Premieres: June 25th at 9:00 PM Eastern

The third episode airs tonight on Har Har Tharsdays. Here is the synopsis:
After winning the alien challenge in the previous episode, Gwen and Trent are chosen to become captains of the two opposing teams of the season. Who will they choose for their teams and will this get in the way of their relationship?Remember, no spoilers from those who seen it.
EDIT: Sorry, I accidently started the thread a few minutes early.

This is one of my favorites! Of course, since I've already seen the first 12 in advance, all of them are my favorites!
Don't forget, whenever a contestant gets voted off, I will update the progress chart on my DeviantArt site at http://bad-asp.deviantart.com! It could be this episode, it could be a later episode, who knows?

Really looking forward to the new teams. Since, apparently, Trent and Gwen can pick the members, the teams should have better dynamics.
And Bad Asp, you're doing the retrospective this week, right?

Yep. Of course, that's assuming someone gets voted off this week. This season is going to be 26 episodes, just like last season, so there are probably going to be a whole lot of episodes where no one gets voted off.

I guess looking back, we should have known about Trent and his problem in this episode.
-Recap
-Theme
-Expected a new host?
-Ew.
-Team picking time...
-Oh, big deal, Trent.
-Trent is really getting annoying.
-She didn't figure that out sooner?
-...Heather? On Gwen's team?
-Original designs for DJ and Tyler as "crew dudes"..
-Evil Chris..
-This whole jealousy thing with Gwen and Trent is annoying.
-Just do it, DJ.
-No, Heather.
-Izzy's Scottish?
-Woah, angry Chef.
-Good, they didn't edit out "sexy".
-More Heather Karma.
-Harold/Heather romance hinting?
-I can't help but find Izzy dressed like that hilarious.
-Switched scripts? Oh geez...
-Why are Chef's tears green?
-Elimination time.
-Note how the voting device has castmates from the other team on it..
-Ah, I see. The trophies are foil-covered chocolate..
-Izzy...umm.. E-Scope gets voted off. Not very surprising.
-Nice city view.
Glad to see Izzy gone. She hasn't been funny in a long time, and most of her jokes in the show were just "LOL LOOK AT ME I'M CRAAAAAAAZYYYYY!!!"

I was afraid that, since she was a fan favorite, they would have kept her around for a while. I believe she is best in small doses, which hasn’t been the case in these first few episodes.

So because Gwen 'drafts' Duncan as her first pick, ol' jealous Trent picks Lindsay? Something tells me this tiff won't end well. (Okay... spoke too soon it seems.)
Little shocked that Leshawna told Gwen to pick Heather despite all of their previous arguments - but I see what she's going for here. I also wonder if a Heather-Harold relationship, if even just by an alliance standpoint, is in the offing.
And just like that... Izzy's gone from TDA? I guess there's no one else to blame for the loss in the challenge, but still... kinda felt like an empty elimination this week. Not sure if anyone deserved to go this week.

Well, Courtney hasn't been forgotten about. And, to no one's surprise I would imagine, Duncan still likes her.
And Lindsay still likes Tyler... or at least someone named Tyler. Considering she seemed to be confusing Tyler with someone who could possibly help their team, one kinda' has to suspect she still doesn't really remember who Tyler was.
You know, whether or not Chef was fake crying just to make sure DJ's team won the challenge, his team probably deserved it... Izz...E-Scope probably wasn't the best choice of actress if the intent was to make Chef cry.
So, I guess Heather's going to try to use Harold as her pawn this season. Can't really see him being used as easily as Beth and Lindsay.
I believe [Izzy] is best in small doses, which hasn’t been the case in these first few episodes.
I'd say voted out on the third episode counts as a small dose. A bit short, but it's not like there're really any dangling threads left open, as opposed to a certain other contestant who may or may not come back.

It was indeed an interesting episode where Izzy being all insanely crazy and how trent grow some jealously between Gwen and Duncan being on the same teams. I do agreed about Izzy getting voted off this episode, she hasn't been all that funny on Total Drama Action at all the only funny part she said was " I thought I was crazy!" to Trent :anime: but yea, Izzy isn't not that fun anymore...she kinda like casual.
Duncan's play was so cute! he made Chef and Chris cried :).
I like it how Lindsay calls out Tyler's name and everyone told her he isn't on the game anymore :anime: she probably has a defective memory or something.
I was really surprised of CN didn't edited out " Hot, Sexy, Stunt-like" :) They usually edited out "Hot" weird huh?
Anyways, it was an great episode once again and I hope next week would be funny! A Beach reference movie...maybe?
So where there any edits in this episode?
Not that I could notice. If "sexy" and "hot" were left in, they probably left the rest of it alone.

A rather amusing episode, and seeming to set things up for future episodes.
Movie Genre:
Guess the genre is the general category of "tear-jerkers"... or slightly-less-vaguely historical drama and some sort of gangster film, both the types of films that seem to get nominated for "best picture" Oscars these days...
Comments:
- The team names are the "Screaming Gaffers" and the "Killer Grips". Not only creatively bankrupt even for Chris (replace "Gophers" and "Bass" with "Gaffers" and "Grips"), but a bad but amusing pun on "Killer Grips". And the reactions of the gaffers themselves (and nobody knowing what a gaffer is) particularly funny. ;-)
For the record:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grip_(job)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaffer_...ture_industry)
Both positions involving lighting and/or the rigging for the cameras, apparently.
- Even the cameramen aren't immune to Justin's charms. :-)
- Guess picking Heather for Gwen's team is one way to keep an eye on her. Nice strategy, LeShawna...
- DJ refusing to pull the trailer *and* being told he needs to toughen up by Chef (in exchange for half the cash). Funny....
- We finally get to see what a "Gilded Chris" is... chocolate. :-p
- Too bad about E-Scope getting kicked off... though if last season is an indication, this might not be the last we see of her.
- Heather forming an impromptu union. Heh.
Old-but-amusing cartoon gags:
- The 90s TV show "The Critic" did the "the award is actually a chocolate wrapped in tinfoil" gag (for an Emmy gag).
Canadianisms:
- We learn Chef was an ex-Army corporal, presumably with the Canadian military, given "corporal" is used more often there as a military ranking than in the US military: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporal#Canada
- A shot of downtown Toronto, complete with the CN Tower, is seen as E-Scope's limo drives off.
Next week:
The classic 60s "beach movie" genre. See you then...

Come to think of it, the only time she was ever really crazy in this season was...
I don't think she was that crazy in this season actually. I'm trying to respect to opinion, but since it seems brief, It's hard.
Try to seriously explain why, you two. I hate it when it's too little to explain.

Yes, they were left in, but the real challenge comes in the next episode whenther it could be edited or not.

Try to seriously explain why, you two. I hate it when it's too little to explain. :shrug:It felt more noticeable to me this season, mostly because her craziness was a lot less subtle and relevant to the challenges.

I updated the chart now! It includes information on this episode, including who got voted off, and which team the twelve remaining contestants are on (the red icon represents the Killer Grips, and the green icon the Screaming Gaffers).
And now, let's begin the retrospective!
Retrospective 2: Iz- er, I mean, "Kaleidoscope"
Episode 1: E-Scope was the first one "captured" by the animatronic monster in the monster movie challenge. She had a crush on the giant monster, but the monster had a crush of its own - on the trailer where she was going to be sleeping!
Episode 2: Okay, so she didn't win the alien egg challenge, but the showdown between E-Scope and Alien Chef is one for the ages!
Episode 3: Trent picked her to be on the Killer Grips team. Okay, so she wasn't picked exactly. She was the only girl left, so she was on the Killer Grips by default. Anyway, she played an old lady in the acting challenge... albeit an old lady with an overexaggerated Scottish accent. As convincing an actress she was in that challenge (even though she broke out of character when she wanted to show everyone she could flip her eyelids), Duncan was a better actor, sending the Grips to the Gilded Chris Ceremony. Who was the first Grip voted off? Granny McE-Scope.
Okay, Puzzleglum, what's the analysis on Izzy?

Okay, Puzzleglum, what's the analysis on Izzy?
Analysis: Izzy/E-scope, from her performance this season, seemed to fair adequately with the movie challenges. The wild card, of course, was her personality. It's too bad there wasn't any "psycho killer" challenge, because I'm willing to bet she would do well there. As it is, however, Izzy probably wouldn't survive as a movie star. Too crazy.
Act-o-meter: 6 out of 10. She wasn't that bad in this episode, but Duncan was better. With other movie genres, it's hard to say though. Her mind's always someplace else.
Popularity: 7 out of 10. Especially with Owen.

Heh. Duncan as a consomate professional. Getting fully into character and everything.... Who would have guessed?
It was good to see that they went somewhere with the Duncan/Gwen similarities that they've hinted at occassionally. (Mostly the last episode and the horror movie episode from last season) Wonder if this'll be the end of that subplot, or if it'll resurface again...

I finally got to see this episode and I thought that it was pretty good. I was surprised that Heather is on Gwen's team, but maybe they thought it would be better to be with her now so that they can keep an better eye on her than if she was in the other team. I can understand why Trent would be feeling jealous of Duncan since there have been times where there are simlarities between him and Gwen. At least they made up at the end.
I also liked how Duncan was able to become emotionally in touch with his character in the challenge. I wasn't too surprised that Izzy was voted off since her performance really didn't pull off the emotional aspect they were going for. I also thought that she wasn't that likable in this episode for some reason. Plus, I have found her less funny than usual in the past couple of episodes. Overall, it was a nice episode and I check out the next episode to see what happens next.

I thought the mixing up of scripts was brillant, and freaking hillarous on both ends. Plus Cheif's tearing up, not to Heather in the background, uncharacteristic behavior, was just golden.
PS: Is just me, or is Justin just like Rory "Riot" Llewelyn? Good looking, arrogant, have powers to control people with their beauty, and often uses their powers for sinister purposes. The episode title reminded me of the blond hair narciest lead singer of the Stingers. Only difference is, Justin's powers works on guys too. But Riot is from a different time, jokes that imply homosexual feelings was taboo 20 years ago in a children's cartoon show. Incase, you don't know Rory Llewelyn is a character from an 80's cartoon show Jem. I can't realise that sooner, I always knew Lindsay was just like Melody Valentine from Josie And The Pussycats.
Also they should do an anime challenge. If they are doing all types of movie challenges, let's have an anime tribute episode. Lindsay would make a great anime heroine.
