Easy question, how old are you?
My girlfriend is always making remarks about me so into cartoons etc. and being almost 21. Im just curious as to how old you guys are and if your up to it, what your tv watching looks like?

Personally im not bothered by remarks made about me liking cartoons, i think its healthy to have a hobbie/interests. I would like to hear that im not the only 20 + who is a big cartoon etc. fan :D

Just turned 27, and frankly I don't see the problem with watching children cartoons. I mean if reality programs with the gross and embarassing actions pass for the holy grail of adult entertainment, then I can't really take a person seriously when they criticise programs like Tiny Toons, Spongebob or Flapjack.

31 years old and will ALWAYS watch cartoons as long as they air on television. This is an interesting question because there are members on this forum that I was wondering about how old they were, I certainly hope they post in this thread so I can get my answer. There is nothing wrong with catching cartoons at any age, enjoy what you enjoy regardless of if your 5 or 75, you will be all the more happier for it!

I'm 19, but I haven't watched as much cartoons as I have in years past. I do still watch Family Guy regularily, but I only watch Pokemon on Cartoon Network now, and I watch a little Adult Swim during the week, and I watch that block of Anime of Saturday nights. but I haven't watched that many cartoons anymore. I still watch a little anime, but I definatily haven't watched as much since the cancelation of Toonami. :(

I'm twenty, and (warning: extreme geekish content approaching!) cartoons are one of the most important aspects of my life. I count the days until the next episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and I also regularly watch Wolverine and the X-Men. I occasionally still watch Teen Titans (though my younger brothers consider themselves too mature for it. That's my 'official' stance too, but I still secretly enjoy the show.) I also watch Family Guy, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Robot Chicken.

I watched Avatar a lot last year, though I'm kind of Avatared-out at the moment. I watched JL/U a lot in the last few years, but I've lost interest in that now, thanks to my buying the DVDs and watching every episode too many times.

I plan on watching Clone Wars religiously as long as it lasts, and I will probably check out TDA when it comes out. TDI was fairly entertaining, so hopefully TDA will be as well.

I have no interest in sports or live action sitcoms, dramas, etc, so I don't watch those. I do watch various nature or military-centric shows, though. Mostly documentary-type stuff. But I have every intention of watching cartoons for decades to come.

Now I'm noticing that a lot of the younger posters are saying that they will be watching cartoon forever, but I look back on myself a few years, and I thought the same thing, but I have slowly reduced the amount of cartoons that I've watch. Now granted, I will always love animation. It give some story an extra element that a live action movie cannot obtain, but I have a hard time believe that I'll be watching cartoons forever.

I'm actually only 15 but cartoons are one of the most important things in my life and always will be. I know that a lot of people watch less cartoons as they grow up as Lazerboy said, but I'm not only planning on watching them as I grow I'm basing my entire career on them as soon as I start college. It's sad that so many people my age claim to "have grown out of cartoons," but I truly don't think I will.

You and Silverstar are related! Man, I think I've learned more today than I learned in my 8 years (yes 8 years) of college.

At the time of this post, I'm less than a month from my 28th birthday. I loved cartoons as a child until I was about 11 years old. At that point I went through about a 4 year period where I really wasn't watching cartoons. I had basically devoted my life to following sports. Then a little after I turned 15, I started to throw in old vhs tapes of the original He-man, Transformers, G.I.Joe, Thundercats, Silverhawks, the original TMNT cartoon, and The Simpsons(I'm a child of the 80's). As a teenager and then as adult I've been huge fans of the DCAU shows, South Park, Family Guy, the 2002 He-Man, and the 2003 TMNT cartoon.

Dude, I realized I was old when I watched a Toon Disney Goodbye tribute video on Youtube.:p And when I used to own a Buick....but I'm only 19.

But yeah....I still like...actually love watching cartoons, but not to the point that interferes with my adult stuff. I'm currently enjoying Ben 10: Alien Force. I haven't watched a good show like that since Teen Titans or Code Lyoko. I'm pretty psyched about season 3 coming out.

And before getting Pokemon Platinum, I just had to see what Team Galactic was like in the anime....yes, they're THAT awesome. I haven't seen awesome episodes like that since Gaining Groudon and Scuffle of Legends, but still a little more better. Cyrus OWNS.

Static Shock and the classics off of Disney like Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, and Ducktales will always be faves of mine. It kinda sucked when Dish Network only let me watch Static on Disney XD for free for about a month, then they took that channel off.

8 years?! Yeah, the whole Silverstar-and-Blackstar-are-related thing freaked me out, but 8 years of college? And I though I was bad (6 years but I didn't take classes this semester and will spend the next semester ironing out my graduation stuff).

On-topic, I'm 24. I'll be 25 on December 17, and I still watch cartoons. Sure, my interest in sports has grown in past few years thanks to work, ESPN, the sports blogs, and ESPNEWS HD, and I don't watch the animation channels that much, I still love cartoons. I'm watching KOTH on [as] right now (West Coast Feed FTW). I believe South Park is the most brilliant show on TV period. I think Basquash! is the most beautiful and well-animated show out there. I still go to my anime club every Wednesday, where this semester we had a regular member who was old enough to see the original lineup of the Sex Pistols. /jawdrop And, he, too, watches a lot of cartoons, mostly anime.

Well if Silverstar and Blackstar are 40 and they mentioned that they were children of the 70's, that would make sense because they would have been born around 1969 or 1970. I was born in late 1977, but I consider myself a child of the 80's, because thats when my memory became vivid for me and thats when my earliest memories come to mind.

I'm 22 but I'm starting to sway away from cartoons these days. They're either really lame or really kiddie. Everyone is so obsessed with what Japan does that American cartoonists don't even put in a good effort anymore. And I don't see why all of these cable networks are playing it safe when the FCC can't come down on them. I can see wanting to appeal to the parents but there's a thin line between playing it safe and playing it too safe. I also like

I'm 20 years old.

I still watch kids cartoons, but most of them are from the and the 90's and late 80's. Their are very few kids cartoons from the 2000's decade that I actually care about (JL/JLU, Wolverine & the X-Men, X-Men Evolution. and few others)

As far as adult cartoons, I love the FOX animated primetime Sunday night block of The Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad. King of the Hill is just O.K. I also love South Park, The Boondocks and Futurama.

As far as non-animated TV I watch, I watch a lot of ESPN and alot of sports. I watch the VH1 Flavor of Love spin-off reality shows. I also watch several 90's sitcoms reruns that I grew up watching (Martin, Fresh Prince, Step by Step, Family Matters, Married with Children and etc.) once in a while. I watch Desperate Housewives, Religiously :o. I also watch reruns sitcoms from this decade such as George Lopez, Former UPN Comedies and a few others once in a while. I would like to eventually like to get into the Buffyverse and Smallville, but I don't have the time.

I'm 18, and still love cartoons. Admittingly I don't watch as many as I used to, as I've been using my spare time to listen to music or watch movies instead as of late, but I still catch the Sunday night Fox lineup religiously(although I mainly skip Simpsons unless the reception for the episode was positive), I'm loving Freakazoid!'s second season all over again, and I've been trying to catch up on the original Gundam franchise recently. While I tend to turn to VH1 Classic or Turner Classic Movies first when I turn the TV on now, I still try to catch up on as many of Cartoon Network's series that I enjoy as I can, mainly the entire Har Har Tharsdays and You Are Here lineups, barring Ben 10., and I can't wait for season 2 of Spectacular Spider-Man and the rest of Wolverine & the X-Men to make it over here. A rewatching of a classic Disney movie or DCAU episode goes a long way, too.

Not as much as I used to catch, but I still like enough cartoons to say that I'm still interested in them.

I'll be 30 in less than a month and I'm pretty much done with the children's cartoon shows, with the exception of Spongebob. I never watch Cartoon Network anymore, with the exception of Adult Swim, so at this point I don't really care what happens to the channel. I'm pretty much done with it. Haven't watched Disney Channel in years and I've never tuned into Disney XD. Nick only goes on when I know Spongebob is airing, though on the weekends I'll usually stick around for Barnyard and Might B. But I can easily take or leave both shows. Most of the animation I do currently watch on TV are Family Guy and the rest of the FOX animated series, as well as South Park whenever it airs new episodes.

But I do watch a lot of stuff that I grew up with. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and I'd rather watch old Disney movies, vintage cartoon shorts, Disney and WB shows from the 1980s and 1990s and Peanuts Specials than anything currently airing. But I don't really do that very often anymore.

I think I'm just personally past the point where current childrens programming has anything to offer me. I think I just moved on from the need to religiously watch kid channels all day long. I'm glad I dont, because the direction these channels are going is in disheartening.

I'll be 21 in a few weeks. I started watching anime back when I was 13. My parents thought it would be a phase. Nearly 8 years later, well, they've finally accepted that it's a hobby. Outside of anime, I enjoy stuff ala Justice League, Batman Beyond, Futurama, South Park, the Simpsons... Disney and Pixar are also favorites.

I just turned 20 in early March, and I don't think I'll ever grow up. I prefer animation, probably because I can exercise my willing suspension of disbelief more than I can with live action. The few live action shows I watch are all 90s-era teen sitcoms and old Whose Line reruns, and the live action films I watch are either kung-fu movies or musicals. As for my animation preferences, I've always leaned heavily toward superheroes (my heroes growing up were Space Ghost and Sailor Moon).

I just turned 30 this past December. I've liked cartoons my whole life, and while I don't watch much in the way of new shows, I still enjoy watching the classics. I never had a problem with family or friends thinking I needed to "grow up" or whatever and stop watching cartoons. My dad used to enjoy sitting down with me to watch Batman: The Animated Series on his days off (just a few years ago we watched about an hour of Tom & Jerry together on Cartoon Network), and it's thanks to my mom that I was able to afford TimeLife's awesome Real Ghostbusters "Firehouse" box set last year.

As for my preferences, I most enjoy 2D animation. I don't mind CGI animated movies per se, but a lot of them (especially in recent years) just haven't done much for me. But in terms of style, I just prefer the classic 2D look. I dislike Anime as well; just not a style I can get into. Most of my favorite animated series/movies are 2D American animation from the early-80s up through the 90s.

I'm 25 and I still enjoy cartoons. I bought a DVD boxed set not too long ago of the oldschool Looney Toons. I also watch the occasional episode of the original Pokemon from the late 90s, have DVDs of both Gargoyles and X-men Evolution and occasionally watch reruns of other favorites as they appear.

Frankly folks that say I'm too old to watch cartoons can shove it. I really don't care what people think.

I'm 18 and I still love cartoons. But I don't watch as many as I used to. Now most of the cartoons I watch are on Adult Swim. I used to watch Nick and Cartoon Network a lot too, but now I don't watch anything at all on Nick and the only things I watch on CN are Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Ed, Edd N Eddy, and Billy & Mandy.

I don't think I'll ever stop liking cartoons, I'm pretty sure I'll be watching them until I'm dead.

I'm 17. I don't think I'll ever stop watching cartoons. I'm a fan of both western and eastern animation. I feel that western (and possibly anime, too) went downhill around 2004, but I think a lot of other things entertainment-related did. I am a fan of Total Drama Island/Action, though (reality show lampoon FTW :)). I hope I don't cause this discussion to go off-topic.

I grew up with Nickelodeon first and then discovered CN at around 9 or 10. I still watch both.

I'm gonna be saying the exact same thing when I'm you age, in about 5 years or so. But I say that right now anyway, and I'm only 5 months away from turning 20.

...We have new smilies?...or are they old, they kinda look like how they did when I first joined TZ two years ago.

29,and will be turning 30 next month....I've watched animation all my life, and see no reason to stop now...
TV-wise,I mostly watch Adult Swim(for Bleach,King of the Hill,Family Guy and American Dad),the cartoons on Fox Sunday night(occasionally...for King of the Hill, and The Simpsons mostly),and new episodes of South Park...
other than that,I also like Disney animation, some anime, and cartoons I watched as a kid...

I'm 18, and as long as the stories are still good and the characters relatable, I'll still be watching cartoons! :D

I'm 25. Animated programmes have always had a special appeal to me. Daria was probably the first show I developed a real obsession with, and later that mantle was taken up by Hey Arnold and then Kim Possible. My most recent favourite is Avatar, I missed it when originally broadcast but a recent viewing just blew me away. I actually think my animation fandom is growing at this point.

I don't watch cartoons on TV regularly any more, but then that applies to most TV in general. Occassionally jibes do come my way, but thankfully my family is pretty open-minded. I'm never afraid to tell parents of young children that I love cartoons, as I find that these people watch the cartoons with their kids and get to see how awesome they are, so they understand!
