"What sort of mean spirited careless person would do this?"
-The Montauk Monster

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montauk_Monster
His words have echoed through the ages, and now the mystery is bigger than ever. The Montauk Monster still goes unidentified, and yet look around, there are no replies. Washed up on a beach in July 2008, the Montauk Monster still lives to this day, unware and utterly ignorant to what it has done and the impact it has left on these internet communities. How true, I agree.

How dirty Montauk Monster got clean. Yet what is it? Turtle without shell, racoon, cat and mouse? Nobody can give a clue, because nobody has an answer. It is an exciting game of cat and monster, who will win? Who is greedy enough to say? Only the Montauk Monster knows that.

I heard it was to promote The Secret Saturdays.

I heard it was to promote The Secret Saturdays. :shrug:That was just a rumor. I think, by then, Cartoon Network had learnt its lesson from the Boston incident. They wouldn’t do something like that, especially to promote an animated program meant for children.

Yep, the CN thing just a rumor. They did use a cryptid website to promote the Secret Saturdays though. The Montauk Monster is still a mystery. No one knows what it is. (though I don't know why no DNA samples have come yet)

What was the Boston incident?

What was the Boston incident? The Aqua Teen Hunger Force bomb scare (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Boston_bomb_scare). Sure, that was [Adult Swim] and not Cartoon Network, but I think Cartoon Network would have seen how that turned out and decided not to do that sort of thing in the future. It may have gotten them a lot of publicity, but it also cost them a lot of money and several people lost their jobs.

Interesting. I've never heard of this before. Of course, I don't watch the news anymore, nor do I read about mysterious things...mysterious things don't work out for me...not at all...

Dang, I hate the show as it is and I'd never even heard of that. I can't believe even Adult Swim would do something like that.

The Lite-Brites (which have little to no resemblance to bombs) were in dozens of major cities prior to that for months (even in NYC, which actually HAD a real bomb scare). I didn't see anyone complain from there.

I think the monster is a partially decomposed raccoon.

I think the monster is a partially decomposed raccoon.

That has already been disproved, the legs are too long.

That has already been disproved, the legs are too long.By what, an inch or so? The legs are not significantly longer than the usual raccoon. People nitpick details like that, but still speak of nonsense like a turtle without its shell. :p

Raccoon.

I belive this Montak Monster was already proven to be the decaing corps of a bulldog was it not, people thought it was a experiment or chupacabra at 1st but both of those were quickly & easily disproven, While I belive there our many Mysterious & posibly Mythical creatures roaming the earth yet to be catalouged, Im afraid that this isn't one of them!

Well, a cryptid lover such as myself believes that this thing is an unknown species, and not just a raccoon or bulldog. The thing that leads to believe that is that it's been a couple months and we've heard nothing of a DNA sample and I imagine they would have taken one. If it was a known animal we probably would have heard about it right away, but if it wasn't they're not going to be quick to release it to the public without more confirmation.

*pokes around google images for more photos*

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with raccoon. Probably an old one going by the lack of teeth in the top jaw.

Not that anyone here will get that reference.

Don't look like a racoon to me.Most people aren't accustomed to seeing the fur-less corpses of furry animals which having been floating around at sea. ;)

Ignoring the bit where they superimposed a sketch of a dead raccoon - those are most definitely raccoon hands (I have seen my fare share), the skull structure his highly similar minus the upper teeth.

There's variations in body types amongst animals too, btw. :P
