, not even the YAH shows. They're all just upscaled and given the stretch-and-zoom treatment.

I've had CNHD for a LONG LONG LONG time. None of the shows are in HD. They are in Flex-O-Vision. Which means its TRUE DIGITAL (like the original director's copy quality) versions of the shows but stretched out to look HD. Courage The Cowardly Dog was in its best quality yet when it was airing on CN on the HD channel. Also, iO never had/has Boomerang.

I think Chowder and Flapjack aired in Widescreen on HD...is it true?

Only a few episodes were animated in widescreen, I do believe. But even then, not even the episodes made in widescreen are shown in HD.

It's really a waste of a channel, if you ask me.

Correction: ALL episodes of "Chowder" and "Flapjack" are in widescreen. However CN airs them full-screen by cropping off the left and right side. Thankfully the production team seemed to have been aware of it, since they've been careful in having all essential action in the middle of the screen.

Only one or two "Chowder" were aired in letterbox

It's in widescreen, but that doesn't mean it's high-definition. If the program guide on my TV doesn't have a little "HD" logo beside the show name, it's not HD.

You Are Here on Fridays in the only time you will get true HD. Otherwise, it's a total waste of airspace.

So, basically the gold bug that airs proclaiming "Available in High Definition" on the YAH shows is false advertisement?

...Isn't that against the law?

How about the other shows (especially the comedy ones)?

Maybe it's my TV, but the picture looks no different in HD. And yeah, I also usually see the "HD" logo next to the network bug if the channel is really HD.

CN HD looks better on my TV, now hopefully we can get more shows made in high definition instead of made in SD and converted to HD

True HD or not, it still looks better than the standard definition version of the channel.

I'm glad that Cablevision finally got a High Definition feed for Cartoon Network. Now, Cartoon Network needs some more High Definition programming other than Star Wars: The Clone Wars on You Are Here.

Good news for those that have Cablevision.

*Is still waiting on Verizon FiOS*

None of these are shown in HD, sorry. Not in the USA, anyway.

Pokemon started airing in HD over in Japan about 13 weeks ago. The episode when it switches is coming on soon in the USA, so hopefully it will air in HD. Also, I remember the Giratina movie airing with the "Available in High Definition" thing.

You and me both, brother. Too bad it'll probably go through a radical format change before we have a real chance to enjoy it. Also too bad I couldn't enjoy it before they started airing those obnoxious CN Real/Teen cartoon ads, but eh, other than that, it's the same network it's been since 2004. I honestly never thought we'd finally get it, it's like a pleasant stroll down memory lane, with the classic programming and all those old Shorties and Groovies. Leave Boomerang alone, CN; it's fine the way it is.

As for Cartoon Network in HD...someone needs to tell them to turn off the 'HD Zoom/Fill' button. To be sure, the video and audio quality is better than the standard feed, but the warped screen practically makes it a complete waste. If it wasn't made to fit a HD screen, don't try to force it; it's not like the other major networks do, as far as I can tell.

^ That's just the standard definition picture, stretched and zoomed. No, that's actually the HD version. CN's logo turns gold and says "HD" on it when a broadcast actually gets it from everything I've been reading.
