I liked how the promo advertised that Dragonball: Evolution was "how we've always wanted to see the characters". I didn't realize that that there was a vast majority of people who have always wanted to see Goku as a clone of Peter Parker, Piccolo as a Power Rangers villain with Mai as his henchwoman for no stated reason, Chi Chi as the daughter of a fast food mougul and Bulma without blue hair.

The McRobberts part isn't in the movie it was mistakenly put in the junior novels.

Yea, they even got Cullen to do the voice-over to bring back the great memories of DBZ. They said "you enjoyed Dragon Ball on Cartoon Network, now you can see the characters the way you've always wanted". Hah. Well, if you guys acknowledge that we enjoyed DBZ, why not air it? You probably still have the rights. But I guess room must be made for all of those live action "initiatives" you guys are doing. And I doubt this is how most people ever wanted to see Dragonball. Cullen's voiceover actually made the movie seem cooler, too bad it probably won't be.

Maybe we'll eventually see Dragon Ball Kai hit You Are Here, and it would turn out to be a redub of DBZ. Of course, the only thing relating to the movie is the name, and name alone.

Isn't that was Dragon Ball Kai is basically?

Pretty much, and the only thing that Dragonball: Evolution seems to have going for it is the cheese factor. If nothing else, it looks like it might be a fun movie to MST, like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Still, I doubt that DB:E will be enough of a commercial success to make CN reconsider re-airing Dragonball/DBZ.

this is how CN feels about dbz now:
"DBZ, go watch the live-action, cause we sure as hell aint showing you any of your animez"

Heh, sure feels that way. I mean, CN aired the Hellboy animated movies when the 2nd LA movie was released in theaters and played Return Of The Joker when The Dark Knight was released. Why wouldn't they air DBZ too?

This might be the one thing that even Peter Cullen can't look awesome.
