View Full Version : C&C- Bleach - "Ichigo and Rukia, Thoughts in the Revolving Sky [4/10]

Bleach is on with new episodes at 1am eastern with last weeks episode at 12:30am eastern!
Last time: It was the final Bount battle between Ichigo and Jin Kariya! Kariya released his doll "Messer" who controls thunder and wind and begins to show his real power to Ichigo. As the battle between the sub soul reaper and the leader of the Bounts raged on, each of Ichigo's friends arrived to watch the battle and shared some thoughts on the situation that Ichigo and Kariya are not all that different. Yoruichi and Byakuya arrive as well to make sure that Kariya does not release all of his energy from the Jōkaishō and destroy the Soul Society in the progress. Ichigo and Kariya then decide it's time for them to finish things and charge at each other with all they got and in the end.. Kariya's doll was destroyed. Before vanishing Kariya tells Ichigo that it's a shame that he won't see if he ends up just like him.. and then Kariya vanishes in the wind.. never to be seen again..
Today: The wrap up of the Bount arc, Ichigo and his friends begin to think of Kariya and his plan and how it relates to their lives.
Notes: Next week Adult Swim decides to grow a brain and show double the new episodes of Bleach. How long is Adult Swim doing this for? I have no idea but I would just try to enjoy it while it lasts. Oh and starting May 9th(I think?), Code Geass will be having double the new airings as well. Oh and canon episodes start next week as well so... double the canon anybody?
NO SPOILERS: No talk of future arcs, characters, and etc! And of course.. no spoiling the next arc as well. Spoiling results to crazy angry mobs lead by crazy Bleach fangirls who pair certain characters together who I will not name.
Enjoy the last Bount filler.
Extra note: It seems this episode has some things from chapter 0 of the Bleach manga. So this is... not really filler then... well it kind of is.. but..not really.. but it is.. but...yeah.

Question for Megaman x, what will you do as far as talkback threads with the double premerese start next week?
Will you have talkback threads for each episode? Or one talkback thread for both episodes?
I'll say this about the Bount arc, I always wondered does Tite Kubo tell the anime writers what he plans to do? Because some of the things in this arc, could be viewed precursors to what happens in the main story.
If you want to talk about that in more detail, go to the anime message board, and discuess it if you want. There will be spoilers obviously.

You are right. Volume 23, but there is another chapter 0 or unnamed chapter that is the early version of chapters 1 - 6. I don't think it has ever been released in the manga volumes.

Question for Megaman x, what will you do as far as talkback threads with the double premerese start next week?
Oh that's easy, I will be doing two different talkbacks. I really wanted to do the rest of Code Geass but eh I will see what happens since I don't think four talkbacks made by me would make many people happy. @_@ Then again..*looks at all the ones Mugen makes*
I think it's possible....*puts armor on* this should protect me from the Geass fans..
Oh and as for this not really being filler.. huh? Man these things always seem to pop up somewhere..

I volunteer to handle the Code Geass talkbacks. I'm usually free on Friday nights so I can make the threads.
Anyway, looking forward to this finale of the Bount arc. It'll be nice to back in 100% canon material again (just remember, though. The Bount Arc IS anime canon and it does have ramifications on later anime arcs!).

It's almost over people, after it's back to canon material. Sweet Orihime-style lovely canon. With next week starting the double material, I wonder how I'll do the recaps now?
Last Time: This is it! Ichigo Vs. Jin! Soul Reaper Vs. Bount. An epic battle with the Soul Society's fate hanging in the balance! And the episode starts with Ichigo getting crap beaten out of him... Of course. Rukia & Renji show up to, of course be spectators because Rukia is still recovering and Renji is... Well Renji. Ichigo, of course, gets bailed by his inner hollow and the battle is even. Jin tries to heal himself but Rantao random stabbing prevents him with it. We see this montage of the other Soul Reapers sealing the crest occurs. Jin tries to activate one of the crests but gets rejected by Byakura, who shows up with Yoruichi and they also become spectators. Orihime, Uyru, Chad, and the mod souls finally show up. And they, you guessed, are spectators. Why? Because according to Rukia, this whole thing is Ichigo's fight. Even that's BS because it should be all the Soul Reapers' fight since Kariya is threatening to blow up the Seretei. Jin then gives some warning to Ichigo about how his powers will drive everyone away at one point. It comes to one last strike... Ichigo falls... And Jin vanishes into a poof of dust. Apparently his diabolical plan was to end his life. Seriously, it wasn't about devouring souls, it wasn't about a revolution, it wasn't even revenge, just Jin's way of offing himself... So, yeah.

Great finale episode,
The best aftermath of the Bount arc.
Interesting on how Renji,Rukia,& Ichigo started to think about Jin Kariya & his goals and how it somehow related to theirs' lives which they'll have great lives in the future:anime:after Aizen's reign of terror:evil:.
The Ichigo/Renji rivalries still amuse me since the Goku/Vegeta,Yusuke/Kuwabara,& the Naruto/Sasuke rivalries, hehehehe.
Byakuya is such a giant jerk,but he's awesome,but he's so a Sesshoumaru wannabe,hehehehe.
Good to see cute little Momo healed from her injuries.
Good that Koga will be okay since Ran Tao saved him except for poor Ichinose though which both Koga/Ran Tao will be starting a new life.
I'm happy that Ran Tao survived in the Bount arc since she was a great help to Team Ichigo/The Soul Society:anime:except for poor Yoshino though.
Good to see Yoruichi, but awesome that she saved Koga.
Yay,it's Kon:D,good to see him after his whole absence from the big battles with Jin & the Bounts,& he thinks he can beat the Bounts, hahahahaha.
I love the flashbacks when Ichigo helping spirits & first became a Soul Reaper after meeting Rukia which was great.
Gotta love Orihime's cute moments, but the poor girl stuck with Chizuru:eek::p,which Chizuru cracks me up along with Tatsuki bashing her like always which she did the "Sanji's legkick on Satori" thrash, hahahahaha.
YIKES,Chizuru does look a bit like Kallen from Code Geass & Akiza from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's,freaky.
Good to see Keigo,such a hyper,hilarious dork:p.
Good to see the cute little ghost girl from episode 1.
Well the awesome arc ends, time to move on the next awesome arc:anime:.
YIKES,it's the dude with the freaky teeth/hat with a good dub voice, who's our greatest character coming next Saturday.
I applaud Michelle Ruff's voicework on Rukia so far which she did an awesome job with all the great main females like Elie from Rave Master,Yuki from Idaten Jump,Princess Euphemia from Code Geass,Kluke from Blue Dragon,& Yoko from Gurren Lagann & Yuri Lowenthal did awesome as Keigo for perfecting his hyper dorkiness as well, hahahahaha.
A double new Bleach next week,WOOOHOOO,about time Adult Swim uses their heads.

I think the Bounts are very similar the groups of characters we will soon meet. The Soul Society acknowledge their excistance, maybe they will do the same for some other group that they turned their backs on when they needed them.
The scene when Ichigo visted those spirits that was very sad. It reminded us of what Ichigo was at the beginning.

Oh well, if they have to let one of them live. Thank God it's the smart one.I agree. And I am glad that of all the bounts, it was Koga that lived for three reasons.
First, like you stated, he was the smart one.
Second, he was the most honorable of the bounts. His doll on the other hand...
Third, he was a teacher of bounts. He taught the other bounts to use their powers. Meaning, if any other bounts show up, he can teach them.
This was a good back story episode that tied up the loose ends of the bount arc and seems to set the stage for the next arc at the end of the episode.

Maybe in the anime version of the epiloque of the series, Koga will make a cameo appearance, being part of a new day and new hope for us all.
Maybe he will be there if and when there is new leadership appointed in Soul Society, which if there is any justice it would be Urahara put in charge, no offense to Yama, but after it all goes down, SS would need a fresh new start with a new leader, and Urahara is my nominee, and / or Ichigo's wedding to...
I'll leave that incomplete just to be mean. But as the story goes on, I think it is little doubt who the lucky lady will be. If you read the Beach pilot, it is obvious who it is.

In reguards to Soi Fon, as serious as she is most of the time, there are a couple of Shinigami Picture Illustrated shorts which she is hillarous. I don't consider them spoilers, since Adult Swim is never airs them anyway, so what I am spoiling? In one short, she is trying to see Yoruichi naked, another one she along with Yachiru (yeah I know this sounds wrong) and Nanao are students in Rangiku's class on how to be sexy.
Though she is also hillarous in the Turn Back The The Pendulum arc, episode 206 in the anime

"Well.. well.. what a charming city.."
Ah.. and so the canon begins. I actually thought this episode brought back the charm that made me like Bleach in the first place, I really liked how Ichigo was always kind to spirits and still is to this day. It made me kind of sad to see how that kid Ichigo was going to give the airplane to was just gone, really this whole thing reminds me of the first very season which is the season I liked a lot because it was not all about ultra mega power ups and charging up, and it had a unique thing about it going on, kind of like it was a different show. Well kids what did we learn from this slow paced arc? German vampires don't belong on a show about evil ghosts...or something.
Now let's begin my favorite arc already.. or one of them anyways..

How did a discussion about this episode turn into a discussion about Bleach's lesbians? I would've thought filler boredom would have caused such a discussions weeks, maybe months ago. Not now.
FTR, I still think Yoruichi's a bisexual. There's just no way to tell with Bleach's women. I think Tite Kubo has a fetish for lesbians and female bis considering there's no gay men or bisexual men in his series.
Anyone notice the cameo of Kubo's one-shot Bad Shield United? That was a cool shout-out to his earlier work.
I applaud Wendee Lee's range. I can't believe she's able to pull both Tatsuki and Yoruichi off. Michelle Ruff also deserves a lot of credit for getting the gravitas of Rukia down, and Wally Wingert is entertaining as Renji as always. I really like the voice work in general other than Stephanie Sheh's Orihime, which sounds so fake and forced.

As far as voice over cast, agreed great cast. Everyone sounds the way I think they would sound. And there is some great tests for our cast ahead in the near future. And as you know, Orihime's role becomes very important from now on. We will see how Stephanie Sheh does with it.

I really like the voice work in general other than Stephanie Sheh's Orihime, which sounds so fake and forced.
you have to remeber these guys have lived for hundreds if not thousands of years, after all that time wouldnt you get a little curious

Bleach has quite a few lesbians on the show. There is at least three that I know of. I guess Mr. Kubo likes lesbians.
Um wut? Chizuru's the only confirmed lez in the series, everything else is just fan gossip or doujinshi fodder.
Have to say, I don't like the new guy's voice. (Imo, a better match would've been the guy who did Kyo in Zatch Bell.)

Oh Chizuru, she wants Orihime badly.
I still feel ambiguous about the Chizuru/Orihime/Tatsuki arc.
On the one hand, Chizuru is a jerk for coming on to Orihime so aggressively. Her behavior seems especially rude as Orihime appears not to be gay, but I'd wonder if even if she was gay, Orihime would be turned off by Chizuru's heavyhanded.
OTOH: I find it a little hard to laugh at Tatsuki's attacks on Chizuru, since they're so violent. I have to wonder if Tatsuki is either 1) a closeted lesbian with a crush on Orihime and who gets very jealous, or 2) a homophobe. Does anyone have any insight on Tatsuki's motivations. The second option disturbs me.

Uh, I'm pretty sure Soi Fon if not a lesbian is at least gay for Yourouchi. If you see the various little Shinigami Golden cups (or even some of the little pre chapter one panel stories done by Tite for some of the chapters like the one in volume 25 about the Shingami women going shopping for bathing suit) it's pretty obvious that she has beyond hero worship for Yourouchi. Of course Yorouchi obviously dosen't feel the same way back but it's obvious Soi Fon's crushing on her big time.

The third and obvious option is that Tasuki beats on Chizuru because she is a pervert fondoling Orihime. Why do you think Kon gets smacked around and stepped on so much? It's just a general anime thing: all pervetic characters get thrashed around comedically. There's a slight twist with Chizuru since she's a girl lusting after another girl but since she is still trying to abuse a woman who is the type that is to kind to retaliate back, the nearest other violent female character will do it. Which in this case is Tatsuki.

BACK TO ACTION!
Wait wait wait. EpcarBount lives?
Oh well, if they have to let one of them live. Thank God it's the smart one.
I thought the one wearing glasses was the smart one? I mean, he never did or said anything smart, but I just assume that everyone who wears glasses and a tie is smart. I might like Koga more if his character design wasn't so ugly looking. I mean, I can't tell where his beard ends and his hair begins. And what the hell is with those headphones he wears around his neck?

When I mean smart, I mean he's the only one that figured Jin isn't such a good guy. I'm really tempted to say that he only lives because if he died, that stupid flashback episode would've become pointless since the character it revolves around would be dead.
I liked this episode....
Ichigo and Renji arguing was funny, especially when Byakuya came by to tell them to knock it off....
The flashbacks were awesome(they were canon material from the manga, and I'm extremely happy that they animated them)....I especially loves Renji's flashback where he's just been promoted to Squad 6 as their lieutenant...it seems all his friends know about his love for Rukia :anime: ...He's worked so hard to prove himself worthy of her,so I hope they end up together in the end...
...and Koga's alive....wasn't expecting that, but since he was the nicest of them (as in least likely to cause trouble for humans,as long as they leave him be),I guess it's a good thing...
Kon's back, and of course, now that the fighting's over,he thinks he could've defeated all the Bounts single-handedly....and thinks he has a chance with Rukia (...right....he's only interested until Orihime or another pretty girl comes by) ,as Ichigo points out,Byakuya would stop him (if not him, then Renji...)....
and everyone goes back home to start the next arc,and in the last couple minutes we meet one of the new characters (I already know his name, but don't want to give it away for people who only follow the English anime...just out of curiousity, does anyone know who the VA was?...He sounded familiar, but I couldn't tell from just one line)....

Personally I would think it would be cool if Koga did come back with a upgraded Doll and save Ichigo's butt in a filler arc. >_> But from the looks of things he fell down the filler dumpster of ideas..

Well, as far as episodes go, I would have to say this was blah. Yea, it goes against the popular thoughts on this thread (aside from the lesbian fetish). Aside from all the repeating of the phrase 'repeating', this just showcased how much nothing got accomplished. As for the preview for the next arc, I am intrigued, but can we all please stop hinting at things that will happen in the next few episodes? I mean, really, those of you who have seen it know what is going to happen, and those of us who don't know, well, at least I want to be surprised. (enough of my ranting)
As for the rest of the thread, I have learned not to insult Orihime (Don, you forgot Tranzor Z!).
As for Orihime's stalker and protector, I honestly think it is someone who is just protective of her naivete (sp?) that brings out the violence.
It's subtle, but this is about the part in the series where the anime adapts Kubo's new art style: jaw lines aren't as rigid and everyone wears five pounds of mascara each.
I noticed the difference in art styles, it looks like everyone gained extra neck muscles. They also looked older when sitting there reflecting.
Also, as many times as they battled up on that cliff, why didn't I ever see that exit there? Just something I was pondering.
Edit: Why in the world did they leave one bount alive? Was there a purpose for the writers to make it known that Koga lived?

Actually, I've been meaning to say something about this too but didn't. Guys, it's really annoying when you do this. Bleach is one of the few series where I haven't spoiled myself by keeping up with the plot in Japan, and I really can't stand it when someone keeps lording the fact that they know what's going to happen next over me.
...Alright, I'm done now too.

You know I should just quote you for now on.
Guys I will just say this once.. and I will put giant words in each new Bleach thread until we get a understanding..
THIS IS NOT THE ANIME FORUM, PEOPLE HERE WANT TO BE SURPRISED AND ENJOY THE SHOW. It's really hard to take Bleach seriously at all now due to people who like to talk about future episodes, if you want to do that well guess what..? There is the lovely anime forum where you can chat with your buddies about the next arcs.
Sorry I know I'm going a bit over the top but come on seriously >_> I'm seriously going to end up seeing like a whole page of spoiler tags, think before you post. Or at least act like this is your first time watching it again to please other people and go wild in the anime forum.

Interesting rumors from the ASMB: remember those old reports that Viz was transferring the dub to Ocean Westwood? According to the rumors on the ASMB: that indeed happened . . . to the Arrancars. Supposedly Brad Swaile and Scott McNeil are attached to play two of the Arrancars.

Tatsuki is overprotecting Orihime, and overprotective can also mean overreacting.

Oh, heck yeah. I hope Swaile plays the one I hope he's playing.
