So I guess it's safe to assume Transformers Animated won't be back in 2010? Do the creators of animated shows usually know enough in advance that they're not getting picked up to do a proper finale, or is most of the production already done?

Do the creators of animated shows usually know enough in advance that they're not getting picked up to do a proper finale, or is most of the production already done?When a season is airing on television, the crew is usually still working on the final episodes of said season. It's during this time that most creators see/hear whether or not there is a chance for another season. No one knows if the show is getting another season after this one though...

News that Transformers Animated may not get a third season saddens me a bit, I mean, I know it isn't as loved as the original or even as loved as a couple versions that have come before it, but TA has had some good episodes and has been a part of my Saturday mornings for a while now, I would hate to see it go so soon. There is still hope, like RacAttack mentioned, there still may be some hope left for TA on CN, but if not then all I can really say is it was fun while it lasted and I hope we get to see a new Transformers show within the next couple of years, maybe this time on CW4kids!

It already has a third season that started airing on CN two weeks ago. It's a fourth season that seems unlikely at this time.

Looking to 2010 and a non-movie year, Hasbro is hoping that the animated television series on Cartoon Network and DVDs will keep the Transformers brand strong in the marketplace. The plan is to go back to the roots of the brand and leverage the catalog of programming available.
Hasbro is counting on Animated to keep Transformers alive in 2010, so make what you will of that.
