Name of a cartoon from which i remember only one scene?

Please help me, I am trying to find out which cartoon is this, I saw it as a kid in the late 1980's or early 1990's.

What I remeber is this:
a slow and mushroom-like guy with eyes half shut is helping another guy wrap up a present. The slow one puts his finger on the present so the other one can tie up a knot, but ends up with the present stuck on his finger for the most of the cartoon. He walks around with the hand in front of him, present dangling on his finger.

I hope someone recognises this, I'm getting desperate :confused:

It may not have necessarily been him. It could have been two of the others, or him and one of the others. Though, IIRC, they all did look pretty similar.

unfortunately I'm almost 100% sure this is not what he looked like.
When i said mushroom-like, I didn't mean he was a mushroom, I meant to say he had a hat shaped that way or something, and had a tube-ish body with short legs.

But if you know the scene from mario bros, i could be wrong:D

although I'm pretty sure it was a more classic cartoon than mario
(and I am almost sure he had a nose :)))

Actually, I remember some of the other mushroom people being a bit taller or slimmer, and looking basically like tubes with mushroom hats. (Forgot whether they had noses. Possible!)
