Ash, Brock, and Dawn continue their adventures through the sinnoh region while battling some intense rivals and great villans.

4

Recently:
Dawn’s currently has three ribbons.
Jessie also won her second ribbon while Ash was competing in a gym battle.
Ash met up with another rival, Barry. Barry for some reason is a huge Paul fanboy.
Dawn’s Swinub evolved into Piloswine, and then into a Mamothswine.
Ash won his 6th gym badge against Bryon.

4

Last Time:
“Steeling Piece of Mind!”
Encore: Sunday, June 21st, 7:30am
Dawn has found out where her next pokemon contest will be held at. But first the gang will take a detour to Iron Island to help Barry out. It seems that all the Steel type pokemon on the island are freaking out. Here to help investigate is the Iron Island native, Riley and his Lucario. Barry and Team Rocket discover Team Galactic behind the troubles of Iron Island, but are caught up with Mars. Ash, Dawn, Brock, and Riley also discover Team Galactic in the middle of something big. And as Team Galactic unleashes the next stage of their plan, Lucario becomes overwhelmed and loses control, just like the rest of the Steel types.

This Time:
“Saving the World From Ruins!”
Saturday, June 20th, 9:00am Eastern
Encore: Sunday June 28st, 7:30am Eastern
Team Galactic is in the middle of their most recent stage in their attempt to capture Diagala and Palika. By doing so, Riley’s Lucario has become overwhelmed by the immense power that was just released by the Iron Island ruins. Lucario has turned against Ash and Riley. Can they stop Lucario… let alone Team Galactic and their evil plan?

Notes:
Encores are back Sundays at 7:30am
Battle Dimension reruns are still on weekdays at 8:00am
There are a few Galactic Battle blocks this next week.
First of which is today from 12-2, and second is on Tuesday from 11-12.
… and I might as well throw this in there. Yes I know I’m a shameless self promoter, but I made this for you all… it’s the Galactic Battle opening redone with better music. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cFT5BrWqmg)
Enjoy.

I totally loved watching this episode. Though, it obviously helps that it features my favorite Pokemon, Lucario, in it, but it also had quite a few intense moments. I was surprised to see that Riley could use aura as a shield like that. That was pretty different from what we saw in the Lucario movie and in the Riolu special. I did like how the light from the Iron Island Ruins was so bright and powerful that it attracted other characters like Prof. Roran, Cynthia's grandmother and even Reggie. So, Riley is training to be an Aura Guardian with Lucario? That actually makes a lot of sense considering Riley looks so much like Sir Aaron. I felt so bad for Lucario since it was in so much pain.

I did like seeing how Ash and Brock worked together to hold down Lucario. I was surprised that Pikachu didn't just use Thunderbolt on its own. I could understand Ash not wanting to attack Lucario due to its immense pain, but I thought that Pikachu would just attack on its own. Despite how long it took for the attack to hit Lucario, it didn't seem to do that much. Though, I guess that it might have cleared up its head enough to where it knew what the real source of it's pain was. Too bad Lucario ended up being knocked out, but it was in so much pain.

It was nice to see that Dawn was actually going to try and do something on her own with saving Barry and Team Rocket. I especially liked how she wasn't going to just leave Team Rocket in the hole, as there have been times where Ash and his friends just leave Team Rocket in danger. It's too bad that Dawn's rescue plan didn't work out too well. Though, a crazed Steelix is not an easier challenge to deal with.

I don't remember the last time Brock actually used Sudowoodo. I did like seeing Ash and Brock team up again, but I didn't see Brock's Pokemon actually doing something. It was also nice to see Staravia use Brave Bird since it hasn't used that move since the Velistone City Gym battle. I honestly thought that they took down the machine way too easily, but I was just so happy that Lucario was back to normal. It seemed that Cyrus knew that Ash was there or at least implied that he knew who was causing Team Galactic problems.

I was so surprised that Mars was actually going to blow up the entire island. Dang. Not only is Team Galactic much smarter in the series than they are in the games, but they're much more hardcore. I know that they used explosives in their last appearance, but that was only around a museum. This was an entire island full of people and Pokemon and Mars didn't seem to have any problem with killing them all. Wow.

I loved how Riley and Lucario wanted to take care of the bombs themselves since Ash and his friends get to save the day all of the time. It's nice to see someone else handle the big problem for a change of pace, especially when that person looks like Sir Aaron and has a Lucario with him.

The bomb situation did give Team Rocket a chance to show how caring they really are with Jessie returning her Pokemon to their Pokeballs and James holding them tight. I thought that Ash had a good idea with Chimchar's Dig attack, but it's too bad that it didn't work out. I felt so bad for James when he was crying like that. He's so nice and sensitive, which is why he's my favorite Team Rocket member. I didn't expent Carnavine to learn Vine Wip like that. I think this is the first time that a Team Rocket Pokemon has learned a new move without evolving or being given away to train, as was the case with Cancena. I love it when Ash and his friends can get along and help Team Rocket.

I didn't think that Riley and Lucario would use their aura shields to contain the explosions. That was so awesome. I loved the effects of the aura sheild, especially when they sent it up in the sky. That did obviously take a lot out of both Lucario and Riley. I loved Riley and Lucario in the last episode, but Riley and Lucario even became more awesome to with this use of aura.

I was surprised to see that Cynthia's grandmother came so soon. At least she did provide some interesting information regarding the Iron Island Ruins. I didn't think that the island was once a meteor, but that would explain its design and how it mostly has wild Steel types. We also got to hear Spear Pillar being mentioned and how no one actually knows where it is in Sinnoh. I was glad that Riley would help out with uncovering the secrets of Iron Island and the ruins.

I loved seeing how James was hugging his Carnavine at the end, being so happy that it learned a new move. I didn't like Caranvine too much before this episode, but I like it a bit more now. I did like how Jessie and Meowth weren't going to bother James with moving their Magikarp sub this time. I love it when Team Rocket is friendly with each other.

It was nice to see that Empoleon was doing better. So, after hearing of how Team Galactic is being a danger to the world, the most important thing for Ash is his next badge. Yeah, that's typical Ash for you. I was glad that Barry has been much more likeable, to me at least, in these couple of episodes. He isn't as much of a Paul fanboy at the moment since he was talking about he's now Paul's competition. Hopefully, Barry will turn out to be a good rival for Ash and who doesn't annoy the heck out of me like Paul does. I miss those good rivals who don't annoy me at the same time.

Anyway, it was nice that they said goodbye, but I was disappointed that we didn't get to see a wave goodbye from Riley and Lucario. After all that they went through, I was hoping that they would be there at the end of the episode. That's pretty much my only complaint for the episode. Cyrus was pretty forgiving of Mars' failure and they have a lot of Mount Concornet scanned. I wonder what they'll try to do next.

Overall, it was a great epsiode. I loved seeing Lucario going back to normal and the team up with Lucario and Riley using their aura to save the island was awesome. Seeing Ash and Brock team up for a bit was nice too. Team Galactic is really intense, which is a nice change from the games they made in my opinion. I'm so looking foreword to next week's episode to see what happens next.

They used the Galactic Bomb in the games to blow up Lake Valor so they could easily catch Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, and in Platinum, they used one in the Pastoria Great Marsh.

Oh yeah. I forgot about those moments in the games when they actually did use bombs. However, I still think that there are some differences. In the games, they didn't endanger humans and all of the Magikarp were alive after the explosion as well. The Pastoria Great Marsh is the only time they endangered people with explosives. Even so, I'm not sure if the damage they did with those explosives were as bad as attempting to destroy an entire island with hundreds of people and Pokemon on it.

It really reflects on how hardcore Cyrus is himself, since he was the one that gave the order to blow up the island.

From what his reaction was to Ash's meddling with their plans, Cyrus ain't gonna be so friendly next time they meet.:p I also noticed how they're organized...it almost seems like Saturn is a higher ranking commander than Jupiter and Mars. Since Saturn was given the assignment to excavate Spear Pillar, that's definately a big contrast from the games, since he wasn't up there....which kinda sucked, at least he'll be up there in the anime.

Well, now we know why they stole the Veilstone meteorites in an earlier episode. That was gonna drive me nuts if I didn't find out.

I can't remember, but on the games was Spear Pillar on the outside of the mountain, and not the inside? It kinda confused me on why Team Galactic needed to dig for it in the anime...

And so part 2 of Riley and Lucario along with Team Galactic.... and it just blew me away.

First of all, Riley is an Aura Guardian. EPIC WIN! That practically made the whole episode for me right there. It's true, so there are aura guardians still around. Now, they didn't say anything about Sir Aaron, but this was more than enough to make me happy. Plus it was very interesting to see how an Aura Guardian actually works. I mean, we never saw Sir Aaron in action (other than giving his aura to Mew) so seeing Riley create that aura barrier was just fantastic. Excellent touch.

Now this is the thrid aura guardian we've heard about (remember that one aura guardian with the Pikachu a while back....) and two of them have a Lucario. Now a Lucario is ideal for an aura guardian, becuase it's the aura pokemon afterall, but at least with the one exception metioned earlier in the D/P series, it means that a Lucario is not a requirment. So there is still hope that Ash could become an aura guardian without catching a Lucario.

Team Galactic: this whole deal with them is being played out perfectly. Of course, they couldn't do too much in this episdoe, but Cyrus is a great villan. I love how a failure is only a temporary setback. He wasn't crewl like "Mars... you're gonna die!" or something like that. He relizes that everything doesn't go accoring to planned, so he allows some room for error. That's pretty cool headed of him.

Mars did a fantastic job freezing everyone with the explosivies. That was pretty intense. Of course the only problem with that was that if she would have pressed it then and there, she would have died too, so it was a little bit of a bluff. Riley and Lucario both did a fantastic job again containing the blast.

Now Cynthia's grandma was a plesent suprise. I'm sure she's going to tell Cynthia about these happenings as well.

And James, proving that he is the least evil of the Team Rocket Trio. Caravine learning vine whip is cool, but of course, that means the Ash has to put up with it in the future.

And one last note, I hope Ash meets up with Paul soon, so he can tell him about Barry. I'm very curious as to what Paul's reaction will be.

 Did one of the Grunts just call Mars "sir"? That's the second time I heard a woman being called that, the first I heard it is when some of Hunter J's henchmen refered to her as "sir". Is it either a dubbing error, or do they actually do that in Japan?

I just assumed it was a seniority thing. Like in the Military where you call your superior "sir."

As for this episode, it was awesome. Nice to see them acknowledge Riley ability to manipulate Aura. Carnivine developing Vine Whip was sweet, and even hilarity from Barry.

Pokehunter J's henchmen also refer to her as, "Sir," its not exactly uncommon.

This 2-parter was pretty good. They still need to put Buck and the goth girl in eps though, I forgot her name, they're the last two traveling companions in DP aside from Cheryl, Mira and Riley.

That kinda clears things up for me, lol. Now it makes sense...especially since they kinda take on a military-type style in a way.

I'd actually like to see Barry again, that guy cracks me up, more than he does on the games. I kinda laughed when he said "I give, who's Riley?" Reason being is because I haven't heard "I give" or "what gives?" in a long time.

This is kinda off-topic, but I made this:

Every once in a while I'll put up a fanart I did in a talkback related to the show....I did that a couple of times with some Code Lyoko talkbacks, so I kinda did this randomly.:anime:

I dunno why but I really love Mar's line about not bluffing and not needing the world. It striked me as kinda deep and darker then the usual dub pokemon episodes. It sounded awesome!

I think it would be cool if the both of them were competitors in the Sinnoh League, that way there's more to look forward to besides Ash vs Barry and Paul. Knowing the writers that's not going to happen but it would a nice change of pace.

Because surely the writers follow a strict formula when indroducing in-game characters into the anime...

I have a feeling all of the companion characters will make an appearance in the DP series someway.

The writers of this show can be fairly predictable at times. With the way leagues and companion characters have been handled so far nothing suggests Buck and Marley will play a role in the Sinnoh League.

I could see Marley being a part of the Sinnoh League, thought it's probably more likely that she'll be a character of the day character like Mira was. I'm sure that Buck will appear on Stark Mountain when/if Ash and the others travel to the Battle Zone island.

I enjoyed the episode, the animation was good and I liked the muisc. But how the heck did Cyrus know it was Ash who was attacking? LOL Him again, both Cyrus and Hunter J will love working together, they both hate the kid :p
I love how powerful Ash is, he can block an attack while Riley can't *WE* Team Galxy is pretty cool though I can't wait for them and Ash and his team to run into each other again, Cyrus will want to beat the crap out of Ash the next time they see each other, he isn't as friendly as Team Rocket have become LOL. I wish Ash mentioned his arua and that he wants it to be just as strongs as Rileys, surley he wants to do all the stuff he was able to do so he can save his friends lives? I'm glad Ash wanting a gym badge is more important than saving the world, when the kid ges some thing in his mind it really sticks doesn't it? LOL. Over all a good episode. I'm just a little late to post.

Cyrus has ESP...lol, that'd make him a supervillain then.:anime: When he said "him again", I answered "Yeah thas right foo'....recognize." He probably got the feeling that they'd be crossing paths again once they met for the first time.

I'd really like to see Hunter J and Team Galactic team up somewhere....back in Double Team Turnover, Jupiter mentioned something about having a Pokemon Hunter help her with capturing the Lake Trio, so there could be a chance of that happening...I hope so.

That's right, so I believe that they will be working together. Most likely Galactic will just use J to capture whatever pokemon they need to continue with their plan.

Now Cyrus having ESP would def make him more threatning LOL. Cyrus "I have predicted your every move boy, now what will you and that rat do?" Yah I think from what happend in the episode Hunter J will be with Team Galxy for sure and I just imagine there lovley conversation

Cyrus: That annoying boy!
Hunter J: That annoying boy!

Both of them realize there talking about the same kid. It'd prob make them less stressed out when coming across Ash the next time :p
