This week on HHT: A double-length episode of Chowder! After that, half-new episode of Flapjack. Then, new TDA, and 6teen.

This Saturday on CN Real: Kids compete for cash on a rollercoaster in a new episode of Brainrush. Then, surfers and techies wreck stuff with cranes in Destroy Build Destroy.

I watched the new Flapjack segment via Comcast on Demand (it was up there early for some reason), so I'll probably watch it again.
Seeing how much CN Real's ratings bombed, don't expect me to watch it. :)

Hmmm... a full episode of Chowder instead of a half, that sounds pretty sweet to me. It looks like I'll actually end up watching all of HHT this week.

If this schedule is accurate for YAH!, I think that Secret Saturdays might be the only show I watched. Don't care much for Decoded.

Saturday Morning will just be Pokemon and YGO 5D, even if the Pokemon episode next week is supposed to be one of those cute episodes.

As for CNReal, Survive This, BrainRush and DBD are definite watches from me.

Why are they just airing encores as opposed to encores of D,B,D and BrainRush?

Yet another The Flicks rerun of a rerun.. Why are they airing so few premiere movies?

Also overly high amount of TDA encores...

An interesting schedule we have for next week. I'll be looking foreword to the new episodes of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, The Secret Saturdays, Chowder, Flapjack, TDA, 6Teen and the hour blocks of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. Too bad that they don't have a new episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold since I like watching the first hour of YAH with two new episodes, but I'll probably still see the rerun anyway.

Can't say I'm too happy about Cartoon Network airing random episodes of Chaotic and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's on weekdays. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is best seen in its intended order, and while there's not as much continuity in Chaotic, it still has a fair amount.

I'm pretty sure that The Secret Saturdays will air on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 AM instead of Transformers: Animated considering the past two weeks have changed it to such as well. CN probably hasn't updated their future schedule in advance the way they should have.

I thought that they would either start back at episode one, even though they just did that this week, with these hour long blocks of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, or continue on where they left off this morning. While I don't think that 5D's is too complicated, which might be from the fact that I've seen all of the dub episodes aired thus far, I agree that it would be more helpful for new viewers to see the episodes in order.

I don't see it as much of a problem for Chaotic though. Up until the M'arillians come into the picture, the other episodes could be aired out of order and I don't think that it would be too confusing for new viewers. Still, it's too bad that Cartoon Network is airing episodes out of order for these series.

Is... YAH toast? Or is Spy Kids being considered part of YAH? Curious.

Hopefully Saturdays gets good ratings in a premiere slot on Saturday morning.

So many CN Real encores... sigh.

They're playing 5D's and Chaotic out of order on weekdays? Great... Well I guess I don't really care but that'll be bad for those shows I'd imagine.

hm, i dont see anything that special..mainly reruns..i think last week was a bit better

Mickialla
06-20-2009, 11:51 AM
Well, let's start with the good first.

New Half-hour Chowder. That's cool, I hope it's good, because a lot of the season 2 episodes aren't as good as Season 1 was.

New segment of Flapjack. It'd be better if it was the whole episode, but at this point, we should just be happy we're even getting them.

And now let's move to the bad.

No YAH? Hopefully this is temporary. God, everything Cartoon Network seems to do signifies that they're constantly making changes in their direction, and each shift moves farther away from cartoons and closer to edgy reality shows. Last summer, the big thing Cartoon Network had was HHT, with Chowder, Flapjack, and TDI. Now, only TDI is being focused on, with a chance that both Chowder and Flapjack might not even be renewed. Then, come last Fall, YAH was the big thing with Clone Wars, which they advertised the heck out of. Now they're going to be replacing it with CN Real reruns? Even if it's only for one week, it's just disappointing. At this point nothing they do isn't disappointing though.

Flicks is the same:

Animated: 13
Live Action: 24

I know, I just read the YAH discussion thread.

I can't complain anymore, I'm just wasting my breath.

I won't say there still isn't hope the network will change. If the CN Real shows fail, hopefully there'll be a change in direction. Maybe there'll be a staff change, hopefully for the best. Nothing to do now but wait.

37 Reruns of CN Real shows. That is ridiculous.

This means one of two things:

CN Real is a colossal hit and CN wants to milk that success. Or . . .

CN Real has bombed on day one and the network is already desperate.

Because 37 reruns for 4 shows only on their first episode goes far beyond anything on YAH or HHT.

Doing some math.

There are 224 individual half-hour programming slots on any given week on Cartoon Network (32 per day). 49 of those slots are taken up by live-action programming. That means that on its first full week, CN Real (and LA movies) will encompass 22% of the entire schedule. That is an average of 3.5 hours a day, or 7 slots.

Looking further into this, lets see how many times these shows will be aired, and the daily average.

The Othersiders - 6 (airs 0.8 times a day)
Survive This - 10 (airs 1.5 times a day)
Destroy Build Destroy - 10 (airs 1.5 times a day)
Brainrush - 11 (airs 1.6 times a day)

These shows have only one episode, and it seems that a majority of those slots will be used only to encore the most recent episode.

Does anyone see something wrong with this picture?

Also, I'm going to do a weekly count on the LA-to-animated ration on CN's schedule every week.

Animated 73% - 22% Live-Action

My word... that's disgusting. I thought they'd give them lost of encores right away but THIS, this is going out of their way to shove CN Real down people's throats.

I will laugh my butt off if that week ends up being one of the worst rating weeks in CN history. Incidently I will be quite dissapointed if it improves the daily average instead.

:eek::eek:...Que?

Alright, what was the point of having YAH, if they were just going to get rid of it?

My point exactly. They promoted YAH a lot before it premiered. Clone Wars was basically the highlight of the upfront last year. Then they just got rid of it like that for more live-action programming.

While I knew YAH would leave eventually, I didn't think it'd be so soon. I thought it'd run for a year or a year and a half give or take, or until the Noods left (Maybe the Noods are close to leaving and they're getting rid of YAH first?). Also, I thought that when it left, it would be replaced with another action block, not more live-action.

YAH was okay. It wasn't Toonami (sue me for bringing it up), but it was fun. I doubted it'd grow too popular, but I still looked forward to it. That being said, I wouldn't be sad if it were removed, as long as it was replaced with an action block that was as good or better.

Hopefully this is temporary and is just a part of Cartoon Network's pathetic strategy to shove the live-action stuff down out throats upon launch. Maybe in a few weeks YAH will return. Maybe not. Only time will tell what happens with this network.

BTW, CN had already scheduled most of the "CN Real" encores before any of the shows premiered, so they are not adding all these repeats in based on the ratings of this past Wednesday's shows.

chdr, I think it is a good idea to keep a live-action-to-animation ratio. However, you may want to wait until the end of each week (or update it at the end of each week), in case they make some schedule changes during the week. :)

(Seriously though anyone know a cure for Insomnia that doesn't involve sleeping pills or seeing a shrink, I mean I don't know why but I just have always had trouble sleeping in the Summer. )warm milk?

CN very well could have aired new episodes of all their CN Real shows on say, Wednesday, and aired the encores on say, Saturday. Maybe a few reruns during the week, but not as many as we're getting. Those slots could be put to good use, such as airings of Grim Adventures, Ed Edd n Eddy, and maybe even Codename KND.

Personally, I wish just one of those 224 half-hour slots was taken up by the final Naruto episodes. Just finish the damn thing so we have closure.

I think it would be even worse IF CN decides to finish the series, becasue the series ends on a huge cliff hanger because of Shippuden, they would pretty much have to aquire Shippuden for real closure.

Just in case anyone is curious, Cartoon Network did continue where they left off last Friday with their airings of 5D's. They aired both parts to The Facility this morning so they aren't airing episodes out of order.

Yeah, it's worked out fine today, but now they'll just continue airing one hour blocks of random episodes (Mondays and Wednesdays are 5D's, Tuesdays and Thursdays are Chaotic). On Fridays, both shows will air once.

Hi Cartoon Network Cartoon people, I think I've found the right thread rather than starting a new one.

I was surprised to see that The Clone Wars: Decoded was not on tonight and I see that the Sunday night episode is listed as Decoded, but every place I can find says that it is "Storm Over Ryloth" but based on the order and last week's episode ("Bombad Jedi") it should be "Cloak of Darkness." Did I miss something? Is the schedule wrong? Is Decoded taking a break? Any help you folks can give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

Decoded will be on hiatus until further notice (I assume until CN decides to bring back the prime-time action block).

I didn't have access to the internet most of the week and did not know The Secret Saturdays was moving. So as a result I missed it.

I didn't see any promos for the move either, and that's not a good sign.
