I was watching an old tape of tenchi universe i taped off of CN from 2001 and i came upon one of the toonami fan art features. Does anyone think CN should bring back this for their shows? They may not have the time to have a whole feature, but maybe put up a pic of a character as a bumper for a show. Adult Swim occasionally will show fan art/fan creations in their bumps, and with the popularity of sites like deviantart, it shows that fan art is still popular and it would be a great way for fans young and old to show their creativity.

I know Thurop Van Orman is trying to do that for his show. He managed to get one montage aired during the Love Hears/Whale Times episode.

Since they stopped accepting fan art via mail due to the anthrax attacks, the only way it'd work would be to do an internet version (A la Thurop) - but honestly, with anyone and everyone submitting art it'd probably be expensive to staff said position - especially if they promoted it.

Additionally it'd be difficult to explain the guidelines to kids - since all on-air art now has to be scanned in a rather large dimension to gel with their new(ish) HD Standards.

I'd love it if they could do it (and it's not impossible) - anything that encourages kids to get their art on is wonderful; but I can' almost hear the executive mind-think suggesting it's just not worth the trouble.
